This was conveniently located near our hotel. We only had to walk a few blocks! I have a love/hate relationship with Don Quijote! Love that there's so much to see and buy in this store, but also hate that it's overwhelming too! In Japan, there are more floors in a donki store but the stores in Hong Kong only have one floor, so it's extremely condensed! They definitely do not have everything like the ones in Japan. But they do carry most of the popular items. The prices are higher in Hong Kong as well. But I was able to restock on a few things like make-up and some cookies/candy/crackers, which some things aren't sold or costs double in the states. It's difficult to find help in the store. It seemed like for every 1 Donki worker, 2-3 customers are at their tail asking questions. However, I was thrilled to peruse the aisles and give myself a time limit so I wouldn't be overwhelmed and overstimulated! Otherwise, I'd be there for hours losing track of time like a moth drawn to a light unable to control myself! I enjoyed the multiple trips to Donki while in Hong Kong! So FUN!!

I had been to Donki on prior trips and knew I wanted to stop here before heading out, but I did not realize how much I would come here. The entrance during the day hours is along Nathan Road and you walk downstairs to the basement and you get blasted with the Donki song along with all the Japanese confectionary, foods, variety of fruit, etc. They have a lot of stuff here and I even took my time to look at all the stuff. I ended up getting the Tokyo Banana Kit Kats here, which they did have when I came but may not be here at all times. They also have candies, makeup, toys. Just explore! They also have a sushi togo area and their fish is reallyyyyyyyy fresh. I forgot to take a picture of it but after a certain time there's a 20% off I believe and we ended up trying the sushi and it was so good. There are lines on the floor that tell you how to escape, with a self checkout and a cashier line. I believe they ask if you have a membership (which I did not) but I wish the ones in the US were similar to the Donki in HKG. Except for how cramped it is. That I could do without lol. Also during off hours entrance is on Kimberley Road FYI.

This place is kind of naughty, but I definitely recommend it. It is absolutely overstimulating with lots of stuff and gadgets everywhere. I definitely recommend going in to check it out. You might even find some goodies to bring back home :)

It just looks more clean and neat and products are about the same price as those from Parknshop. I was looking for baby products in particular because I traveled with my child but wanted to pack light at the same time. And they had everything I wanted! I also love that they have lots of cut up fruits to choose from, which is convenient for tourists. The website said they open at 9am but they were already opened when I walked past at 8am. And they have applepay, which is not too common in HK. They are located in the basement level of Isquare and is only 1 level above the mtr station.

Lol they also have apple yogurt that Europe no longer made dunno why not it's the best tasting ever. We bought fruits all so fresh, they have VN dragon fruit $3.50 each! I have them bigger so plentiful at home I gave them to neighbors. This amazing market is like an oasis in the big city, I'm a tourist n love to hang out here buying junk food snacks like curry chips fr Indonesia they were very good. Highly recommended 5 stars.

You can find a variety of Japanese food products here, along with some other imported items as well. The dessert/cake section is quite extensive and there are multiple bakeries/desserteries. They have Japanese brands/companies but also a couple local ones as well. I tried their Japanese cheesecake tart place and it was quite good. The tart was fresh and warm. Their cakes are detail-oriented and glamorous like the ones you'd see at a department store in Tokyo. There's produce and meats sold here, but they're pretty pricey, as you can imagine. That week was their Taiwanese fair, so the market had an assortment of Taiwanese street food to eat. It can be super crowded here, so keep that in mind if you're not into crowds. But then, if you can't handle crowds, why are you in Hong Kong?

It will never stop surprising me how you can enter a building in HK and discover a whole new world…read more The city is practically built by stacking upwards so some of the best things are tucked away on upper and lower floors, hidden away from street level. Case in point, it took me 6 months to discover SOGO's basement even though I lived, quite literally, next door. SOGO is a gigantic department store that attracts hordes of shoppers, many with luggage, every hour of every day. I knew all this, I saw the insane mass of limbs and luggage wheels every time I crossed the street. That's why i was deterred from going in until the last month of my stay. What I didn't know was that there was a food paradise tucked underneath all the people and the floors. The SOGO grocery store is similar to other high end grocery stores, but with a Japanese focus. Very clean, very large, and with many exotic varieties at a premium price point. There is an area in the middle that sells an assortment of Japanese snacks: dango, matcha tea, sun-dried squid, etc. To be honest, I never actually bought anything from the grocery store but I did go for SOGO's assortment of ready-to-eat food kiosks, all imported from Japan, all amazing. There's a quiche place with an array of the most beautiful quiches on display (fake, but still pretty), there's a cheese tart place (BAKE) that puts a dent in my heart and wallet because the tarts are so delicious and overpriced. There are Japanese sweets, Japanese cakes, and foreign snacks that a certain Japanese shop has repackaged for the Asian population. Beard Papa (cream puffs), Juchhheim (German layered cake), iCremeria (ice cream), Kobe Beef Meat Pie, all evil temptations for someone with an empty stomach. My favourite is Croissant Taiyaki (especially with apple filling): crispy, sugary, flaky pouches that marry French croissants and Japanese Taiyaki at HKD $18 a pop. Sinfully delicious. If you've never been here, drop by. If you're from North America, DEFINITELY MAKE A TRIP HERE. It's unlike anything I've ever seen (though I hear supermarkets like this are everywhere in Japan, lucky...) It may have been a blessing that I discovered it late in my time here in HK. I would've definitely gained a lot more weight if I knew about this place earlier. (73/100) - 2017
