Got an iced jasmine milk tea with boba. It was tasty. The "medium" will cost you almost $7. The boba was good, chewy and not mushy. The jasmine tea was just ok, not strong enough to stand against the milk. I do wish there was more of a jasmine tea flavor but there was a hint of floral. I enjoyed it. My partner got a hot americano, not that great. Coffee gave paper bag, iykyk. I'm unsure of what coffee they use but there was marketing material displayed advertising coffee drinks. Staff was friendly, window seating was perfect.
Very good flavorful bubble tea well priced. Much better than the fake sugary bubble tea in mitsuwa. I got the mango lemonade with no sugar and it was sweet and sour and had a bright refreshing taste. I loved the star jelly, it was firm and chewy and fruity. The ambiance is cute, small store with some tables. The drink came out quickly, service was nice but I think they were a little bored.
Lovely tea store by Mitsuwa market. It's quite small. Only a few tables and seats available. Must people do take out. Lots options for regular tea, milk tea, fruit tea etc. I got Ceylon black tea. Rich tea flavor. But it's more on the bitter taste side. I probably will try something else next time. The staff are friendly. Lots of customers in the afternoon. It took some time for the drinks to come out. Overall a good tea spot.
Atmosphere: 5 Such a cute boba shop! I love the warm decor and I can see hanging out here. There was a long line when I came and I took my drink to go. It seems like they have some collaboration with a local seller because some cactus that were displayed had price tags on them. For sale I bet! I love that! Service: 5 The drink was prepared pretty quick and the person at the cashier was patient when I couldn't decide what to get. I even got a stamp card to come back! Flavors: 5 I'm glad I was able to order my strawberry matcha without sugar because it was just sweet enough with the strawberry in it. I was able to taste the matcha. The balance of the slightly bitter and the sweet is just right! Overall would go there again. Tasty drinks and nice vibe!
I decided to give UMACHA another try. This is a cute bubble tea shop in a great location - right near Mitsuwa and the Hudson River waterfront. It's small and gets busy quickly, so there's not too much seating available during peak times. The natural lighting and greenery are lovely touches to the ambiance. Their menu has plenty of Japanese specialty drinks to choose from - milk teas, fruit teas, coffee, and matcha. I wasn't impressed with the two drinks I ordered last time, so I went with something different. I ordered the Ceylon Black Milk Tea with boba (~$7) and I LOVED it! The tea to milk ratio was on point. The tea was strong and bold with just the right amount of bitter notes. The brown sugar syrup and milk complemented the bitterness. I requested the lowest sugar level and the barista nailed it! My only complaint is that the tapioca pearls could've been more chewy. I'm glad I gave them another shot! The employees were very friendly. Even though the line was growing every minute, they still managed to keep up with the drink orders in a reasonable amount of time. I will be trying more drinks in the future and I hope they'll be just as good as this one.
Yummy bubble tea shop right across from Mitsuwa. The bubble tea we got was slightly too sweet, but I don't remember if they had any customizing options. The boba was especially nice in texture and flavor. I would probably try a regular tea next time.
The bubble tea here is DELICIOUS! Great soft and chewy boba, lots of fun choices on the menu, and both hot and cold teas are good! I ordered the hot jasmine milk tea (large) and an iced cheese foam hojicha tea (also large), to which i added bubbles. The total bill came out to just under $15, so a pretty typical bbt price on 2025. ofc i think a consideration always needs to be bang for buck-- i think the size of the large (16oz) is a bit small for $6 before tax & tip but BOY is the jasmine delicious. The iced hojicha is also very good and I like the cheese foam a lot - flavorful but light (and a good size for a large). I would definitely go here over a gong cha or Kung fu tea since i personally enjoy the types of flavors offered here. The ambiance of the café is classy and casual at once (very hip korean style) and the service was great! The cashier asked if I'd like sugar or ice adjusted and the drinks were prepared in under 5 min!
Loooooooove it! Service is good and you can tell they use premium matcha and strawberry jam. I wish they have hot strawberry matcha too
Umacha has severely updated their menu, service, and has changed locations. Their previous location was not serving them at all, and was just a few steps away from where they're currently located. Parking can be difficult depending on the day. Weekends and holidays are much busier than weekdays. But the service is always outstanding and the same. The girls here are so enjoyable to talk to! Even when I'm taking a photo or video in this aesthetic environment they're so nice about it!! This place is almost always busy now, and good they deserve it! It's super pretty inside. The seating is much better compared to the old place. I'm very happy Umacha had a full on glow up! These workers know how to handle the flow of traffic with efficiency, cleanliness, and timeliness. They should all be commended! My boyfriend and I always get their strawberry matcha latte and it's delicious! With real strawberries at the bottom! I want to try some of their other menu items too. The waffles look delicious. I'm glad I came back because at their old location I had a horrible experience.
What a fantastic boba tea store!!! One of the best I have been to. They so justify their name of Umai meaning tasty cha (tea). As we walked into the store, the line was out the door. But it moves swiftly, had to only wait about 10 minutes to order. The store has few tables to dine-in. It has a minimalist Japanese vibe. The sells its own merchandise as well. The menu has some amazing options. We picked the strawberry tea and mango (merry me) lemonade. We got the boba and mango jelly as toppings. Other than drinks that also have small bakery items. Our order came out with 5-10 minutes. Both drinks had such delightful refreshing taste. The toppings were equally great quality. I am so bumped they only have one store in Bergen county. If I ever driving by River Road, I'll be surely stopping by them to get some tea from here.
I love Match smoothie. I was looking for avocado but it was not available. The place is neat and clean and the staff are courteous. I will try other offers next time.
Love this place! Great to satisfy my bbt craving as I shop! Love their brown sugar bbt and they even have brown sugar milk version for my daughter (no caffeine).
Came here on Mother's Day and, as you'd expect, it was pretty crowded - especially with the Mitsuwa crowd coming over. We ordered a Love Me (Milk + Strawberry + Cheese Cream) and a Mango Slush + Cheese Cream. Verdict? Solid drinks. The Love Me was a bit on the underwhelming side though and I didn't feel like it had much flavor to it. If anything, it felt like I was drinking plain milk. The Mango Slush + Cheese Cream was FANTASTIC though. It was very refreshing and it was very easy to spot/taste the cheese cream in each sip. The menu was actually quite large and there were a whole plethora of other drinks I wanted to try, so we'll DEFINITELY be back one day when we're in the area.

(Back in July) The 2nd cheese bubble place I've been too. It's getting to be a thing On the Hudson River literally 20 mins wait on the weekend Saturday Smaller menu compared to another cheese tea place in a nearby town Front man was busy & didn't greet me but I asked what was most popular between the only 2 cheese bubble teas, either brown sugar or matcha & he said brown sugar I asked for extra cheese but the lady behind him said they couldn't do it She prepared it in a quick minute & found lots of space in the cap for the extra You need to mix it bcuz the bubbles are really sweet & gets balanced when the milk is swirled The cheese was a thin layer & very light, you can barely taste it. It gets lost I've tried a better somewhere else with a smile, so I'll come back here only the other place isn't an option for cravings read more
I always come here for the brown sugar milk with less sweetness level. But the last two times I came here I ordered the Ceylon black milk and Ceylon black tea and it so nice and smooth. If you want something less sweet than the brown sugar milk then I think the Ceylon drinks are a much better substitute for the brown sugar milk drink. read more
This is a little spot that had opened in the back of Mitsuwa supermarket; very nice since it's front of the skyline view. I like how gave the vibes of an ice cream place lol. Umacha is known for their cheese foam, which I cannot lie, it's pretty damn good. The toppings here are made into perfection *chefs kiss* Their special drinks, though, you are not able to customize the sugar or whatever. Which is fine because, guys, please be aware that they make it the drinks to perfection. Yasss hunnie everything is to the T here, no need to mess with God's work. However, only thing was that the prices are kind of steep since the size of the drinks were not at all big. My friend and I had joke about how they have a little Umacha club in the back where you can sit and drink your boba. It's a pretty nice view where it's at. I would suggest the Don Chan and Tsuyo Chan -- so good! read more
After shopping at mitsuwa, my sister and I walked over to umacha for some drinks. It is a very cute shop with a great view of the city skyline. I ordered the hug me lemonade and my sister ordered the wild & tough fruit tea with lychee jelly. Both were really refreshing. They have a rewards system where you order certain amount of drinks over time and you'll get a discount or a free drink. They also had a 10% off discount for their customers to enjoy the shabu shabu hot pot restaurant upstairs. We will definitely be back to try the food. read more

With an aesthetic exterior, I'm sad that I won't get to see the interior of this relatively new boba place! Because of the pandemic, you can only purchase at the window and drink/eat outside or buy takeout. Residing by the water with views of the skyline, UMACHA presents the perfect opportunity to get a nice picture of your bubble tea for instagram. Like others have mentioned, this bubble tea is pricier. There is a large variety of options whether you're into sweeter drinks, something fruity and refreshing, or everything in between. You can customize the sugar and ice levels for most drinks except the ones indicated that you can't. You can also add toppings like brown sugar bubbles, honey aloe, lychee jellies, and their signature topping cheese cream. Some drinks, like the Don-Chan I ordered, only come in one size: 16 oz. If you're into sweet things like me, Don-Chan is a great choice where you can try the cheese cream and brown sugar bubbles. I got the milk as opposed to the milk tea option, which meshed well with the toppings. The bubbles were my favorite bubbles I've tried from any boba shop so far with the right amount of chewiness and coating of brown sugar. The cheese cream didn't really do anything for me, it just tasted like foam with a hint of cheese. I definitely prefer the salted cheese foam from Happy Lemon. Overall, UMACHA is a tasteful addition to this area. I recommend getting your drink with the bubbles and easing up on the sugar! read more
What a cute af spot!!! I got the "wild and tough" drink which is fruity, light, and refreshing. I added brownsugar boba with no mint because mint can get in the way of my drinks and I don't want to deal with it. Still very delicious without. The ambiance is beautiful with clean open concepts. Many indoor and outdoor seating options as well. It is very hot outside when we visited the shop but since it's by the water the breeze is very nice and the out door seats were very shaded. read more
I ordered the Take-chan cheese cream tea. The cream tasted like milk instead of cheese, that's why it was disappointing. It was alright. I had better in Asia. The ones in Asia, the cream would taste like cheese in a sweet and craving way. That's why this one didn't compare to the ones that I had in Asia. It was A-OK experience read more
I am a huge fan of their Japanese flavors! From matcha to hoji cha and to the ever so popular brown sugar bubble tea. They advertise hard on their cheese foam series. The one I tried was the Tsuyo-chan which had cheese foam, milk, brown sugar bubbles, and matcha. I usually order my bubble tea with less sugar but this one is nonadjustable. Knowing that brown sugar bubbles would probably make the drink very sweet, I found that the drink was very well balanced with flavors - matcha with milk and brown sugar, what a perfect combo. I also ordered the hoji cha (roasted green tea) bubble milk tea and it was delicious. I am probably biased for hoji cha but it was definitely a treat. Umacha's bubble tea is such a good addition to the Mitsuwa plaza because most likely, their drinks would pair very well with the food you buy in Mitsuwa. read more

I guess this opened during the pandemic because I've never seen this before whenever I use to visit Mitsuwa. Right now I'm on a mission to be healthier but I can't deny myself some boba tea so I ordered the Geisha Queen & Golden Feather. I got honey aloe and lychee jelly. The drinks were delicious and didn't feel overloaded with sweetness. The interior is so boujee and nice I didn't think it was a boba spot! There's a shabu shabu on the second floor. Drinks are a tad pricey but they have to pay rent! I would come back and try their best sellers. read more

UMACHA really gave me nostalgic feels of my travels to Taipei because it has a walk up window for ordering bubble tea. I ordered the jasmine green tea bubble tea with cheese cream. I am honestly not even a fan of cheese foam cream, but I got it since it was their specialty. It was an okay taste. I like that the cream was light and moderately sweet. I am lactose intolerant so it was not the best idea to order that topping anyway... Next time I want to judge based on my usual bubble tea order i.e. oolong milk tea with no sugar. Otherwise, I think it is great that a boba shop opened next to Mitsuwa so you can get a wide variety of dessert choices in one spot. Bonus points for great outdoor decor and the VIEWS! read more

I was shopping at mitsuwa and while walking around the area, I came across this boba place. The location is in the back of mitsuwa and it was beautiful because it next to a river and you can see NYC. I ordered the boba sugar milk tea and the kiss me fruit tea. The boba drink was not bad. Had a good taste of the brown sugar but had better elsewhere. The kiss me drink was a peach tea. The tea had a very natural peach flavor and does not taste artificial which I like. I would get that drink again. The service was very quick. Would come back to try the other flavors. read more

I lovee fruit teas and bubble teas without milk in general, and Umacha has really good ones!! I order Kiss Me when I want something refreshing and fruity. But my go to bubble tea from Umacha is Golden Feather! The sweetness level is just right and the flavor is amazing! Also, there are plenty of cute photo op places to take pictures of your bubble tea Definitely recommend!! read more

Just discovered this amazing bubble tea spot while shopping at Mitsuwa. ÜMACHA is located right outside Mitsuwa overlooking the water next to Hudson Pot. Husband got the Tsuyo-Chan that's caffeinated and I got the Brown Sugar matcha milk. We are both picky when it comes to bubble tea and this place did not disappoint. We weren't able to adjust any levels of sugar but it wasn't necessary as it was very good as is. The boba was warm and had a nice chew. They had a hint of sweetness that went well with our teas. Wished the drinks could've came in a bigger size, we were trying to savor each sip. read more

Located next to the Mitsuwa Market and the Hudson River, this boba shop is in a great location. Its brand exudes luxury, with aesthetic signs, fresh ingredients, and a vine-adorned arch prime for pictures. I ordered the Don-chan (Cheese cream, milk, and brown sugar boba) and Kiss Me (Peach tea drink with fruit). I was skeptical of the Don-chan, as it seemed to just mash together two trends. I actually really liked the combination! The cream was light and the boba was chewy, warm, and sweet with a deep flavor. Visually, it was gorgeous. The Kiss Me was not as decadent but equally as good. The tea was refreshing but not too sweet. It also comes with fresh fruit. This was a great experience and I'd love to come back to explore more of the menu. read more
Cute little cafe! This gem is tucked behind Mitsuwa and located inside Hudson Pot. Great spot to grab a quick drink fix. Hubby and I ordered the hot matcha latte with brown sugar bubbles. I was very pleased with the flavor. It was just the right amount of sugar and matcha, that I vow to be a frequent patron of this cafe. read more

Nothing special! This venue seems always have businesses that don't last, and I don't expect this one to either. Brown Sugar Matcha Milk with tapioca was my order; the two flavors didn't seem to go together. I'd rather go to Matcha Love in Mitsuwa. Lines were long, staff was disorganized. Hopefully things change for the better! read more

I've had both east and west coast boba & this place is by far better than most places. The cafe has a wonderful view, located in a shabu shabu restaurant, and is right next to Mitsuwa. Overall it's a cute location to have a date, photoshoot, or hang out :) Definitely would recommend this place to anyone visiting this area of Edgewater. read more
