Very good flavorful bubble tea well priced. Much better than the fake sugary bubble tea in mitsuwa. I got the mango lemonade with no sugar and it was sweet and sour and had a bright refreshing taste. I loved the star jelly, it was firm and chewy and fruity. The ambiance is cute, small store with some tables. The drink came out quickly, service was nice but I think they were a little bored.
Lovely tea store by Mitsuwa market. It's quite small. Only a few tables and seats available. Must people do take out. Lots options for regular tea, milk tea, fruit tea etc. I got Ceylon black tea. Rich tea flavor. But it's more on the bitter taste side. I probably will try something else next time. The staff are friendly. Lots of customers in the afternoon. It took some time for the drinks to come out. Overall a good tea spot.
Atmosphere: 5 Such a cute boba shop! I love the warm decor and I can see hanging out here. There was a long line when I came and I took my drink to go. It seems like they have some collaboration with a local seller because some cactus that were displayed had price tags on them. For sale I bet! I love that! Service: 5 The drink was prepared pretty quick and the person at the cashier was patient when I couldn't decide what to get. I even got a stamp card to come back! Flavors: 5 I'm glad I was able to order my strawberry matcha without sugar because it was just sweet enough with the strawberry in it. I was able to taste the matcha. The balance of the slightly bitter and the sweet is just right! Overall would go there again. Tasty drinks and nice vibe!
I decided to give UMACHA another try. This is a cute bubble tea shop in a great location - right near Mitsuwa and the Hudson River waterfront. It's small and gets busy quickly, so there's not too much seating available during peak times. The natural lighting and greenery are lovely touches to the ambiance. Their menu has plenty of Japanese specialty drinks to choose from - milk teas, fruit teas, coffee, and matcha. I wasn't impressed with the two drinks I ordered last time, so I went with something different. I ordered the Ceylon Black Milk Tea with boba (~$7) and I LOVED it! The tea to milk ratio was on point. The tea was strong and bold with just the right amount of bitter notes. The brown sugar syrup and milk complemented the bitterness. I requested the lowest sugar level and the barista nailed it! My only complaint is that the tapioca pearls could've been more chewy. I'm glad I gave them another shot! The employees were very friendly. Even though the line was growing every minute, they still managed to keep up with the drink orders in a reasonable amount of time. I will be trying more drinks in the future and I hope they'll be just as good as this one.
Yummy bubble tea shop right across from Mitsuwa. The bubble tea we got was slightly too sweet, but I don't remember if they had any customizing options. The boba was especially nice in texture and flavor. I would probably try a regular tea next time.
The bubble tea here is DELICIOUS! Great soft and chewy boba, lots of fun choices on the menu, and both hot and cold teas are good! I ordered the hot jasmine milk tea (large) and an iced cheese foam hojicha tea (also large), to which i added bubbles. The total bill came out to just under $15, so a pretty typical bbt price on 2025. ofc i think a consideration always needs to be bang for buck-- i think the size of the large (16oz) is a bit small for $6 before tax & tip but BOY is the jasmine delicious. The iced hojicha is also very good and I like the cheese foam a lot - flavorful but light (and a good size for a large). I would definitely go here over a gong cha or Kung fu tea since i personally enjoy the types of flavors offered here. The ambiance of the café is classy and casual at once (very hip korean style) and the service was great! The cashier asked if I'd like sugar or ice adjusted and the drinks were prepared in under 5 min!

Umacha has severely updated their menu, service, and has changed locations. Their previous location was not serving them at all, and was just a few steps away from where they're currently located. Parking can be difficult depending on the day. Weekends and holidays are much busier than weekdays. But the service is always outstanding and the same. The girls here are so enjoyable to talk to! Even when I'm taking a photo or video in this aesthetic environment they're so nice about it!! This place is almost always busy now, and good they deserve it! It's super pretty inside. The seating is much better compared to the old place. I'm very happy Umacha had a full on glow up! These workers know how to handle the flow of traffic with efficiency, cleanliness, and timeliness. They should all be commended! My boyfriend and I always get their strawberry matcha latte and it's delicious! With real strawberries at the bottom! I want to try some of their other menu items too. The waffles look delicious. I'm glad I came back because at their old location I had a horrible experience.
I love Match smoothie. I was looking for avocado but it was not available. The place is neat and clean and the staff are courteous. I will try other offers next time.
What a fantastic boba tea store!!! One of the best I have been to. They so justify their name of Umai meaning tasty cha (tea). As we walked into the store, the line was out the door. But it moves swiftly, had to only wait about 10 minutes to order. The store has few tables to dine-in. It has a minimalist Japanese vibe. The sells its own merchandise as well. The menu has some amazing options. We picked the strawberry tea and mango (merry me) lemonade. We got the boba and mango jelly as toppings. Other than drinks that also have small bakery items. Our order came out with 5-10 minutes. Both drinks had such delightful refreshing taste. The toppings were equally great quality. I am so bumped they only have one store in Bergen county. If I ever driving by River Road, I'll be surely stopping by them to get some tea from here.
Love this place! Great to satisfy my bbt craving as I shop! Love their brown sugar bbt and they even have brown sugar milk version for my daughter (no caffeine).
Came here on Mother's Day and, as you'd expect, it was pretty crowded - especially with the Mitsuwa crowd coming over. We ordered a Love Me (Milk + Strawberry + Cheese Cream) and a Mango Slush + Cheese Cream. Verdict? Solid drinks. The Love Me was a bit on the underwhelming side though and I didn't feel like it had much flavor to it. If anything, it felt like I was drinking plain milk. The Mango Slush + Cheese Cream was FANTASTIC though. It was very refreshing and it was very easy to spot/taste the cheese cream in each sip. The menu was actually quite large and there were a whole plethora of other drinks I wanted to try, so we'll DEFINITELY be back one day when we're in the area.
This cute little spot located right across the street from Mitsuwa. They used to be right off the water, but it was for too big of space. They have an array of different coffees and bubble teas to choose from prices are fairly reasonable. Staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. We got the mango Matcha, which was delicious and I got a brown sugar milk tea. Definitely a great spot to grab some drinks and have a chat with friends.
Highly recommend this milk tea spot! Beautiful views and great teas. It's located where the Mitsuwa shopping center is. We got the Hoji Milk tea with the brown sugar bubbles and it was the best milk tea I have had. I have tried so many tea places living in Los Angeles and this place by far is my number 1! I wish we had one of these places where I live. The views of this place is so beautiful right on the water and you can see NYC. I will definitely be back again and again and again. I highly recommend to anyone who loves milk teas and fruit teas. The interior was super cute and modern and the service was great too. My friend had brought me a jasmine bubble milk tea from Umacha in the past, and even after a whole afternoon and a long commute to Queens, the drink was still pretty good! Another day after sushi nearby and roaming Mitsuwa, my friend, sister and I decided to stop by here for some cool beverages. Located right behind Mitsuwa by the water, the exterior AND the interior are super aesthetic and make for a perfect chill/stroll spot. I got the "Kiss Me" (peach tea) with less sugar and I was completely blown away. The tea was perfectly sweet and so refreshing and not to mention cute to look at! I enjoyed the little fruit chunks that came with the drink. Cannot wait to come back and get this again one day. My sister got the hojicha latte with bubbles which was also solid for satisfying a milkier tea option. Will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area! read more

Beautiful bubble tea cafe overlooking the Hudson River Don-Chan is very sweet and savory with rich caramel taste with a smokiness that is intriguing and overall unique. It was a bit too sweet for me, but I think this was the highlight of the drinks I have tried here Kiss me is more refreshing and less sweet. It tastes reminiscent of the peach drinks that many Asian kids probably had packed into their school lunches growing up. It tastes like a fancy version of my childhood :) Overall Umacha is a bit pricy but given the location and the flavor I would venture back read more

You know those places where you discover a new favorite thing and you say you'll try something new every time you go, but you always wind up ordering the same thing every time because you're craving it and will deeply regret walking away from the establishment without ordering it? That's the "Don-Chan" (cheese cream, milk, and brown sugar boba) for me lol. The cheese cream is light and the boba is warm and perfectly chewy. When you mix everything together, it's the perfect drink when you're craving something sweet. Highly recommend! read more

Great bubble tea shop located right behind Mitsuwa. Not usually a big fan of bubble tea and always find these drinks to be a bit pricey; however, the drink was quite refreshing especially after a long walk along the waterfront walkway. It's a bit sweet but the cheese cream made it interesting. There is a small area in the front to sit. Got our drink in a couple of minutes which was quick. Hope the side will be opened back up as it will be nice to walk out a bit further to enjoy the gorgeous NYC skyline. Photos from other Yelpers showed that the inside looked very cute too but it's closed during the pandemic. Be safe everyone. Hope the pandemic will be over soon and business can be completely opened up again. read more

I do not even like bubble tea, but this place literally had the best bubble tea i've ever had in my life! they had some food menu and it also looked really yummy and i need to come back to try!, love that they have super cute outdoor seating right along the water. read more

Lately, I've been on a Bubble Milk Tea obsession. Kung Fu Tea, Modern Tea, Gong Cha, Cafe Zio are some of the places I've visited recently. I have some opinions of them but Umacha is a good one. Ordered was a Iced Ceylon Black Milk Tea with bubbles. The Ceylon Black Tea flavor was apparent through the sweetness level (30%), creamy dairy and bubbles. Simple, clean flavors without any artificial flavors. The bubbles were cooked to perfection, soft on the outside but a slight chew in the middle. Umacha is located in a vast area that has plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating. It's a great place to decompress and enjoy a sweet treat. I'll definitely will return to try out the Brown Sugar Match Milk and the Brown Sugar Milk Tea. read more
I like their view and the entire atmosphere there. Very relaxing with a great photo and video background inside and outside the shop. There are tables and seats inside the shop and a good number of outdoor seatings as well. Their drinks are not bad. I ordered a Hoiji cha milk tea that comes with boba. It was good but maybe a bit sweet for me. If i lowered the sugar level, I believe it would be perfect. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to try their crepe, maybe next time. read more

Hands down one of the best bubble tea places I've been to in a while! My sister and I went to Mitsuwa (and NJ) for the first time a few months back and with Ümacha being right behind Mitsuwa, it was hard to stop ourselves from grabbing some tea. Even while sitting in Mitsuwa, my eyes were constantly drawn to Ümacha. Did I mention that the store was soooo pretty? Anyways, I ordered the Don-Chan and my sister tried the Wild & Tough, and both drinks were absolutely delicious (yes, I snuck an extra sip or two from my sister's drink, which was way more than she signed up for hehe)! Cream cheese + milk + brown sugar bubbles, that's the Don-Chan. Sugar and ice were non-customizable for this drink, which was a bummer, as I usually like my brown sugar drinks less sweet. Nevertheless, it's still amazing. It's sweet, it's savory, and a tad bit smoky... all together, that's a heavenly combination right there! Grapefruit tea. Two simple words, that's the Wild & Tough. Sugar and ice were customizable, and with my sister being the person she is, obviously, she got it with no sugar. Surprisingly enough, it's still really delicious. It's fruity, it's light, and hella refreshing. I can see why it's easily one of their most popular drinks. Overall, beautiful view, tasty drinks, and a gorgeous interior design. If it weren't for the location and the fact that I can't drive, I'd be here every day. Absolutely worth a visit! Highly recommend. read more
Craving brown sugar boba & milk tea? This is your spot. What they also have that's a step above other boba shops is Cheese Cream - that's usually served like a foam on top. You can customize the amount of ice and sugar in your drink as well if you want to tone it down or ramp it up. The setting is beautiful and a great place to relax especially in the afternoon where the shade covers the outdoor patio and the breeze from the water helps cool off a hot day. read more

Hmmm I might need to have a few more tries to get a good base review. I feel like drinking bubble tea after a full meal takes out a little bit of the joy as I get distracted from the fullness of my stomach lol Today I tried Kawa-chan, which is said to be one of their best sellers. I could taste the oolong tea but i think it was watered down. The Tsuyo was good though and I could still get the bitterness of the matcha and the sweetness of brown sugar. The cheese creams were nice and subtle! I liked that its light and not overly sweet. Looking forward to seeing how this place may bustle during warmer weathers. With the place right next to the hudson and city view, im guessing this would also be a nice spot for tea-riffic shots. read more

New spot right next to mitsuwa. Doesnt have any slushes here. Prices are standard - 5 to 6 dollars. The staff seems so disorganized. They have 5 people behind the bar making drinks yet I had to wait 10 minutes for my drinks. Everyone is running into each other behind the bar Also, they forgot the cheese foam in my drink, which I had to explain to 2 people for the first girl to even understand what I was saying. I dislike it when people just waste food - they threw my mistake drink away - if you're just going to throw it away, might as well have given it for free or just add the cream on top read more
I'd like to say I'm a boba connoisseur, we bought the jasmine bubble tea, matcha latte, and the wild and tough tea (grapefruit). The line wrapped around the counter, but was moving at a decent pace. The ladies at the register were helpful, we asked if they could use almond milk instead of regular milk and let us know that they used milk free powders. All the drinks tasted good. The boba for me was a little dense, sweet, and had a good bite but didn't feel like it was old boba. After getting boba there's an outside patio specific to this establish with great views. You'll have to go get boba and witness that one for yourself read more
Got a hojicha milk tea. Even with the lower sweetness it was still very sweet. The bubble is too soft for my likely. The place seems like a great study spot with lots of seatings. They were quick with their service but I was also there when it wasn't busy. read more

The drinks are delicous. My favorite is the number 1, if I come to Mitsuwa I always have to stop by and get it. Tapioca is freshly made and taste delicious with the cold drink. They are now allowing people inside instead of ordering at the window. Just walk in through the front door of the hot pot restaurant and the ordering station is to the right. There's even seating on the outside with a beautiful view. read more
The best boba tea I have ever had.. ever. And I have had a lot of boba tea. My absolute fave is the Wild and Tough (Grapefruit Green Tea). It's out of this world. Fresh grapefruit juice, slices of actual grapefruit, and a mint leaf. It's such a refreshing drink. I also order it with boba which is homemade and warm. I'm addicted. The brown sugar boba drink is also very good! Their prices are reasonable for the quality of ingredients that they use and the size of their drinks. Amazing patio right on the Hudson River in the back of their store. Plenty of seating and wifi! Also the owner is a suuuper sweet hardworking woman of color. 5/5 I'm a huge fan. read more
Came here after grabbing a meal from the mitsuwa food court. I got the brown sugar matcha milk with boba with my friend! Unfortunately, I was unable to customize the sugar and ice levels of this drink but I still ended up enjoying it (as did my friend)! It was definitely nice and refreshing to take my drink and walk along the river. Prices were similar to other bubble tea shops. There was a line, but it moved fairly quick. Would definitely come back if I ever make the trip to edgewater again :) read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon since I was already shopping at Mitsuwa and Daiso. The cafe was cute and had a lot of indoor or outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was nice since you get a good view of the river. I ordered a hot Hug Me (passion fruit tea) since it was a cold day. I like that they use real tea and add passion fruit puree so it was very fruity. Service was fast and friendly. I would come back and try other drinks - a lot of people ordered the Don-chan (cream cheese with brown sugar boba) so I'll try that next time. read more

About a minute walk from Mitsuwa, you'll find Umacha, a bubble tea place with great views of the NYC skyline and a nice patio to sit, relax and potentially to fall asleep comfortably if the weather is warm enough. Stop on by over here either before or after your shopping and/or dining at Mitsuwa for relaxing time while sipping on your bubble tea! read more
Went for Dessert Food - 5/5. Quiet possibly my favorite bubble tea spot! You can really taste the deep flavor of the tea that is paired so well with the creaminess of the milk. It has just the right amount of sweetness for it to be delicious yet subtle enough to sip consistently. The bubbles have an amazing bite with the perfect balance of soft and chewy. Service - 4/5. Professional and fast. Value - 5/5. The prices are typical with most drinks being between $5-6. Competition for bubble tea in the area is high but UMACHA stands out with their high quality. Yummy bubble tea right by mitsuwa marketplace closer to the waters. The inside is very cute! They sell plants, forever roses, and have an aesthetic backdrop with their name on it. They also sell hotdogs here too which I thought was interesting. I got the don cha ($5.85) which is their number 1, strawberry cream, and hojicha milk tea. My favorite out of the three was the don cha which is a brown sugar bubble tea with cheese foam on top. The strawberry cream tasted like a strawberry shortcake which was really good for the heat. Super cute in the inside with all the plants, cactus, and roses they have to sell. They have roses that last 1-3 years available for purchase. Will definitely come back for more drinks next time I'm back! read more
I love coming to Umacha! It's a great place for good bubble tea and a good time with friends with a great view. I like getting the fruit teas here but my favorite tea is anything topped with cheese foam! They make the best cheese foam! They provided stellar service as well. It was busy when I went but they got my order ready very quick! 10/10 recommend if you're in the area read more

I've wanted to try this place for a while, and it didn't disappoint! It's right behind Mitsuwa, and on a Sunday afternoon there were quite some people. I tried the Hug Me & Kiss Me (lol, those are the names for their fruit teas). I think their more popular drinks are the milk teas, but I'm more of a fruit tea gal when it comes to boba. One of them is peach flavored and one is passion fruit flavored and the taste for both were on point. If you don't like your drinks sweet though, I would consider doing no sugar at all. One of them comes with lychee jelly already and I added brown sugar boba to the other. I definitely confused the cashier a little bit, but all their iced drinks come in 24oz - you can't get the smaller size. Kind of a bummer, they also sell snacks and hot dogs. I'm not sure if I would crave this, but the drinks definitely taste fresher than bubble tea chains I would say and it's very pretty :) read more
I got 2 drinks, the matcha latte with cheese foam & bubbles and the peach tea. I am in love with my drinks. The matcha flavor is strong, the cheese foam is delicious, and the bubbles are so soft and chewy. It was SO good. The peach tea is definitely amazing. I have tried many boba tea places, but I am very impressed with this place! The views and decor is very fancy for a bubble tea store. Sitting in a comfy chair, enjoying the lake view, and having a delicious cup of tea, I called it's heaven on earth Check out this place if you have a chance! read more
