It has always been my go-to Korean barbecue restaurant in Causeway Bay especially with big groups. Compared to many other Korean restaurants in the area that are often packed and hard to book, Kaya is on the higher end, perhaps that's why you get the better ambience and service that you pay for. All of the dishes we tried were delicious. It's always good to bring a group here so that you can try many dishes. Start with some appetizers like the Korean raw beef (friends who have eaten Korean food with me know that I cannot miss this one.) Then order some meat for barbecue and finish with some cooked dishes like the galbi jim, which is like a sweet beef brisket stew. Another thumbs up for this place is that you don't smell like Korean meat after you leave the restaurant! Isn't that just neat?

Kaya was recommended to us by some friends while we were visiting Hong Kong. I really loved the…read moreupscale vibe, the cleanliness, and the private rooms available for larger groups. Service was great! Food and drinks ordered came out quickly and the waiters and waitresses were readily available. Overall the food was great! The sides, the sauces, and drinks were all good. Unfortunately, the meat, in general, was lacking flavor for me personally. Living in Atlanta for many years I've had the opportunity to enjoy truly amazing and authentic Korean BBQ (verified by Korean friends). Also, I found this place to be a little overpriced for the quantity of meat you get.

Still my favorite Korean BBQ place in Hong Kong. I used to go to their TST branch but the lines…read moreare too long. Here at CWB, there is virtually no wait time if you come on a weekday. (The lines are still bearable on weekends, if you are early - like before 7pm). The must-have for me is the 護心肉, i.e., meat around the heart. So meaty and packed with flavor! The other thing I also loved about Seorae is the condiments that comes with the meal. I usually order one meat + one carb (ramen or bibimbap) for 2 persons, and that's plenty because I get at least 5-6 sides, free with unlimited refill. Among which I love their steamed eggs and kimchi. The kimchi here is quite spicy but oh-so delicious! Service is quite good as well, especially true on weekdays! The staff came and refilled our sides without prompt! They also came and switched our BBQ plates for us without calling. Again, I went on a weekday when the restaurant wasn't busy. I am sure there are plenty of amazing Korean BBQ but why continue the search when you have already found one you enjoy? Plus, my bill usually averaged to only HK$150-200 per person, which is honestly a steal in CWB Hong Kong.

The place is more smokey than some other k BBQs I've been to, the kimchi has a kick but also surprisingly more ginger taste which I'm unfamiliar with in kimchi. The meats were well marinated albeit serving sizes were small. The beef was sliced so thinly they were probably more appropriate for hot pot! And again, easily stuck to the hot plate which made it difficult to cook. The bean and soft tofu soups were well made and flavoursome...and the bimbibap was as expected. One annoyance was that they didn't change the hot plate for about 20-30 minutes despite continuous request and as you can imagine with the sugars in the marinade, it was a charred mess. We also really enjoyed the chestnut rice wine, I've been to many Korean restaurants both in Sydney and HK and this was the first I've tried it! Very nutty and delicious! Overall decent experience and not very pricey.... But then again maybe that's because we waited so long for the hot plate to be changed we managed to eat in moderation for once.

Good Korean restaurants are hard to find in Hong Kong. This is one of the better ones that I have…read morebeen to in HK. The side dishes served here are very good and is a good sign that the food will be good. They are stingy with the refills and will only give two dishes to ask for a second round. However, the bbq uses a gas grill and not charcoal. You definitely will taste the difference. Food: 3.75 stars Service: 2.5 stars Environment: 3 stars Value: 4 stars Overall: 3.5 stars Recommendations: seafood pancake, ok tongue, marinated galbi, thick cut pork belly The service here is not very good. You will need to proactively get the waiters attention for any help. They don't do any of the cooking for you and the food comes at a slow pace especially given that the meat is cooked at the table and is raw. The non bbq meat items are really quite good here and I would come back to try more of these. You can tell by eating the kimchi you can tell that the food is authentic. The price isn't too expensive if you stick with the non premium meat. Is about 350 HKD per person for food.

While the staff were somewhat lacking in presence, they definitely made up for it in food quality and value for money. We had a kimchi pancake which was fantastic! The pancake itself was crunchy and fragrant while retaining the flavour of kimchi, and the squid stone pot rice was also really good, being both crunchy and chewy, allowing for that variability in textures. Staff were nice enough when we could find them, but considering how they had the waiter call bell system, they should have pointed out that system when we took our seat since it was rather inconspicuously placed out of plain sight. To sum it up, I would try this place out again!

This time it was hot, humid, and rainy around 11:20 am and our party of 4 was able to get a table easily though it was crowded again once we were finished. This place is so famous we saw people come straight from the airport with all their luggage! Portions are very good and probably too small for most people but I loved the size. Goose and Soy Sauce Chicken: They are most known for their roast goose which has a complex and layered seasoning different than other HK roast duck/goose places. This is my go to dish, this time it tasted great but my portion of goose was super small and I split it with a friend to not get too full so it was even smaller. We also ordered the same dish with noodles and roast pork with soy chicken, both the people who had this never had Yat Lok before and totally cleared their plates, don't forget to mix each bite with some of the oil scorched green onions!
