We came here as part of our Hong Kong food tour. We had told our tour guide that we wanted to try some more adventurous foods, so he decided to take us to this restaurant to try snake soup. When we arrived there was no wait, and it looked like there were some locals eating inside. The restaurant itself is interesting and has many wooden crates, each which contains a live snake. We found this our through our tour guide. After he brought this up, the restaurant owner decided show us one of the snakes inside the crates and we had the opportunity to hold it if we wanted to.
In terms of the soup, we ordered one bowl of the snake soup to split since we were a little nervous about trying it. The texture and consistency of the soup were not really to my liking as it was gooey. Our guide told us that snake tastes like chicken, and he was right about that.
Overall, I don't think I will have snake soup again, but this was a great experience and a good restaurant for trying the dish. If you're into more adventurous foods then I definitely recommend checking this place out! read more
