Although still absolutely the best grocery store in proximity to me, this fusion is now more of a strong 4 than a 5 to me in my eyes. The shiny patina of a clean, organized grocery store with international labels to a new hungry expat has worn just a touch in light of time, options and exposure. The booze moved to the back and they got rid of the flax seed bread I like so much over the year, but the consistency of everything else that I said before remains the same. The produce section is still pretty good (lots of veggie options coming from food sources that are clearly identifiable versus the unknown food chain coming from some stores). The dairy section is still pretty big. The creme de la creme and what would change it all for me is if that sushi counter went away. It is still there and I happily am eating sashimi from them a few days a week. The check-out lines can still wrap around the corner and be long and you might encounter a unfriendly/non-English speaking checkout person on occasion, but that would be the exception and not the rule. Also, either I am getting wider or those tiny aisles are getting smaller, because there remains the delicate dance when shifting around people at any given time while shopping because there is limited space in the shopping aisles. I am still a fan and will remain shopping a Fusion. Again, I personally find it to be the best option in the area.

They have fresh produce and ... did I say they have everything? They have everything. Literally all food treats that you can imagine. Of course, I found it! This place is equal to cross between Whole Foods and Bristol Farms in CA. You'll be sure to find exclusive items you can't find elsewhere. Of course, it comes with an equally impressive price tag. My Maldon Salt cost the same as it would had I gotten it from a specialty store in SoCal such as The Butchery. As I looked down on my phone to reply his message, I noticed the shop I had just stopped by had some powders on display; I could just see the bottom of the shelves and a guy's feet as it was half closed. He noticed my curiosity and pulled the gate up. Yes, I wasn't mistaken; it was exactly what I had been looking for. What a coincidence! The owner of the shop kindly invited me in, even though the shop wasn't opened to the public yet. I could feel a great vibe already, very young active atmosphere. It is a small shop in the heart of Sheung Wan, but it has great variety of products (energy bars, pre-workout drinks, probiotics, antioxidants, etc.) for the weightlifter, the runner, the swimmer...pretty much anything concerning endurance, energy, weight-gain and weight-loss and body definition. And they aren't as pricey as supplements from mainstream chains such as GNC and the like. The owner had been in this business for quite a while and was developing his Portuguese company further in Hong Kong so he's got a good knowledge of the market and the products and can help you decide what's best for you. I found Gold Nutrition a great alternative to other stores I had been to because, to start with, they had the product I was looking for, with the exact requirements my friend wanted (I had to look at the ingredients carefully as these products are highly specific). Second, even if I didn't have the ingredients and specifics written down, I could have counted on the owner's advice and third, although expensive, they are still affordable. So that coincidence made for the happy discovery of the day, not only for me, but also for my friend, and the friends of my friend and...so on.
