I have stopped by here once before in 2016 and it was a must this year. The lady who I think owns and runs this place is so cute and efficient. She uses pure memory to do orders and she is super friendly.
Stinky tofu has gotten a bad rap cause of the smell and sometimes the texture, but I feel there is a clear distinction between Taiwanese stinky tofu and the Hong Kong stinky tofu. Taiwanese stinky tofu is more wet, at least in my experience in Taiwan, while this Hong Kong stinky tofu is crispier and less stinky while you eat it.
I never loved stinky tofu as much as I do at this place. There is a smell when you approach, but no smell as you eat. The smell is also not even in its taste so don't worry. It is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, so yummy! It's even better when you add the hot sauce and the hoisin sauce to the mix!
They also have fried peppers, balls, curry squid and fried intestines.
Please do yourself a favor and try this local delicacy the right way :) read more
