My favorite place for snake soup. They are also known for their duck liver sausage. Wonderful authentic, traditional Hong Kong eatery. Remember, no paper napkins, so make sure to BYO your own Tempo napkins. Also, only boiled hot drinking water, no iced cold glasses of water. The snake soup and their roasted meats are delicious.

One of our favourite, serving snake soup. Traditional Chinese rice with sliced Roast Pork & Barbecue pork combo. There is also chicken, sausages or other rice hot pot. The only downside is you have to share a table if you want a seat. It is always popular.

This place is known for their snake soup, but I passed by one day looking for a lunch spot and saw that they had roasted meats in the window and thought I could stop in. Once inside I could see that the place was packed for lunchtime (common sight in Causeway Bay if the place is actually good). I checked out the lunch menu and decided to skip roasted meats this time. I chose spareribs with black beans over rice. And boy, was I surprised. It was the best spareribs and rice I've had in Hong Kong, or possibly ever at a restaurant. The spareribs were so flavorful. I don't know how to actually convey that to you in words or raise your expectations for the spareribs, but seriously, it just tasted really good. They also have soups you can order, just as a soup of the day or more special ones in the ($30+ range that included snake soup or chicken soup). I'm going to phase out my eating and keep trying to new places and resist long enough before I hop, jump, and skip my way back to this restaurant.

This place is known for their snake soup. This is a very divey place and you will likely have to share a table with others. When we went it was not that busy so we sat a a 6 person table and only one extra person joined us later. You have to clean your spoons and chopsticks in the tea that they give you and make sure you bring your own napkins and wet napkins. There is a set course with snake soup, blood sausage in rice and vegetables. However you can switch the blood sausage for bbq pork and goose for a bit more money. There is an English menu that you can ask for if you can't read the Chinese menu on the table. The snake soup is the best while the bbq pork and goose was average. This is worth going for just the snake soup

Best damn Snake Soup I ever had !!! OK ... It was the first and only I've had but I really liked it. Kind of like chicken soup but kind of not... Just try !! Very tasty I can't describe the herbs they use as the taste is quite different . It did have a slight gelatinous slippery feel to it but not too much... Very comforting in the stomach.

Snake soup is good, but if you're not familiar with it, just order one of the three sets on the menu.

We met friends for dinner and actually went to the wrong restaurant, for there is another Star of Canton just up the street at I Square too and we went there by accident. This restaurant has an expansive and striking view of the harbor, high ceilings, big glassy chandeliers and is very spacious. There is a stage and so much room that it seems like the appropriate spot to have a banquet or wedding. It is one of those large Chinese restaurants that serves a lot of people and thus the soft goods (carpet, chairs, linens, etc) seem warn and need updating. Although I did not do the ordering and did not pay the bill, in addition to special orders of hairy crabs at an additional cost, we had a set dinner with like 7 courses for around $400HKD (which seemed like a great value, knowing all the delicious food we had). The set included their highlighted dish of Braised Whole Japanese Oma Abalone, in addition to marinated sea cucumbers, shrimp, sticky rice, a great soup with bean curd on top and although small and at the very end, a seasame rice ball that was really spectacular & a party in your mouth. Found in 1998, Star of Canton insists the tradition of the canton dishes with less oil, less salt, no MSG and no artificial colour. I like that and it is a niche in a sea of Chinese restaurant options. We had a good experience and liked the ambiance of the place, so we would reccomend and absolutely go back.

It's easy to find, near Jordan station located inside a plaza. Just take the elevator 7/F I think? and it'll take you straight there. Most of all their prices are very reasonable! We did not know it was a 2 star Michelin restaurant, and I was a bit apprehensive at the beginning, because we did not want to spend too much money on food on this trip. Upon our request, we were seated right in front of the Harbour view and were able to see the light show that start around 8pm. The most beautiful view of HK at night! We opted not to order the duck, which needs to be ordered 24 hour in advance and although I am sure quite delicious is quite pricy (HK$1,438+10%). Reservation in this place is a must! Highlights were the Wok-fried Wagyu with Green Peppers, Mushrooms and Garlic, Wok-seared Chicken Fillet with Lemon Sauce The server was so kind as to give us half servings so we could "sample" some of the more expensive items, add fried rice for substitution with the meat dishes and free desert. This flexibility in providing half portion and substitution is something i've rarely experience in a Michelin restaurant. Overall, we payed $US240 (1,900 Hong Kong Dollar) which includes the 10% service charge for two people for a michelin 2 star restaurant for an unforgettable meal! If I return to HK, I will definitely come back and try their dim sum.
