Zero stars is what I would truly rate them. This place is absolutely horrible. I took three items there and I came back with two stained items and the other shirt went missing. After going there 8 times, I never had my shirt returned to me. I spoke to three managers and they all did nothing but give me the run around. One manager/owner told me to wait for him to call me but continue to bring in my clothes. Heck no!! You have to be kidding me. Instead of going the extra mile and picking up the shirt from the person they "accidentally" gave it to, they chose to ignore me and do absolutely nothing. BTW, he never contacted me to provide me an update. When I asked for the money for the cost of the shirt he said they also couldn't do anything until 30 days had passed. Finally after 30 days and my eighth visit, I return and I speak to another manager. This manager said after speaking to him three times, said he "had a lot of work" to do and didn't have time to deal with the issue. Additionally, the third manager told the other manager in front of me, she contacted the person again they swapped other the shirt with that this person didn't have my shirt. This is a big issue as they told me that another customer had it. So they've been lying to me instead of dealing with the issue? Again I asked for my money for the cost of the shirt, they still didn't want to do anything. At this point, I'm very irritated and I ask if they want to be taken to small claims court. Was visiting the area for work for 2 weeks and needed to do laundry but when I saw their sign I decided for the price to have them clean everything for me instead! I do not understand why everyone is anti-this business, this is not Walmart this is a small chain and I really do not like chains but for $1.99 per item any item except leather and suede this is an awesome idea! Drop off by 9:00am ready same day by 5:00pm! My dry cleaners back home charged me 7.68 for a button up shirt that I bought at Kohns for $5.99 on sale! This is a great business idea, the staff was friendly and my things were actually ready at 3:00pm when I happened to be passing by. read more

As much as I would like to frequent a true "small business" dry cleaner, I can't argue with the prices. I even brave Route 7 traffic to get there in the evening some nights. I've heard the stories about missing buttons, but I don't have my shirts done there and my pants/jackets don't have much to lose. Also, with the money I save, I figure if I need to replace a pair of pants they ruin, I would probably be pretty close to even. Maybe one of these days one of the small dry cleaners near me will start doing $2.99/piece or something and make the price difference easier to swallow. Really disappointed. I took 15 shirts to be dry cleaned. Three of the shirts were white cotton or linen. They all came back pressed (flat) but still looking wrinkled. The big problem, however, was that when I took them out of the plastic bag and went to hang them in the closet, they were all dingy looking. I asked my husband to look at them and asked him what color they were; he said "taupe or gray". I had to rewash everything with oxyclean, and they're all white again. We've also had two instances in which we've dropped off shirts with small stains that we've told them about (tomato sauce and balsamic vinegar), and the shirts still had smudged stains in them after they were cleaned. I treated them with spray and wash, threw them in the laundry, and stains were all gone. Never again. read more

Here's the deal with this place, they are rock bottom cheap and that's what you get. I drop my dress shirts and dress pants off every week or two. They are relatively clean when I drop them off as I work in an office environment. I get them back cleaned, pressed, and starched. If you have stains and heavily soiled clothing, you are rolling the dice here, and should probably take them to a more professional cleaners. As others have stated, sometimes I have a broken or missing button on a shirt. All of my dress shirts come with spare buttons sewn onto the tail, so I can replace it. I have used this place for a few years (since it opened) and I can count the damaged buttons on one hand. This happens with all cleaners, even the good ones.. If you have fancy embroidery, sequins, or other complicated add ons... then I'd probably go elsewhere. Bottom line, if you want to save a LOT of money on simple clean and press dress shirts/pants, this place is A-OK. read more

My philosophy with these discount dry cleaners is probably like most - and that is - I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of quality in turn for significantly cheaper dry cleaning prices. Over the year, I'd say quality was average to below average at times (shirts have recently been coming back looking pressed, but still really wrinkly). Until this recent visit I haven't had an issue with damage to any of my items. That brings me to today. My wife picked up dry cleaning / dropped off dry cleaning a few days ago. When she picked up, they gave her the dry cleaning, plus 2 of my shirts they didn't clean - stating that they were ripped (by me) and so they didn't clean and wouldn't assume responsibility. I've had shirts like this come back from the dry cleaner ripped before - always in the same place - in the middle of the arm. I'm certain the rips weren't me, I would have noticed when I was wearing them last. And this place checks every garment pretty closely before they accept them and would have flagged it then. At this point, I'm weighing if I'm going to go in there and try to deal with this. The shirts weren't super old, but not new by any means. Total current value today is probably $40. So that's issue #1 & 2. Issue #3. I'm getting ready for work yesterday and I pull out one of the recently dry cleaned shirts (this was in the batch of clothes they did clean). I put it on and notice two small rips and a stain / looks like maybe an iron burn. It's in the sleeve. This is a brand new shirt that I was sending for dry cleaning for the first time. I take it in today to talk to someone about it and to pick-up the batch of clothes we dropped off earlier this week. I talk to the cashier about it, and she says she has to get her manager to handle it. Manager comes out to discuss. I explain the situation (A. it's a new shirt, B. this is the 3rd shirt in a single batch of dry cleaning we just picked up w/ a tear in the sleeve C. I'd like you to take care of (at a minimum) this shirt). I didn't bring the other 2 shirts with me. Just didn't feel like digging them out. He looks at it, and say's (paraphrasing) - "looks like some chemical spilled on the shirt and ate a hole in the fabric" BS. He goes on..."we don't have any chemicals in our shop that would do this - we purposely avoid using such chemicals". BS. He goes on.." I suggest you write a letter to the shirt manufacture telling them you received this shirt this way" I tell the guy I disagree with his assessment and explain the "stain" has very defined edges (meaning doesn't look like a spill) and has rips on either end of it. He essentially ignores and repeats his bit about chemical spilling; he doesn't have those chemicals, etc. etc. Clearly a canned answer he's probably given dozens of times. At this point, the guy is talking in circles and clearly has no intention at all of assuming responsibility. Still - I tell him again that I disagree, and tell him that I need him to cover the cost of the shirt. He says "how much is the shirt". I say $50. He says essentially that they can't cover that much and some BS about insurance. Ridiculous. Then he tries to tell me the only thing they could even consider is having ME pay $15 for some "analysis" on the shirt to determine the cause. If at that point (after I pay $15) they determine they may be at fault, then they would "submit a claim and we'd see what happens". This happened to me only 1 other time, in Herndon at the 1.89 Dry Clean Depot. I talked to the owner / manager then, he was reasonable and agreed it was probably them. He asked for the value of the shirt, and gave me money for it. I thanked him and we continued to do business. I only left there because my office is no longer in Reston / Herndon. Anyway, back to this guy at the 1.89 Dryclean Depot in Sterling. He's 100% terrible as a person and a business person and cares nothing about his customers. I asked him if a single shirt was worth a long term customer and he just stared blankly. That says it all. Update - Just went through my dry cleaning that I just picked up (a few hours after the above review). 1 more shirt with a rip in the sleeve. Unbelievable. That's 4 shirts ruined by this place in the past 3 weeks. read more

In a nutshell, the problem with this place is that for 1.99 you only get a half-assed cleaning service. * The food on the cuff of my blazer was not removed; I scraped more off myself. This is likely the result of the staff not bothering to write down the spots I pointed out to him. * The pants to be pressed got pressed alright, but they didn't flatten them before pressing! Instead they pressed right over the fold in the fabric! * The suit coat was cleaned and pressed but the lining got an odd crease in it when they shoved it with the rest of my order into a "protective" plastic bag My order will have to get redone (elsewhere) so I didn't save much by coming to $1.99 Dry Cleaning. read more

I had no problems with this place when it was run by the original owners of DryClean Depot, but ever since this facility was bought out by ASAP Cleaners, the quality has gone to hell. This is pretty confusing considering the fact that they seem to have kept the same employees, who continue to provide the same level of customer service, but I presume that they've cut some corners around either the materials or the equipment being used for the actual work. The reason I say this is because my shirts typically come back with the appearance of being hastily ironed...not anything remotely close to actual dry cleaning. Pics are worth a thousand words, so see those that I attached to this review. They're from this morning, when I was hurrying out the door for work. Between the moment I sat down to put on my shoes and got back up to head for the door, my shirt was ridiculously crinkled and looks like I had just worn it in a triathlon. Also, my collars appeared flimsy and limp. All this despite my repeated requests for extra starch, which the clerks take a moment to verify with me every time I drop off an order. Can anyone offer any alternatives in the Loudoun County area? Paying $2.50 a piece for poor ironing is hardly worth it. read more

Double check all of your clothes when you pick them up. I dropped my clothes last week to get it dry cleaned. I realized that a pair of the pants they gave me were not mine, so I went back to return the pants and they told me to keep them! When I asked the manager to remedy the issue, she did not do anything to help. The service I received was very unprofessional and the manager was very rude. This place is like lottery. Out of every 10-15 of your shirts, you can totally have one damaged and unusable and lately I have been winning there lottery too many times now to a point that losing a $40-$50 men's shirt is not worth saving that dollar by going cross the street and having it done professionally. I was imagining 100's of negative reviews but as this location increases its price and by that changes its name from $1.88 to $1.89 every week I guess it's considered a new business every time and gets a new review page so in reality this business is 1000 one star reviews not 20 as of now which is a lot too. I never wish anything bad for any business but this is an exception. This place is no longer Dryclean Depot and is $2.29 per garment. Aside from that, when I put on my suit, cleaned at this dump last week, I found an actual cigarette butt in the pocket of my pants. The employee that took my suit when I dropped it off was a punk. He would not let me charge $9 and change because of their $10 minimum. I told the little a55 to give me back my clothes and I would go elsewhere. At this moment there was a voice from behind a wall that. said it was ok for me to charge my services since their atm was out of order. Turned out that this was the manager. I'm sure someone that works at this hole put this cigarrete butt in my pocket. Probably the clerk that waited on me. No one had possession of my suit except them and myself. I have not smoked for 25 years. Today, I went to this place and there was no manager or owner there. According to this very nice young woman working there, "no one is in charge". Oh my god! Combination of horrible service and rude staff. I still don't know how they are still in business. Every time your cloths will come back wrinkled and pressed. They also have knack of cleaning your suit such a ways that suits lining will hang outside your suit! I tried twice thinking second time they will not repeat but to my surprise they don't want to take the responsibility. Cash register staff told me that she cannot take responsibility of their cleaners who works at the back. Manager told me that she does not have time for customer. I used to take casual shirts and pants to this place, while taking my dress shirts and suits to another, more expensive place. Last time, they turned one of my khaki (Northface) pants into blue color (yes, BLUE). They refused to take responsibility and blamed it on Northface :) asking me to contact Northface, of course I did not, but I also stopped going there. Had they admitted their mistake and given me a good reason, I would have continued to take my stuff there, but their bad attitude and poor customer service convinced me that "you get what you pay for." read more

Dryclean Depot cleaned a cotton top and ruined it. The label on the cotton top indicated that it was dry-cleanable. When I went to pick it up, the cotton top had color splashes on it, and it was a different color. Instead of compensating me for the poor job, they gave me a letter stating that the garment should be replaced by the manufacturer. I told them that they were responsible for the poor dry cleaning job, not the manufacturer. The manager simply walked away from me, and refused to speak with me any further. Besides ruining my top, I was treated in a very poor, unprofessional manner. I will never use them again. read more

I've been taking my silk and wool suits there for dry cleaning a few times a year, as well as shirts and suits for my teenage son. This place has by far the best prices, and we were lucky we never had problems, knock on wood. The high, rip-off prices at other dry-cleaners make me avoid buying anything that cannot be simply washed at home. This is the only dry-cleaning I used for the past several years. I am sure it is far from perfect, but it worked for me until now. The service was always OK, I come in, bring the clothes to be cleaned, pay the bill and leave. As long as I stick to this plan, I should be OK. I am also mindful that the employees might be earning minimum pay while standing up for hours in high temperatures, and dealing with many picky customers. I am trying to avoid too much heartache by not buying very expensive big name designer clothes that require dry-cleaning...Other than that, good-luck, keep your fingers crossed and enjoy the low dry-cleaning prices. read more

They are one of the worst in customer service. Price is good but customer service is at its worst. I had picked up my laudndry on October 18th, 2011. toal cost was about $36.00 worth. On the 24th of October, I went to wear freshly dry cleaned pant, i ahd discovered there is big Rip on my pant. Took it to the store to find out what happen and what they can do, they were very rude. This fellow from the back came out and never idebntified himself as who he is told mne on my face it was not there fault and it my fault because i put my wallet in the back pocket. However, When I had dropped it off to be dry clean they had checked it and nothing was wrong. This fellow again not sure who he is stated, " I will not replace your pant and it is your fault". I lfet the pant for him. I have been going there for last 4/5 years and been very loyal to the small business. It is sad, i still think I was treated this way bevause who I was and how I appeared. I brought a suit to Dryclean Depot on 46839 Maple Leaf Place, Sterling, to have it cleaned for a small stain in the pants. When I picked it up, I checked the pants to see if the stain was removed. Though the stain was gone, there was a hole in the pants in the general area that had the stain. I know the pants did not have a hole in it when I dropped them off because I inspected them to see if there were any other stains prior to bringing them to Dryclean Depot. I clearly showed the cleaners the stain and again while looking at the pants with the cleaners, there was no hole. Of course, when I picked up the pants and saw that there was now a hole there, I pointed it out to them. Instead of taking responsibility for the hole and ruining the pants, the owner came up with many ridiculous and idiotic reasons for the hole, all of which basically boils down to them not being responsible for the hole. What happened to professional responsibility? Now, a practically new suit cannot be worn again because of the ruined pants. I will never take anything to this place again. read more
