It's really hard adjusting from a county that really valued low waste to HK, which seems to wrap its plastic in plastic. Also, I really needed a place to get my kombucha fix. This place offers a variety of reusable utensils, food containers, etc. and are constantly getting new stock in. There are a ton of things to make trail mix with, spices, oils, and house cleaning supplies. I tried the facewash and handwash (love!) but the shampoo makes my hair oily...try a small sample before you commit like I did! You can donate your reusable jars/containers and people can use them for free! There is coffee, almond milk, they've partnered with local food producers to bring in pasta, etc. Their instagram is also great to follow to get more ideas about how to live a low waste/zero waste life here in HK.

Although still absolutely the best grocery store in proximity to me, this fusion is now more of a strong 4 than a 5 to me in my eyes. The shiny patina of a clean, organized grocery store with international labels to a new hungry expat has worn just a touch in light of time, options and exposure. The booze moved to the back and they got rid of the flax seed bread I like so much over the year, but the consistency of everything else that I said before remains the same. The produce section is still pretty good (lots of veggie options coming from food sources that are clearly identifiable versus the unknown food chain coming from some stores). The dairy section is still pretty big. The creme de la creme and what would change it all for me is if that sushi counter went away. It is still there and I happily am eating sashimi from them a few days a week. The check-out lines can still wrap around the corner and be long and you might encounter a unfriendly/non-English speaking checkout person on occasion, but that would be the exception and not the rule. Also, either I am getting wider or those tiny aisles are getting smaller, because there remains the delicate dance when shifting around people at any given time while shopping because there is limited space in the shopping aisles. I am still a fan and will remain shopping a Fusion. Again, I personally find it to be the best option in the area.

Although I am a member of this gym, I did find out that you do not have to be a member of this gym in order to stop by Nood Food in the lobby area to grab some food or a smoothie. This location is much smaller than the Nood Food location in Kinwick up the street. It is more of a grab and go location. Raw, organic, clean, natural, whole food, fresh. Plain and simple at its best. I love this being right inside my gym. All the work is done for me in making a great, healthy decision for the protein/carb refuel I need after a workout. I have consumed a few smoothies, a salad or two and today I had a half a sandwich and a fresh coconut water...pressed by them! They make their prepacked food off site (maybe at the Kinwick location and I am talking about their salads, sandwiches, cold snacks, etc)) and when those are gone, be it at 3PM or 6PM, there is no restocking. When they are out for the day, they are out for the day. But they can make any smoothie or shake anytime. They also have raw snacks made by them (like trail mixes, etc), a wide variety of premade pressed jucies and bottled water (Fuji or Volvic) that are always available as well. If you are looking for raw, healthy, organic...this is a great spot. Being a gym rat, I am certain I will now eat more meals out of this establishment than my own kitchen at home. LOL!

In the near decade since my last review, it has become one of my most frequented businesses and a rite of passage destination for all of my new-to-HK visitors. This was a must-visit for life in the street side foods of Kowloon. (#1) However, this last trip to HK I saw no lines and only one person working the stand. I came through Dundas on multiple occasions to see very little activity, making me wonder if this was the effects of the post-pandemic downtrodden economy, but alas I brought a group of friends and we ordered several drinks. The end result was it was nicely cold, but a tinge blander and less sweet than I had remembered. It was still refreshing, but the wow effect was gone. Before there were people behind the counter cracking open cans of coconut milk and the continuous mixing of drinks, but felt slow and the vibe was a downer. My friends didn't seem too impressed, which I understood why. The bottle prices are up 4HKD (now 30HKD) from the last decade, which is not as crazy as expected. Considering that they've recently expanded to Prince Edward earlier this year, I imagine the brand is doing well, despite it not feeling the same. Shopping in Hong Kong…read more.. We didn't know what kind of store 360° was, so we went in. I wouldn't say that it's just a convenience store because it had a bit more merchandise than just grab and go snacks. There were cookies, Candies, and 3 in 1 coffee packets. I was surprised to see marshmallows with Brown from Line Friends. I had to get it for Kathy H.! LOL! We looked in another 360° and found Brown marshmallows, but no Cony... Sad... Haha! This store was a bit crowded with narrow aisles, customers, and staff restocking the shelves. It was an educational experience!

Snacks galore…read more.. There's something about it that satisfy any type of issues that you're hungry, anxious or just a craving. Here they have just about any type of fun items and though it's not massive it's a lovely place to find something that even the local convenience store won't have. Staff here is always busy restocking items as there is a lot to see and what a fun place to explore what Hong Kong along with various other countries together share the same love of snacking. If you enjoy tofu in general, you must try this place. You can probably guess based on the name that they make all their tofu products, including soybean milk which is also very popular. Fun fact! I have lived in Sham Shui Po until I was about 10 years old. Kung Wo is about 5 minute walk from our old apartment and I have no recollection of ever having the tofu here. It's my older sister's favorite tofu place so we had to stop by to grab a bowl of good old hot tofu, which is like a dessert. Be aware the dining area is small and cramped. You will likely have to sit next to a stranger in close proximity. It is street food style and casual dining. Folks order, eat and go! The tofu without a doubt was smooth, silky and fresh. I'm not a huge fan but my sister really enjoyed it. I was feeling something savory and got a mix plate of Cheung Fun (rice noodle rolls), fish balls, and fish shui mai. It was alright. I didn't look too hard at the other but it seems like take-out. Once seated, there's a ton of paper menus to mark down your order. We handed it off to the workers and the food came out in less than 5 minutes. So fast! Tofu Pudding: Choose either hot or cold, sugar or sugar-free. We ordered one to share so we couldn't stuff ourselves and it was just the right amount. Super silky! Maybe it's just me but if we each had our own, I would've gotten tired of the texture real fast. The sugar version wasn't that sweet too and we ended up adding the orange/yellow sugar, which is provided at each table. Mix Deep Fried (6 pieces): If you want to try a bit of everything, you can order this sampler of various deep fried snacks. It comes with two pieces each of deep fried tofu, tofu puffs, and golden fish and soya cakes. Pretty good snack but it's made a little better with the various sauces at the table. It's not like crispy, deep fried but a little soggy already. Overall, not bad but it didn't stand out for me. What a happy accident, because these were so, so good. At first we thought they just didn't have snail skewers, contrary to the poster which showed them, but later we saw them in the display case. No complaints though. For actual skewers, I tried the octopus and fried chive dumplings. Both were tasty with the sauces. They also sell refreshing juices like sugarcane, white gourd, and watermelon.

You can find the shops in Hong Kong but the prices are more expensive than getting it direct from Macau. There are multiple stores in Macau and from what I could tell, the prices were the same even if you were closer to the ferry. There are boxes of cookie, jerky, etc samples throughout the store and the employees are typically a little pushy to get you in and looking around. I think it's because that's half the battle. Once you're in and you try a sample, you'll walk out with full yellow bags of goodies! Highly recommend: Walnut and peanut brittle which was very light and crunchy vs the American version that feels like you're going to break your teeth! At $15 USD for a generous size box and gorgeous packaging, it was a great souvenir. We got packaged jerky instead of the fresh jerky that you can buy by the pound. The employee said it was the same but the packaged ones come in little 2" sealed chunks. Instructions say to heat it up prior to eating which resulted in a smoky microwave and super hot napalm covered jerky. Pineapple cakes: get the big box. Tender and almost crumbly cake / cookie outside and pineapple filling; you can see the chunks of fruit! Absolute perfection. Shortbread cookies: comes in multiple flavors. My son loved the chocolate chip the best. Some of the packaging at Kee Wah looks similar to Koi Kei but they are not the same. Both are good but Koi Kei is top notch. Can't wait to visit again!

Koi Kei is famous in Hong Kong and Macau. Its originated from Macau and is Macau number one selling…read moresouvenir. They are famous for their peanut candy. One thing I do not understand is that the items in the HK Koi Kei is way more expensive than the Macau Koi Kei. I suggest you get it at Macau. Also the Macau Koi Kei is crazy packed full of people and HK Koi Kei is very quiet. I mean of course if you do not want to travel to Macau then you might as well get it here. I do enjoy their products!
