Best "wings" I've ever had. So creative and tasty. Even the non-vegetarians will love!

Their chicken sandwich is the best I have ever had. I would have never been able to tell it wasn't chicken! The pickles on it were amazing!

Man, was I glad to see the Caveman Truck parked beside the Speakeasy after a few beer samples at…read morethe Indiana Tasting Society event! The menu offered a few different foods with multiple choices on sizes (by the ounce), and the lovely hostess taking our order was delightful. We had a really hard time deciding what to get as everything looked reeeeeeally good, but we opted to split the following: *Bacon Hash -- 4 oz for $4 -- well worth it! *Barnyard chili -- 8 oz for $7 -- pricy yet tasty *Jicama Tacos (one chicken guac and one chorizo aioli) -- 2 for $7 -- messy but pretty good *Fudge bites for dessert -- $3 for one -- dark chocolate, peanut butter, banana, sea salt, and applesauce mixed and formed in to a hockey-puck type solid mass. It was not really sweet like I expected, and kind of hard to eat. Probably wouldn't get it again. Next time I will totally get the Brussels Sprouts for myself when not sharing with the hubs :) I would say overall this was a 3 1/2 star experience for me as it was over $20 for 'snacks' and we were still hungry afterwards, but a star bump for using real, quality ingredients.

Still, I'll support a paleo food truck when the truck has "bacon (greater than) gluten" painted on the side of it. That's one way to get my attention for sure! On our visit my boyfriend and I shared two tacos--one chicken, one chorizo--fried plantains, and the brussel sprouts. I have so many nice things to say about all three. Instead of corn or flour, Caveman Truck uses fresh jicama as a tortilla to hold its protein + slaw + guac/aioli. It's the perfect starchy alternative to cut through the good greasiness of the chorizo. The plantains are not only fried in coconut oil beautifully, but also they are caked with a curry-based seasoning, providing you with a sweet plantain that also has some savory elements to it. The brussel sprouts--my favorite of the three--are fried in coconut oil and topped with an overload of crumbled bacon and a spritz of lime. It's a little bit of fatty, a little bit of zesty and a whole lot of flavor. All three dishes knocked it out of the park. From here on out, I'll be keeping an eye out for the Caveman Truck on the streets of Indy, because I still need to try the highly-praised barnyard chili and bacon hash. If this is how our ancestors ate, then I can't wait to eat the primal way again!

This food truck was at the Thursday statehouse market and they had the shortest line so I decided…read moreto give it a try. I'm a bit of a brisket aficionado (lived in Austin for 5 years) and am always on the lookout for the best versions in Indiana. I ordered the basic brisket sandwich (not their brisket-topped mac&cheese bowl) to properly assess the quality. It's served on a standard white hamburger bun and you have a choice of BBQ sauces to put on it. I opted for the 'Heat' sauce as I am also a chilehead. It's more of a knife-and-fork sandwich due to the bun, but the meat itself isn't bad. I despise dry brisket and this is anything but. In fact it may have gone a bit too far in the other direction, but that may be due to the steam table where the meat is kept on the truck. All in all, it was worth a visit and if I see this truck again I would give it a whirl. Maybe I'll try the mac & cheese bowl with pulled pork...

I booked Wild Boar BBq for an event for our church back in April of 2023…read more Had to go through the ordeal with the food truck site and get "matched". I gave Travis all the information as far as crowd size etc., and that there would be another truck (2 total) for the event. and all was good. I explained that the other was a pretty new food truck to the industry - small mom and pop mexican food truck. They have good food, just not very fast. Also emailed a few weeks ago to let him know we moved the time up by an hour to catch the lunch crowd. Today, 17 days before the event, Travis cancelled. Gave me an explanation that he had to re-consider because crowd size was not big enough - that they can serve 100-120 people an hour and he should have done the math. And now at least one truck would have a "great" day. We were not looking for an "express line", just good food for a music festival in downtown Indy. It is the 2nd year for our festival, so trying to pack it with the best food, drink and music possible. They might have good food, but I guess I'll never know. So, don't count on Wild Boar BBq; they can back out on you at the last minute. Not only do they need a minimum guarantee; they need a "guarantee" of a great day.
