While my vegetarian best friend was in town I was searching for restaurants offering options she might enjoy other than a salad. The 10th street diner hit the mark! Their entire menu is vegan and they have diner classics such as a Reuben and BLT. The location is small but cozy and you order at the counter. Our food came out fresh and hot and tasted delicious! I would say you could easily bring a non-vegan here and still be satisfied.

We were flying out of Indianapolis & had some time to kill. We saw an episode on Guy Fieri's Triple D, the other day. He was at 10th Street Diner, where they serve vegan food. Since we were in the area we went to check it out. Glad we did! We ordered the Reuben sandwich which comes with tortilla chips. We also ordered a side of fries. Since changing my diet to pescatarian, I can't remember the last time I had a Reuben sandwich! Their Reuben sandwich was soooo delicious! I don't think anyone would know it's a vegan sandwich! It also has sauerkraut in the sandwich, which makes it a true classic! And their fries are awesome too! The service was good & fast! The neighborhood looks a little sketchy tho, so much so that we were thinking of leaving. Glad we gave it a try! It was well worth it!

This place was lovely. You order at a walk up counter. I believe they have a rotating menu and they also have a beverage case featuring MANGO LASSI! Dreams do come true! It was so tasty. I've been on a tight budget so I just ordered a cup of chili. I will say, everything on the menu was really reasonably priced. I was with a friend who ordered the chimichanga and the chili cheese fries. She was generous enough to share the fries and oh my goodness were they good! Crisp, seasoned to perfection, and the toppings made it extra tasty. My chili was nothing special and the crackers it came out with were stale but my friend raved about her chimichanga. I definitely want to come back and try out more on their menu! Plus it's right next to Guide and Anchor which is one of my favorite spots in town!

I'm driving through Indianapolis and stopped an the 10th street diner for lunch. The interior has beautiful exposed brick which makes for an inviting atmosphere. I had the wings and chili fries. They were super good. I especially liked the chili. It had great flavor.

    Rib Sandwich

I came in today after moving to Arizona 3 1/2 years ago. I'd heard the restaurant was under new ownership but decided to give it a chance. As soon as I walked in, there was an overwhelming smell of burnt, old grease. The restaurant looked mostly the same as before, just not as well maintained. I ordered a rib sandwich, fries, and a mango drink. The person at the counter didn't greet me, he just stared at me when he walked up, which already felt uncomfortable. When I got my food, my first impression was unfortunately correct. The fries tasted like they were cooked in very old grease, and the seitan was either old or extremely overcooked. I honestly couldn't tell which. This is definitely not the same restaurant it used to be. I'm not someone who complains, especially about vegan restaurants since there are so few left, but this was really disappointing.

Service was kind and efficient. Restaurant is very clean and tidy. I had the Reuben a few months ago and couldn't wait to have it again. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't as good this time. The pasta salad was average, nothing special. It needs something to boost the flavor. The gyro looked amazing, but it was incredibly salty, making it difficult to eat. I'm wondering what has changed here. I know it changed hands, but I thought dishes would stay the same.

I tried a few things here. Chorizo Chimichanga was very tasty. I didn't care for the seitan wings; they were very meaty. But that's just a personal preference for me. Also I requested buffalo but they heard "BBQ", so that may have contributed to it as well. Potato Salad was good. Brunch items: Blueberry Pancakes were delicious. 3 large pancakes. Definitely a lot of bang for your buck. Breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy were equally delicious. Spicy Chicken Biscuit. The biscuit was good and I like how thin the chkn patty was. It comes with cheese, which isn't mentioned in the menu description. I peeled it off, but would've avoided the waste had I known. Diner Plate - It comes with tofu scramble, breakfast potatoes, simmered greens, biscuit & gravy, bacon, and baked apples. The bacon was actually very very good. Unfortunately, the tofu scramble, greens, and even the breakfast potatoes weren't good. The tofu scramble and greens were a little better after I added hot sauce. I don't know what happened with the potatoes that day. The biscuit was still good. I know the other times I went, one of the owners was cooking. The last time (with the Diner Plate brunch), the co-owner was back there in the kitchen but so was another man. I assume the other man cooked my food and maybe that's why it tasted vastly different? Just a guess. Service ranged from excellent to so-so depending on who was working that day. I met the other co-owner, Karen, on one of my visits and she was an absolute delight. I get disappointed with inconsistency, but things happen. I'd definitely return when back in Indy, and when the co-owner is cooking.

I didn't take a photo of my food, my bad. But suffice to say that the Italian beef sandwich they have there is incredible. So juicy. Their chorizo chimichanga is a staple, but we got the chicken version today. 10th street diner is in Eastside. There is parking in front of the diner. The people there are enthusiastic about the food they make and giving vegans and flexitarians that diner experience. The Saturday brunch looks great, and we'll have to try it sometime.

One of our favorites - a must-visit for any vegan in the area! Everything is vegan We especially love the BLT and any other of their sandwiches really. The buffalo chick'n is dense and spicy - hearty sandwich. The fried pickles are great (Big spears)! Biscuit&Gravy so yummy

All vegan! What's not to love. Always something new on menu, today was a special menu with brunch entrees only. My chimichanga was sooo good with chunks of flavorful fillings. I guess I'm not sure what the fake meat was but it tasted good - not like meat. I also had a mango smoothie made with almond yogurt, mmmmmmm. Wonderful little patio allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the breeze.

Me and my friends were in town to see Mizmor and we're going to go to Plantastic but they seemed close to except for order and pickup so we found this place and 10th Street Diner was legit. I normally get a gyro when I see then available at a vegan restaurants but they had a rib sandwich as the special so I hadn't had anything like that before and it was a solidified banger. I should've ordered up to get the fries because the nacho chips were the only thing lackluster in our experience. The women that were running the place were amazing and sweet. They had a mango lassi that was vegan and it so good. I tried a bite of the Reuben sandwich and it was the best Reuben I've had. The Buffalo wings were good as well but they were not battered or anything and were fried pieces of seitan but still yummy. Highly recommend this place and it was a cute spot as well.

The flavor of both sandwiches was great! The service was quick. There is ample seating both inside and on the patio. Downside was the menu is not very descriptive so it is hard to know what comes on each item. Additionally it is not clear that the sides unless you do the chips are an additional $3.50. If they adjusted the menu or had a QR code where you could easily view more details I think it would be a huge help.

I've been eating here consistently for quite some time and I am thoroughly pleased each and every time. The owners and staff are so genuine and inviting. The food is delicious and comforting. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale. They are now doing fine dining. This is a first for Indy and I love that they are pushing forward in this space. My friend and I went on opening night and we shared the calamari. For my main dish I ordered the steak filet which came with truffle mashed potatoes, asparagus and cranberry sauce. My friend had the house made fettuccine. When I tell you it was all so delicious. It took a little more time, but that has to be expected in fine dining anyway. But the big wow is, they are making the pasta by hand prior to making the dish. That's truly outstanding. It truly elevates the dish. Everything we had was so flavorful. When I heard cranberry sauce I was like, hmm how is this gonna work?? Oh it worked! It paired so well with the rest of the dish. For desert we had the leaving the nest which was chocolate ganache on a nest of chocolate with a hand made chocolate cookie. Me nor my friend like chocolate much, but the quality and flavor of this desert was one that I could enjoy again. I will definitely be back and I suggest the same for you. Very proud of this establishment. They are resilient and brilliant and they truly care about their customers and their business. Much love.

Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. The drinks, the ramen, the dessert...we love it all, and we love spending our money at a local business. For years now, the kitchen has substituted rice for ramen for me because I have gluten intolerance. I have always asked respectfully, explained why, and said thank you, every single time. Tonight my husband and I walked down to Strangebird for dinner, ordered drinks and dinner, and I had *just* said to my husband that Strangebird has come to feel like a second home. Then the server came out and told us that the chef has decided they will no longer permit any modifications, including those that meet dietary needs. We were out on the quiet patio surrounded by other customers, so on top of being totally blindsided, it was actually pretty embarrassing, too. Folks, let me tell you how much I wish I could just eat the ramen noodles like everybody else. So much food that I love (and in some cases spent years learning to make myself) went out the window forever when my body stopped being able to handle wheat. But at Strangebird, I could still go in and enjoy the depth of flavor in every other component of a bowl of ramen. And that meant the absolute world to me. I'm heartbroken.
