3.5 stars. I rounded it up just for the photos they hang on the wall. Do you know that I'm big fan of organic, healthy food? You never heard of it? Right, probably 'cause I never am! I heard quite some good words of Locofama, but to me it's often as excuse to charge you a premium of food that doesn't necessarily healthier. Anyway, I was on my way back to HKU that night, so I didn't mind giving it a go. We ordered a lamb rack, a scallops & quinoa ceviche, and our wine to start. We didn't think it's enough for us anyway, so as soon as the table next to us refused a dish saying they didn't order it, I told the staff we could have it, in the spirit of not wasting the food cooked. It looked like a good small bite anyway, with corn tortilla chips and dips. Our curiosity only arose when the that table refused the next dish, which looked exactly the same. So either the kitchen screwed up twice, or there was some miscommunication over there. A more experienced staff explained to them (yeah by the way, not much space between tables anyway) that the dish was indeed scallops & quinoa ceviche as they'd ordered. And only THEN I understood the confusion. That dish didn't look like scallops & quinoa ceviche. You would have called corn tortilla chips, and ceviche as dips, but you probably couldn't sell that just as the same price. The proportion of the ceviche was (and the arrangement of the dish) was confusing, although to be fair, it did state clearly it was under the category "small bites". I had no problem with that, excepts we were now still one dish short and needed to order a prawn linguine. All pretty up to standard and it didn't taste like organic food - which was a big plus to me. The story didn't end there. Another couple then next to us on the other side, ordered the same "scallops & quinoa ceviche", and looked very puzzled as well. Staff explained again and god knows how many times he had to explain that dish every day. Anyway, good little spot in Sai Wan, healthy option, good vibe (if not crowded), slightly overpriced if you consider its location, but I'll still come back again if I'm around.

The ahh tuna salad with chicken and the egg appetizer!

A great spot for a light, refreshing and healthy meal in Hong Kong. Nestled off the street, Locafama's quiet location offers a healthy, green oasis amidst carb heavy shops and restaurants around the area. Although it's a bit pricey, I loved my egg appetizer and my chicken, pomegranate salad.

What attracts me about this restaurant is the ambiance. Located in the middle of a quiet neighbourhood, Sai Ying Pun, this restaurant opened just a few months before the opening of the MTR station. I only know about this restaurant from my friend who suggested dinner as she wanted to give it a try. Looking at the reviews, I looked forward to the dinner. From the MTR station, exit b2, the walk takes less than 10 minutes to get there. The place is pretty small and there is both indoor and door seats for you to choose from. My friend ordered the salad while I ordered the lamb chop. The price was a bit on a high end side but I would pay if the quality is good. When my lamp chop came, I got a shock of my life! The portion of it was so small, certainly not what I expected. Furthermore, the taste of it was normal - nothing to shout about. HK$188 for it? That is certainly not worth it. The organic drink I had was not bad though. With lots of good restaurants around, I am unsure whether I would go back there again. My first impression was certainly a disappointment but at least the service was decent. Like what one of the reviewers mentioned, the food is overpriced and portion is small. Paying lots for it and yet leaving the place feeling not full, nah. That's why, I give it only a rating of 3.

I first spotted Locofama last month when my friend and I had dinner across the street at Grassroots Pantry. We couldn't help but notice the hustle and bustle as well as delicious smell coming from Locofama and said to ourselves, we definitely need to come and check out this place! And so, a month later, I'm here and ready to eat! You can't help but notice the amazing smell from this restaurant. Right when you walk pass, you get this whiff of amazing deliciousness. The smell just makes you want to order right away, and then chow everything down. Since I was the first to arrive, I decided to take a look at the drink list to see what would fancy my stomach for the night. They offer different type of juices, soy milk, teas, whites, beer, cider, and then the "special" catch my eyes. Fresh coconut with Swedish DQ Vodka. Fresh coconut with alcohol? Sold. I love fresh coconut. I love alcohol. Give me. Silly me. I thought they'd pour a shot into the fresh coconut. But instead, my fresh coconut came with a shot. What to do? I asked the servers, they said to just take the shot and then drink the coconut. My friend had arrived at this point and she agreed, "Just down the shot!" And that I did. My goodness, I felt like I was in college ALL over again. Downing vodka shots? I only drink whiskey and tequila shots nowadays. Now I realize, it was truly a "throwback thursday." For some reason the shot look larger than normal in person, either that or I'm just aging and have been out. It would have been nice if the inside of the coconut was bigger. Gone after a few sips. :( It's not their fault, it's just me wanting a bigger coconut, haha Superfood Duo = Super Healthy. Yummy and hearty salad with all the nutritions, quinoa x3, one would need in a meal. Great price for organic farm to table food! Although the price of the salad might seem daunting, it is only because the additional tofu added to it! It is so rare to find organic food in Hong Kong restaurants, let alone an organic Hong Kong restaurant. Prices aren't ridiculous and over the top. I look forward to coming back here for more yummy in the tummy organic food.

This is one my favourite restaurants. The ingredients are organic and sourced locally. The food is tasty and well executed and I love the small business, cosy vibe to it. For mothers day we had a no of small dishes but the ones that stood out included: - Black truffle crab eat dip: always a favourite. Though it is a small portion costing $98. - Crystalline ice plants with prawn and Pomelo salad; and Organic Kale salad: fresh ingredients and dressing was well balanced - Organic chicken with quinoa: texture of chicken was good and the cream sauce went well with the quinoa - Prawn Linguini in pesto: perfectly Al dente, pesto was delish!

Came here for brunch as I'm forever searching for good brunch places which don't break the bank. Luckily my friend had the foresight to book as the place was chokablock! The table which was suppose to be ours was taking a long time so we were seated next door which had more space but the downside was the dirty tablecloth that had stains and bits of other people's meals still stuck on it. Maybe they are being environmentally friendly and don't wash their tablecloth as even when we asked for another it too had stains and bits of dried hard quinoa on there.... Anyway onto the food! The coffee was not bad, ordered a flat white, came out very frothy but not offensive to the tastebuds (sorry I'm Aussie and we're coffee snobs languishing in HK). The brunch where you choose your eggs, 3 sides and toast for $88 was yum (and filling!) I went with scrambled on sundries tomato toast with sautéed mushrooms, avocado and smoked salmon. Very fresh and tasty all around. Would return for other brunch options - I had some food envy eyeing (and smelling) my neighbour's food.

We went here for a early dinner and everything was excellent. We tried the short ribs, and they were fantastic! We also had the kale salad, which was fresh and delicious, with a nice complementary dressing. The Carbonara was good, as was the Black Truffle Crab Dip. It was nice to have toasted fresh bread served with the dip. Dog friendly, with a nice relaxing atmosphere. We will be back!

Just Green has a few other locations throughout Hong Kong, but this newer location in Central opened just 2 weeks ago. They have everything you'd want from a natural/organic market, except for fresh fruits/vegetables (although they do stock fresh kale from Green Vitamin). I love that they stock pretty much the full gamut of Green Vitamin's products (See www.greenvitamin.hk), which is the main selling point for me. That, and the wide range of flavors of Happy Cow ice cream, which they even sell in mini-cup size! (For those who don't know, Happy Cow is made with coconut sugar instead of cane sugar and therefore has a lower glycemic index, but is just as tasty.) The location is a bit tricky to find (it's on the first floor above Christian Louboutin on Wyndham Street), but once you've found it, you'll be glad that you did (although your pocketbook may not be as happy).

I happened upon Nature's Blessing after work the other afternoon, on my usual walk towards the SoHo escalators, and thought this would be a good place to stock up. It's a small store, and easy to miss, but one step inside and you're in good, green hands. The owner, Fred, is a health expert, and the little shop is packed full of milk alternatives, gluten free products, baby and mother supplements (including Mother's Milk which my sister swears by), as well as nutritional supplements. I'm still looking for a place that sells herbal teas, so was a little disappointed by the limited selection here (they've got two or three YOGI organic tea blends, good for your throat or general detoxing). However, I was also looking to buy some wheatgrass powder, which they had in plentiful selection. I ended up with 'melrose health' organic clean green wheatgrass powder which is free from lactose, gluten, artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. I notice my eczema goes a little crazy when I have anything gluten or dairy, so this was a good fit for me. The wheatgrass powder is also meant to rebalance your PH levels and dry skin problems can be related to being slightly too acidic. I suppose I can be sour sometimes. Anyway, if you're in the dark about all this health hullabaloo, the people at Nature's Health are more than willing to drop some knowledge. Start off with the small stuff and you'll undoubtedly be seeing a difference with the energy in your body and overall appearance. It's a lovely little local shop that really thinks about the products they're selling - making sure it doesn't exploit the environment or your health. They also do online, email, and telephone delivery, and you can pay via credit card, PayPal, or cash on delivery! How convenient can you get, huh?

This location is much smaller than the Nood Food location in Kinwick up the street. It is more of a grab and go location. Raw, organic, clean, natural, whole food, fresh. Plain and simple at its best. I love this being right inside my gym. All the work is done for me in making a great, healthy decision for the protein/carb refuel I need after a workout. I have consumed a few smoothies, a salad or two and today I had a half a sandwich and a fresh coconut water...pressed by them! They make their prepacked food off site (maybe at the Kinwick location and I am talking about their salads, sandwiches, cold snacks, etc)) and when those are gone, be it at 3PM or 6PM, there is no restocking. When they are out for the day, they are out for the day. But they can make any smoothie or shake anytime. They also have raw snacks made by them (like trail mixes, etc), a wide variety of premade pressed jucies and bottled water (Fuji or Volvic) that are always available as well. If you are looking for raw, healthy, organic...this is a great spot. Being a gym rat, I am certain I will now eat more meals out of this establishment than my own kitchen at home. LOL!
