My wonderful husband wanted to treat me to a special breakfast/brunch for my 50th birthday and I heard wonderful things about the 105 Café so that's where we went. We arrived around 8:30 on a Tuesday morning and several employees were sitting at tables and invited us to sit anywhere we wanted. We chose our table and waited..and waited..and waited.......still waiting.. After 10 minutes (from when we started timing) of no water, menu or any other service, we chose to leave rather than make a fuss. Obviously the staff knew we were there but couldn't be bothered to serve us. It is really is a shame since I was very much looking forward to trying the wonderful menu. It really doesn't matter how good the food is if you never get to try it. If I have to beg for service, then you really don't need my business. With organic and local ingredients, it's a restaurant where you can order what you truly want and know that you'll be happy with the result! Also, since things are fresh and made from whole ingredients, it's much easier to get specialized orders completed here. The service is family-oriented and friendly. 105 Cafe is a staple in the semi-suburban city of Conroe. There is a constant line on weekends, but even if the wait was for 3 hours, it would be worth it. Everything at 105 is fresh, homemade, and tasty. You get a hometown feel in a big city. The biscuits and gravy taste just like my grandma makes. My wife and I eat breakfast out every Friday. There are several terrific places in Conroe, but 105 is our favorite. The pancakes are the best in town. Last week, we took the big risk of straying from the trusty buttermilk pancake and ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes instead...they were even better! First time trying 105, and I wasn't very impressed. I ordered the ham and swiss omelet with potatoes and an English muffin. The muffin was good, potatoes needed more seasoning, and the omelet was mediocre at best. I'm used to ham pieces being cooked within the eggs with seasonings and green onions. It was a couple slabs of ham tucked inside the fold with cheese. No seasoning, not even pepper. Definition of old, white person food. If I come back, I'll try the pancakes or waffles, but probably not the omelets again... The waitress was extremely nice and checked in an appropriate amount of times, and the restaurant itself was clean and pleasant to be in. read more

We are regulars here and have not once had a bad meal. The servings of breakfast- particularly the skillets and scrambles are huge. The lemon ricotta pancakes are insanely good. I seriously dig mom and pop restaurants and this place is the perfect example as to why. I ordered biscuits and gravy and my mate ordered chicken fried steak that came with potatoes and eggs. Gravy was OFF THE CHAINNNNNN!!!!! Smokey with bits of sausage. So so so delicious. Eggs were so golden bright yellow. Not dripping in oil or butter. I was jealous of my mates CFS. It was super meaty with a delicious breading and LORT THE POTATOES... mercy me!!! Eat here people. You will not be disappointed. Staff is also amazingly warm and attentive. I visited the 105 cafe for the first time in response to positive reviews on Yelp. I've been taking a tour of the local breakfast restaurants from about Spring to North of Conroe up and down I-45 hoping to find one or two really good non-franchise regular breakfast spots since I enjoy eating a cooked breakfast but don't enjoy cooking at that hour of the day. I am sorry to say, I was underwhelmed. Overall, not horrible, but not a place I'd go at all out of my way for, sadly. I did find the decor pleasant, fairly clean and uncluttered. The hostess seemed to have a negative attitude. My waitress was quite pleasant and friendly. My coffee could have been fresher. It turned grey in the cup when I added cream, usually a sign of having been held on warm too long. I admit to being choosy about my coffee. This coffee had a strong acidic flavor which I experience as painful up through my sinuses. I prefer a smoother blend and a darker roast, freshly brewed. I had a Country Skillet breakfast. The scrambled eggs on top were very good - light fluffy and moist. The bits of sausage ( little finger sized) were flavorful and not too spicy for my sensitive digestive tract. Some of the ham bits were quite tasty, but I also received quite a few pieces of hard "skin" from the ham that were unappealing. The bacon was wasted. I don't know what they did to it but it was cooked really hard and had no flavor. I picked most of the bacon out and set it aside. I can hardly believe that could ever happen! The small potato cubes were good, flavorful and not too greasy. The wheat toast was ok. I'm a little puzzled about the claim to be an organic restaurant. Some additional clarification could be helpful. They seem to use a number of standard non- organic brands of condiments- jams, jellies, half and half, ketchup, sugar that I noticed, not sure which items from the kitchen are organic and which are not. read more

Took forever to get the food. Undercooked bell peppers, hard potatoes, tasteless meat. Toast was not crisp as well as the service. Waitresses took more time talking amongst themselves than paying attention to refills of water (which we needed to choke down the sad meal we were served.) Although we were itching to leave, it took forever to get our check. I'm never coming back. Just go to The Toasted Yolk if you want a nice breakfast. This place is garbage. read more

Every time I eat here I try to eat something different thinking that I'll find whatever it is that keeps this place open. It never makes much difference though because their food is all terrible. There aren't tons of options in this area and I've been here when eating with others who choose this location. The food lacks flavor...I can't say that enough. It's just not good! Most recently I had chicken fried steak, potatoes and scrambled eggs with cheese. After adding about a gallon of hot sauce and salt it was still barely edible. The potatoes taste like nothing but the onions they're cooked with, the gravy and chicken fried steak have no flavor. None. And the cornmeal coating is not good. The eggs were burnt on the bottom and again, were disgusting. The service is mediocre and the actual restaurant is kind of gross. read more

My wife and I were looking for a local breakfast place and found this one. It is a really good locally owned place. Possibly the best Pancakes I have ever ordered. The Waitress was incredibly nalegable of the all of the food on the menu. She made sure we were taken care of down to asking if we would like drinks to go after we paid are bill. I was really looking forward to this too... Took some co-workers from out of state and ordered a skillet. It was a pile of potatoes, onions, tomatoes and cheese. My two eggs were overcooked (I asked for over easy) and the bacon were very very crispy. I think they deep fry the bacon to get the crispiness but in doing so it lost all bacon flavor. The biscuit is nothing more than a pillsbury dough biscuit which is not horrible but coming from an organic place like this one would expect homemade biscuits. In the end, there are better breakfast joints in the area but I will say the staff was friendly and the sweet tea was awesome. read more
