Very good flavorful bubble tea well priced. Much better than the fake sugary bubble tea in mitsuwa. I got the mango lemonade with no sugar and it was sweet and sour and had a bright refreshing taste. I loved the star jelly, it was firm and chewy and fruity. The ambiance is cute, small store with some tables. The drink came out quickly, service was nice but I think they were a little bored.
Lovely tea store by Mitsuwa market. It's quite small. Only a few tables and seats available. Must people do take out. Lots options for regular tea, milk tea, fruit tea etc. I got Ceylon black tea. Rich tea flavor. But it's more on the bitter taste side. I probably will try something else next time. The staff are friendly. Lots of customers in the afternoon. It took some time for the drinks to come out. Overall a good tea spot.
Atmosphere: 5 Such a cute boba shop! I love the warm decor and I can see hanging out here. There was a long line when I came and I took my drink to go. It seems like they have some collaboration with a local seller because some cactus that were displayed had price tags on them. For sale I bet! I love that! Service: 5 The drink was prepared pretty quick and the person at the cashier was patient when I couldn't decide what to get. I even got a stamp card to come back! Flavors: 5 I'm glad I was able to order my strawberry matcha without sugar because it was just sweet enough with the strawberry in it. I was able to taste the matcha. The balance of the slightly bitter and the sweet is just right! Overall would go there again. Tasty drinks and nice vibe!
I decided to give UMACHA another try. This is a cute bubble tea shop in a great location - right near Mitsuwa and the Hudson River waterfront. It's small and gets busy quickly, so there's not too much seating available during peak times. The natural lighting and greenery are lovely touches to the ambiance. Their menu has plenty of Japanese specialty drinks to choose from - milk teas, fruit teas, coffee, and matcha. I wasn't impressed with the two drinks I ordered last time, so I went with something different. I ordered the Ceylon Black Milk Tea with boba (~$7) and I LOVED it! The tea to milk ratio was on point. The tea was strong and bold with just the right amount of bitter notes. The brown sugar syrup and milk complemented the bitterness. I requested the lowest sugar level and the barista nailed it! My only complaint is that the tapioca pearls could've been more chewy. I'm glad I gave them another shot! The employees were very friendly. Even though the line was growing every minute, they still managed to keep up with the drink orders in a reasonable amount of time. I will be trying more drinks in the future and I hope they'll be just as good as this one.
Yummy bubble tea shop right across from Mitsuwa. The bubble tea we got was slightly too sweet, but I don't remember if they had any customizing options. The boba was especially nice in texture and flavor. I would probably try a regular tea next time.
The bubble tea here is DELICIOUS! Great soft and chewy boba, lots of fun choices on the menu, and both hot and cold teas are good! I ordered the hot jasmine milk tea (large) and an iced cheese foam hojicha tea (also large), to which i added bubbles. The total bill came out to just under $15, so a pretty typical bbt price on 2025. ofc i think a consideration always needs to be bang for buck-- i think the size of the large (16oz) is a bit small for $6 before tax & tip but BOY is the jasmine delicious. The iced hojicha is also very good and I like the cheese foam a lot - flavorful but light (and a good size for a large). I would definitely go here over a gong cha or Kung fu tea since i personally enjoy the types of flavors offered here. The ambiance of the café is classy and casual at once (very hip korean style) and the service was great! The cashier asked if I'd like sugar or ice adjusted and the drinks were prepared in under 5 min!
Loooooooove it! Service is good and you can tell they use premium matcha and strawberry jam. I wish they have hot strawberry matcha too
Umacha has severely updated their menu, service, and has changed locations. Their previous location was not serving them at all, and was just a few steps away from where they're currently located. Parking can be difficult depending on the day. Weekends and holidays are much busier than weekdays. But the service is always outstanding and the same. The girls here are so enjoyable to talk to! Even when I'm taking a photo or video in this aesthetic environment they're so nice about it!! This place is almost always busy now, and good they deserve it! It's super pretty inside. The seating is much better compared to the old place. I'm very happy Umacha had a full on glow up! These workers know how to handle the flow of traffic with efficiency, cleanliness, and timeliness. They should all be commended! My boyfriend and I always get their strawberry matcha latte and it's delicious! With real strawberries at the bottom! I want to try some of their other menu items too. The waffles look delicious. I'm glad I came back because at their old location I had a horrible experience.
I love Match smoothie. I was looking for avocado but it was not available. The place is neat and clean and the staff are courteous. I will try other offers next time.
What a fantastic boba tea store!!! One of the best I have been to. They so justify their name of Umai meaning tasty cha (tea). As we walked into the store, the line was out the door. But it moves swiftly, had to only wait about 10 minutes to order. The store has few tables to dine-in. It has a minimalist Japanese vibe. The sells its own merchandise as well. The menu has some amazing options. We picked the strawberry tea and mango (merry me) lemonade. We got the boba and mango jelly as toppings. Other than drinks that also have small bakery items. Our order came out with 5-10 minutes. Both drinks had such delightful refreshing taste. The toppings were equally great quality. I am so bumped they only have one store in Bergen county. If I ever driving by River Road, I'll be surely stopping by them to get some tea from here.
Love this place! Great to satisfy my bbt craving as I shop! Love their brown sugar bbt and they even have brown sugar milk version for my daughter (no caffeine).
Came here on Mother's Day and, as you'd expect, it was pretty crowded - especially with the Mitsuwa crowd coming over. We ordered a Love Me (Milk + Strawberry + Cheese Cream) and a Mango Slush + Cheese Cream. Verdict? Solid drinks. The Love Me was a bit on the underwhelming side though and I didn't feel like it had much flavor to it. If anything, it felt like I was drinking plain milk. The Mango Slush + Cheese Cream was FANTASTIC though. It was very refreshing and it was very easy to spot/taste the cheese cream in each sip. The menu was actually quite large and there were a whole plethora of other drinks I wanted to try, so we'll DEFINITELY be back one day when we're in the area.
This cute little spot located right across the street from Mitsuwa. They used to be right off the water, but it was for too big of space. They have an array of different coffees and bubble teas to choose from prices are fairly reasonable. Staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. We got the mango Matcha, which was delicious and I got a brown sugar milk tea. Definitely a great spot to grab some drinks and have a chat with friends.

Parking was very difficult as this parking lot is always busy due to the various stores. However the views and ambiance is very nice and bright inside and out. It's right by the water so a nice stroll or when the weather permits, it provides a great location to sip a drink. Their tapioca balls and mango star jelly are both great quality. We got the mango lemonade (less sugar) with mango star jelly and it was a hit with both kids and adults; the strawberry slushy (can't customize) with cheese cream and mango star jelly was another hit; the coffee cheese cream (regular sugar) was OK; and the Donchan was amazing - you can't customize this one. I have to say though, I recommend you mix the cheese cream well from the start as at the end you only have the cream and it's salty and I don't recommend just drinking that alone. read more

Stopped by Umacha after having lunch in Mitsuwa. I had ordered the number 2 which had matcha, brown sugar, boba, milk, and cheese cream to top. My order was made quickly and it tasted great! It has a good mix of sweet and salty from the cheese cream. The boba had a good consistency not too hard and not too soft. This was what I needed after lunch and needing something sweet. I also noticed they moved to a different store space directly across from Mitsuwa. A little smaller but still a really nice set up with some tables and chairs for customers. read more
~ Hojicha milk tea w/ brown sugar boba (5/5) ~ This is surprisingly good!!!!! The hojicha flavour really comes through!! I have had hojicha latte that barely tastes of hojicha in the past... and hojicha is a pretty rare find in the city, so I'm very greatful that someone is making it right. I recommend ordering no sugar if you don't have a sweet tooth like me, since the brown sugar boba itself is pretty sweet and enough to sweeten up the whole drink (I even ordered less boba to further lower the sweetness of the drink, and also could be why I can taste the hojicha more). The caramel aroma from the brown sugar pairs really well with the roasted flavour of the hojicha. Boba is cooked perfectly, chewy and springy! ~ Matcha Cake (2/5) ~ I really don't enjoy this cake... no matcha flavour and very sweet. The cake texture is alright though, moist sponge and smooth cream, but the whole thing is mostly cream though, and the cream is on the thicker side, so it's too heavy for me. Will I be back? Yes! Only for the hojicha milk tea w/ boba! Perhaps next time I could try matcha? Also, it's located next to the Hudson River, there is a terrace outside where you can enjoy your drink with the lovely view! read more

Can't leave a review on the cheese cream drinks but if they're anything like the brown sugar boba milk or the passion fruit lemonade or the matcha latte ... I bet it's so yum!! Umacha is such a cute spot with great customer service. Never been here before and was curious on what exactly cheese cream was and the young lady who took my order dumbed it down for me. I was told it's has the same consistency of cold foam from Starbucks but was sweet and salty at the same time. Picking up 4 drinks and waiting only 5 mins is a wonderful feeling too. Wishing Umacha continued success!! read more

SUPER CUTE LOCATION AND DECOR! I came with a friend and we were a bit confused because it shares an entrance with a shabu shabu restaurant. The menu has stars for the popular items, and while ordering, they asked us about customizations for the drinks too, including an option for almond milk. The staff was so kind and friendly. The pricing was also not too bad. Other bubble tea places I've gone to charge over ten dollars for one drink. My friend ordered the popular Don-chan milk tea and I ordered the Wild & tough with aloe. Both drinks were very good and fresh! We were only in the neighborhood for another place and decided to stop by. But the next time I visit this area, I would definitely come again! read more

Umacha is a super cute boba shop right along the Hudson River with lots of natural lighting and seats! I have never seen a boba shop with an interior like Umacha. There's also a cute photobooth there, $5 for 2 photo strips!! The booth only takes cash though. Their drinks are also just as amazing! I have been on the hunt for some good brown sugar milk teas on the east coast and Umacha's Don-Chan drink is my number one choice! Really nice drink that doesn't just end up tasting like milk and their boba is warm! Would highly recommend if you're in the area :) read more
Didn't really know what the building was and looked up and walked in, it's a nice tea place with some quick bites you can order. We ordered some bubba tea and the bubba was warm. Like the environment a lot and you can see the city skyline read more
We ordered the brown sugar milk tea with cheese cream and less sugar. The drink was a little too sugary for us, even at 30% sugar. Next time I would probably go for even less. The boba was warm, and I think the brown sugar syrup tasted good swirled in the milk tea. I didn't like the texture of the cheese cream, which I thought was a little too sticky. The space is beautiful- tbh would come back just to sit there and look out on the waterfront on a sunny day. They also set up some lights for the holiday, which I thought was a good touch. read more

Location is on prime real estate and I can imagine it might be nice to sit outside in better weather. But all the indoor and outdoor tables and chairs were worn out, and kind of ruined the aesthetic. Boba was chewy, not over cooked. Overall, okay. Service wasn't friendly but it wasn't mean, so again, just an okay experience read more

Decided to visit UMACHA after seeing it on IG! It's located right by Mitsuwa Marketplace and has plenty of parking. I love how it's located right on the water with views of NYC! My friends and I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite crowded. All of the seats inside and outside were taken but we were able to find a couple of stool chairs towards the front. I ordered the Kiss Me fruit tee which was super refreshing on a hot day. They also sell milk teas, hot teas, bubble crepes and more! I love how you can customize drinks to your liking. This spot is perfect to relax, enjoy a tea and soak in the NYC skyline! read more
Updating my review after coming back for the hoji cha bubble milk tea. I really like this flavor! I ordered it with the "less" sweetness level but I think next time I will ask for unsweetened because the boba is already sweetened. The hoji tea flavor really comes through. It has a roasted tea taste that is robust and flavorful. I didn't realize there was a bubble tea shop behind Mitsuwa that is so popular with yelpers! The inside of this place is ultra trendy. There is seating both indoors and outdoors with spectacular views! It's a great spot to relax and take in the serenity. Like many places, you can customize your drink with the size, sugar and ice levels, and toppings. I ordered the Ceylon black milk tea, with "less sugar" and "less ice". My selection comes with bubbles. The bubbles are sweetened with brown sugar and is hot even though the drink is cold. If you order an iced drink, you'll need to swirl your ice around to cool the bubbles. The bubbles have the right amount of chewiness and is sweet enough to sweeten your drink even if you ask for a low sugar level. The tea had good flavor which comes through. I'd love to come back again to try more! read more

Bougie place without the bougie price tags and one of the best bubble tea places I've gone to in NJ. An immaculate and elegant setting to depressurize. Sitting there sipping your bubble tea beverage, you are offered a scenic view of the Hudson River. It is by far the most beautiful bubble tea shop I have ever been to. Plenty of room for you to meet up with friends or go there on an informal date at night and see all the lights twinkle. Breathtakingly beautiful. The average price of bubble tea can now run from $6 - $8 for a large depending on what type of drink you get at many bubble tea shops, especially the bubble tea franchise shops. Here at Umacha, they also offer an assortment of bubble teas and Umacha's highest and most coveted drinks will run you $6.25 for a 24 oz. They also offer almond milk as dairy-free milk alternatives for any lactose-intolerant person, such as myself. Like many places, you can adjust the sugar level (0% for me, please), the amount of ice (none for me, please), and your choice of topping. They are more limited with the offering of toppings, which only include, cheese cream, brown sugar bubble, honey aloe, and lychee jelly at various price points. I ordered one of Uma's most popular Ceylon black milk tea with bubbles and almond milk ($5.55/24 oz) and another, Hoji Cha milk tea with bubbles ($5.55/24 oz). Both were outstanding. The bobas had the perfect balance of softness and chewy texture and the flavors of the teas were not overshadowed by the milk. Manhattan skyline, indoor and outdoor seating, delicious bubble drinks at fantastic prices, I will definitely be back. read more
Umacha is a great bubble tea spot located in a short walk away from a mall with many Japanese shops/supermarkets. I was super glad I didn't settle for other bubble tea in mitsuwa's food court because umacha was such a treat. Although I did not get a bubble tea, I ordered one of their specials - a refreshing matcha slush with cheese foam on top. On the warm day we came, it was exactly what I needed to cool off. Inside seating is very cozy and instagram friendly! They also have outside seating overlooking the Hudson which makes it perfect spot to relax after walking around in the mall. read more
This is an excellent cafe for tea. We had the Tsuyochan (cheese cream + matcha + milk + brown sugar boba which was excellent. One of the best I've had. It has a good blend of flavors. You can taste the tea, the sweet and chewy boba and the cheese cream which is a little salty and just work together perfectly. The cafe is right next to the water with a really good view and plenty of seatings inside and outside. The decor is beautiful. The drink was $6.5 which is worth it given the beautiful location and decor. Both me and my wife loved it. read more

Looking for a boba place with refreshing drinks, a river view, and an instagram worthy interior? UMACHA has those qualities. In the summer heat, the boba and refreshing outdoor breeze kept us going. I ordered the ceylon milk tea and it tasted like a normal milk tea but there was this syrup at the bottom that once mixed, added some oomph to the drink. On top if that, the boba was soft but chewy, not soft and slimy. This boba complemented our meal right before this and was the cherry on top during our visit to this shopping center! read more

my favorite bubble tea place. boba always comes warm, sugary, and soft. not a great amount of seats but if you are able to sit down there is free wifi for you to study and catch up on some work. plenty of parking in the back. use their loyalty cards, when you reach a certain number of drinks you can get a free drink! read more

Hidden gem out in Edgewater! We came for the Japanese supermarket nearby and decided to check out UMACHA, and I was surprised by the high quality. The tea is very fragrant and not too sweet, and there was a perfect ratio of tea to cheese foam. The cup was pretty large also and I love the little patio area they have - a great place to enjoy the New York skyline. read more

Boba done right in the tri state area! I'm very, very familiar with boba (have tried everything from Tiger Sugar, Mogee Tea, Yi Fang, One Zo, to the basic KFT and I've got to say UMACHA knows how to do boba! There are really two main elements to boba and that's the tea + boba components. Lots of places lack in one or the other but this spot does it justice with both. The tea is not overly strong, you can still taste the flavor and it's not the powdery stuff you get at the cheap non authentic boba shops. You could probably find stronger tea flavors in other boba shops but this place does the job just fine with no lack in flavor in my opinion. Now onto the boba...the actual boba itself was made fresh when I got my drink, and it's going to be a bit warm (it's supposed to be!) because that's how you know it's fresh and the texture will be good. Usually when boba isn't warm that means it could have been left out for some time or soaked and that means hard/chewy boba which isn't good. This boba is soft, a little mushy but bouncy and still chewy without being hard or dense. Aka the perfect boba texture! I also like that they didn't overly ice my drink (asked for less ice). What to get? Try their Cheese Brown Sugar Milk Tea, which is their signature drink. Be aware you can't adjust sugar levels on this one, but once you try it you'll realize that it's still good and not overly sweet. I usually take my drinks at 30% sugar and didn't think this drink was too sweet. They have nice patio seating outside with views of the city/Hudson River so you can get your best boba pics in if you so desire. Come at sunset! :) Overall, I liked this drink more than tiger sugar which I find a bit too sweet, and the boba is better than the other places I mentioned. It's a perfect boba drink next to Mitsuwa marketplace so come get your sweet fix here after shopping around at Daiso! I'll need to try their matcha boba next time... read more
My friend surprised me a jasmine bubble milk tea this week and it was really good! It was the first time I actually tried jasmine milk tea- I normally get earl grey, oolong or regular black milk tea. This was a refreshing change. I did drink it hours later, so I'll need to try it more 'fresh' next time. read more
This is my second time here and I go specifically for the cheese cream! I get the #7 with no bubbles, regular ice, regular sugar, add cheese cream. It's perfect and delicious. Cheese cream is slightly salty, mixed with the tea gives it a perfect taste. Refreshing. read more

I visited Umacha in Edgewater early in the morning and found that the boba wasn't ready yet, but it didn't bother us. We tried the Ceylon milk tea, which had a rich, aromatic flavor with a smooth, creamy finish, and the hojicha milk tea, offering a toasty, nutty taste with a subtle sweetness. Both were to our liking. Their matcha drinks are also quite good. The store is clean, spacious, and bright. read more
I'm always a fan of cheese cream drinks, so I was happy to try out Umacha's selection of drinks. I got the #4 (Takechan which is the Jasmine Green Tea with Cheese Cream). I got the drink with less sugar since I usually don't want my drinks to be too sweet -- I think I would recommend trying it with normal sweetness because I felt my drink was lacking something. Regardless, I thought the tea flavor was good, and the cheese cream was also well-made! This wasn't my favorite drink, but definitely a solid option. The interior of the store was also very inviting, and the outdoor seating area has wonderful views. I would come back here again to try some of the other drinks! read more
Pros: the view is unbeatable. On the Hudson River in Edgewater, you can drink your drink while taking in a trillion dollar view! Plus I like that you can customize the level of ice and sweetness in some of the drinks. Cons: I ordered the brown sugar milk tea with Cheese cream. The waitress mentioned it was a sweet savory topping that was specific umacha. It was not good. I thought the salt would make the drink sweeter (like adding salt to chocolate cookies), but it was way too salty and wasn't enjoyable for me. Thankfully, the rest of the milk tea with brown sugar boba was ok and drinkable. And since the cheese cream was on top I just threw it away. The cheese cream is $1.50 extra so unless you like a salty drink, I'd skip it. $8 plus $1 tip is kinda pricey for 16 oz drink. Overall umacha was ok, but I likely won't be back. read more

I am addicted to bubble tea so to find this local place was a home run! Not only does this cafe provide customers a great view of the Hudson River and NYC Skyline, their variety of drinks and fresh ingredients (fresh fruits and mint, etc) is what keeps me coming here! read more
Place This place is a matcha store seems like a dream. I was amazed by the interior design. It looked like you could have an event here. Service The service was good. There are patient while I looked at the various options of bubble. Food/price I got to try some of my friends boba and all were pretty good. I got an oolang tasting boba (I forgot the actual flavor) but it was a light Burnt taste that really complimented the breezy weather. The price is around $7 but that's normal for boba. Audience I went with my friends but good for all audiences like kids and families. They would love it. Recommendation/tips I recommend this place. Perfect for pictures and vibes. If you go outside there is a good view of the river read more

Cute, clean ambiance with limited seating inside as well as outside in the back with a view of the Hudson River. They have a small offering of lunch menu with a Japanese influence. Drinks are just Ok... with the high rating, I was hoping/expecting for something AMAZING! Most of the drinks are very sweet for "regular" sweetness, so I'd suggest "Less" sweetness for those who aren't into overly sweet drinks. Service was very slow, so if you were hoping for a quick pick up and go, I don't think this is the place for you. We waited close to 20mins to order and get our drinks as only 1 person was taking the order and making the drinks. read more

I came back again and it's still so so good! I really love how well all the flavors meld together for the strawberry milk tea with cheese foam (with less sugar because it's a pretty sweet drink). The boba was so warm when my drink was handed to me and the whole drink was delicious!! I still love how beautifully decorated this place is both undoes and outdoors. We sat outside as we drank our boba and really took in the great view of the skyline. Highly recommend!! read more
