It was hard to taste the egg alone since it was very seasoned but it was delicious nevertheless. I also tried the bao buns which were good, but not as good as the scramble. I thought the bun was a bit dry but the filling was meaty and definitely fulfilled my craving for meat. On the way out I picked up some vegan gummies and treats (from Europe I believe) and they were amazing. Slightly sad that a lot of the items in the store come from so far away but I think if the trend catches on this issue should be fixed. Early reviews mentioned a busy lunch hour and a surely staff, but this was quite the opposite of our experience when we went at 2pm (In Hong Kong, if you are with the 3 million people in about a two square mile radius that is trying to eat lunch, this is just a consequence of your environment...it is what it is and nobody should be shocked when an eatery is busy at lunchtime). We had a delicious meal and were impressed with the creativity the menu choices (spinach oyster puried soup was scrumptous!), weekly rotation of some new items on the menu (the mock chicken skewer was so good, you could not have known the difference from the real thing), the visual feast of "circa 1960 decor meets San Francisco neighborhood cool" to keep your eyes busy while you are sitting there (we especially loved the SF 49er display!) and loved seeing the owner there on sight. It's filled from floor to ceiling with big protein tubs, energy bars, gels, and that sort of thing. As I've come to expect from all the other nutrient shops around the city the prices are somewhat higher than they should be. But because every other shop has those prices I suppose there's not much to complain about, after all I'm not going to ship something in from Australia - I'm not that into it! Anyway, they have a good selection of low fat, low carb, high protein shakes which I'm after (Promote muscle growth that I'm sorely lacking at this moment). They even have a brand that I do not see so often, Carnivore. The name alone lets you know it's probably dangerous... which makes it even better. I browse through the shop and I'm pleasantly surprised to see a mixture of other items, natural ones that often are forgotten about - apple cider vinegar and coconut oil, two very healthy ingredients. They also have a small selection of gym gloves but at $260 a pair I left them where they lay. By the time I left the place I had a tub of Carnivor under one arm and some apple cider vinegar in the other. Time to gain muscle and maintain a good internal pH level, next time we meet you will not recognize me! (Which may have less to do with me looking different than anything else.)

I personally am a fan of the vegetable shish kebab, a "kofta" made with minced vegetables and baked in the tandoor, the tikka paneer, and the dum aloo. All these dishes hover around the HKD60 mark, and are quite reasonable in size, so you will probably find your bill quite low. What is particularly good about this venue is that it is completely vegetarian, so you don't have to do the song and dance of, "can I have this, but without the bacon" or "is the stock made with chicken". And despite it being vegetarian, the food, being Indian, is very tasty and in some cases quite spicy! My only issue with the food, is that it can be a bit greasy. Everything seems to be liberally coated in vegetable oil, so just be wary. The venue itself is a bit like a canteen, with its bright fluorescent strip lighting, plastic tables (at least with table clothes I suppose), and school chairs. It could also do with having a good scrub and a lick of paint. However, I suppose we come for the food after all. The service is great, the staff are attentive and friendly, but there only seems to ever be one wait staff on. I do tend to come during the day when it is quieter and there aren't so many folks about, so I hope they add more wait staff in the evening when it gets busier. Having said that, the few evening times I have come, it never gets that busy, so you could probably turn up without a booking.

Although still absolutely the best grocery store in proximity to me, this fusion is now more of a strong 4 than a 5 to me in my eyes. The shiny patina of a clean, organized grocery store with international labels to a new hungry expat has worn just a touch in light of time, options and exposure. The booze moved to the back and they got rid of the flax seed bread I like so much over the year, but the consistency of everything else that I said before remains the same. The produce section is still pretty good (lots of veggie options coming from food sources that are clearly identifiable versus the unknown food chain coming from some stores). The dairy section is still pretty big. The creme de la creme and what would change it all for me is if that sushi counter went away. It is still there and I happily am eating sashimi from them a few days a week. The check-out lines can still wrap around the corner and be long and you might encounter a unfriendly/non-English speaking checkout person on occasion, but that would be the exception and not the rule. Also, either I am getting wider or those tiny aisles are getting smaller, because there remains the delicate dance when shifting around people at any given time while shopping because there is limited space in the shopping aisles. I am still a fan and will remain shopping a Fusion. Again, I personally find it to be the best option in the area.

The line is usually long but moves pretty fast, especially if you're paying via Octopus. Overall a nice market with several unique options.
