You know Starbucks and you know exactly what you are ordering, how much it costs, which size you want and which snack, if any, you're grabbing this time. You also know the service is going to be good, quick and efficient. Level of friendliness depends on the store obviously but in a place like this it doesn't matter that much. You get your drink and sit somewhere or just walk away with it. But there are differences between stores, even if they're chains, and Starbucks is no exception. I hadn't found any good place to work around home where I can take my iPad and type away, in a quiet corner, without being distracted by noise or people. Until I found this spot.
The location isn't great - it's more a functional mall where you can find a couple of bank's outlets, a few restaurants and...Starbucks. I didn't think it'd be a good option for my reading and working needs but a friend of mine, who lives across the street, had spent quite some time there and told me about it. As it is inside the mall, the glass windows are facing the floor hall and there's no natural light inside (also, it's a little dark but the dim lights are good, in my opinion, if you're working on your laptop or iPad). As you come in there's the counter in front of you and on both sides, especially the left hand side, there are a few hidden tables and chairs. You arrived to my spot! There I've sat for hours, not being disturbed by a single thing. For me that's important enough to make a difference from other Starbucks around the area, and that's why I set my weekend office there! read more
