    I hate the decor!!
    Theresa H.

If I don't know better, I would think my brother hates his sisters. If not, why would he booked for us rooms in Regal Hotel? We flew in from Singapore to HK yesterday morning and we took the MTR Airport Express to the Hong Kong station to ride the free shuttle to the hotel. Upon arrival, my sister and I already sensed we were not at the right place. One staff asked us to put our carryons on one side. We did but just so we would not be blocking anyone's way. Our brother took our passports to check in. It took the front desk a very long time to just check us in. Our mom asked was the staff trying to do thorough background checks on us and our ancestors too? Not only there was no seating areas for the guests in the lobby, the whole lobby near the entrance was just noisy and looked chaotic. While we were still waiting for the staff to check us in, we tried to entertain ourselves by just talking. My sis would say "Ask bro to get a high floor!" Our mom would say "Why high floor? Lower floor is better!" I chimed in, "Of cos higher floor is better!" My legs started to hurt from standing and waiting like forever. Finally our brother got us the keys. We got our carryons and went up to 25th floor. Two rooms #2504 and #2503. When we opened the room at #2504, we girls cried not with joy but with disapproval. Omgoodness, why? I wanted to cry. And this time I was not alone! The decor was so tacky and I had to sleep here for the next few nights? There were mirrors everywhere. I mean lots of mirrors, 50% of the walls are covered in mirrors. Like I told our mom, they might as well plastered the ceiling with mirrors too. My sis and I would be sharing a bed, I always like to sleep on the left side of the bed and facing out. Now I can't face out cos I would be facing mirrors right in front. There are mirrors facing the bed too, hopefully we won't scare ourselves to death when we wake up the next morning. The whole decor is ghastly. The hotel was trying to emulate some Roman architecture with some "impressionist-like" paintings. Next we went to check out the view from our room. We girls opened the drapes and my sister said "why are we looking at decayed buildings???" I started laughing and we burst out laughing. Day 2 While I am penning this, I started laughing again. My sis asked what's wrong, I told her I am writing a review on Yelp and about her comment about the "decayed buildings". Yes, I am in tears now. This is just too much!! More about the bathroom.. the door knob was in bad condition. The tub didn't look clean. The shower head has too much pressure; every shower = punishment for my body. Yes it hurts. The bathroom amenities a joke. I never stay in a hotel which only provides two bottles of no brand "Wash & Rinse" and "Shower Gel". They might as well put dish detergent and hand soap in them. My sis said one of the two bath towels smell musty. We just got back from the buffet breakfast at Cafe Rivoli on the 1st floor. The variety was huge but nothing great. I never care about quantity but quality. The noodles and fried rice were bland, chocolate croissant hard as stone. Bacon was hard. I do like the meiji Fuji apple yogurt and the raisin muffin. Oh btw our room TV is not working! :( (in the afternoon technicians came and realized the remote controller had dead batteries) Day 3 By this time we got accustomed to the noise ranging from door slamming shut to stomping noises from either upstairs or next door. Verdict: The hotel does not possess noise dampening structure. Have not been sleeping well for the past couple nights :( This hotel is reminding of my experience at Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa. Mediocre hotel trying to be a true 5 star hotel with subpar standard of amenities and room, and the bonus? These two hotels have rude/ badly behaved guests. You can bet I will be very happy when I check out on Sunday!! Can't wait to leave :(

It's also 20 minutes taxi ride from Disneyland and 25 minutes from the airport. The hotel itself is modern, luxurious and full of amenities. Upon arrival the bell service took our luggage and held them for about 7 hours free of charge, until our room was ready. Then they delivered it to the room as well. The check-in process was easy, they had a separate lane for Bonvoy Platinum and above members. Since our room wasn't ready, they gave a temporary card to access the lounge and other hotel amenities. The hotel lounge is amazing, the best kind I have seen any Marriott hotel. It has two floors looking out to the harbor. They serve excellent breakfast, including a hot station for omelettes and eggs. They also had two other restaurants for full course meals, Dynasty being one of them. We got an upgrade for our room to studio suite. It was a spacious room with the harbor view. All items in the room and bathroom were fully functional. There were TVs in both the living room and bedroom. The bathroom had both bathtub and glass door standing shower. They were considerate to put a universal converter in the room so we could plug in our US 120V electronics. There were also USB and USB-C ports in living room and bedroom. Throughout the hotel, all the staff member were amazing. Every time we had interaction with them at the lobby, lounge and reception, they were friendly, with positive attitude trying the best to help us. Among all the wonderful highlights, some of the minor annoyances were hotel's elevators were going thru renovation, so there was always little wait time to get on the elevator. In the room, the TV stand was little old. The glass door was leaking some water in the standing shower. I was super happy with my time staying at Renaissance in HK because of its location, amenities, quality, service and ease of accessibility to tourist spots. For my future HK visits, I'll surely consider staying at Renaissance will again.

The room is consisted 3 sections: living room, bedroom and bathroom. Semi-open space between living room and bedroom. Very comfortable and spacious. Bathroom is wet/dry. Water pressure is great. You can hang out in the lounge any time with drinks and snacks provided. And again the view is incredible. Everyone was very helpful and nice. I really enjoyed my time here.

Filled with shops, high & low, food and easy access to convenience stores like 7/11 on the MTR level. Easy walk out to neighborhoods like Wan Chai for local eats, and strolled a little further to Central or CWB! Be sure to do booking/resy for restaurants - seems to be the way to go. The hotel itself is well maintained. The rooms are beautiful, even is it's a little dated in some areas (bathroom) but the views are amazing looking at the hills, trees and houses above. Love that they provide international plugs already, so no need to have your converters. Hospitality: staff are all friendly, warm and welcoming. They always greet their guests with a smile. Housekeeping team - top notch! I'm so glad we picked JW, over the Conrad (ugh don't ask, had the worse experience in Singapore)... since we are members of both rewards programs. I feel like the JW is more on brand as their top tier namesake. I'm happy to be a Marriott Bonvoy member and excited for more stays! Pro tip: with the Marriott Bonvoy, you get late check out, so if you decide on a late flight, you don't need to rush. Just ask Concierge to make a note of it.

One of its biggest perks is the direct access to the Admiralty MTR station right beneath the hotel, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. Also below the hotel is a sleek, modern shopping mall packed with dining and retail options--though for my taste, it leaned a bit too polished and commercial. That said, just a short walk away is Bakehouse, an excellent spot for egg custard tarts and other baked treats. You'll also find several well-known roast goose restaurants in the area, which are absolutely worth seeking out. Inside, the hotel is clean, contemporary, and staffed by a genuinely attentive team. The lobby is stunning, with massive windows offering sweeping views of the city and harbor. Our room (2002) was spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable beds, a pillow menu, generous bathroom featuring both a tub and shower, and plenty of canned water on hand. Our corner room's wraparound windows provided panoramic views, and the blackout drapes--controlled remotely--did a great job blocking the early morning light. The outdoor pool and bar were open until 10 p.m., which our family appreciated after long, hot days exploring Hong Kong.

The service, Grand Hyatt quality, staff and hotel haven't changed one bit. Everything about the stay was perfect. The fantastic views, to the helpful staff who brought all our luggage to our room and it was a lot of suitcases as we were only staying a couple of nights before flying back to the U.S. it was the last leg of our Asia tour so we had amassed quite a lot of souvenirs and shopping to bring home. The views from our room were spectacular! Especially during the golden hour where Hong Kong bay just seems to light up and glow. We took every opportunity we could to take in the views. I called the concierge desk to ask for help getting reservations to a restaurant I wanted to take my family. After many attempts, they couldn't connect with the restaurant, but they gave us 2-3 other options where I could go for dinner and they made the reservations for me. The dinner was perfect and we enjoyed the food. We hired the Grand Hyatt airport limousine van to take us to Hong Kong airport. The service was above and beyond. When we pulled up to the airport terminal there were two Hyatt staff members waiting for our arrival with two baggage carts. Once the van pulled up they unloaded our luggage and pushed the carts behind us to follow us to the check in counter and unloaded everything for us there. It was seamless and smooth to check in. We had a perfect stay there and can't wait to go back again!

Review #700 I…read moreprobably read like three dozen reviews to find the best hotel that suits our specific wish list for our trip to Hong Kong and Asia. Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour checked almost all of the boxes and the best part was we redeemed our stay using points. North Point is a nice and safe neighborhood. It might not be as convenient as staying in Causeway Bay (where my sister stayed) or on the Kowloon side, but it's less crowded. We still have 7-Eleven, restaurants, shops, and cafes nearby. Two blocks from MTR. The ferry is downstairs. Starbucks and YiFang are on the ground level if you miss home. This 5 stars hotel has all of the amenities that you can expect. Our room on the 9th floor has a nice view of Victoria Harbor and Kowlooon. A small sitting area in the corner with a desk to do some work. Slippers, ropes, iron and iron boards, toiletries are all provided. They even have a fancy coffee/hot water machine. It took us a while to figure out how to use it but it's amazing. I need a cup of warm water first thing in the morning. The beds are very comfortable and I crashed each night from all the walking and activities. The room felt clean and housekeeping are great. Not on our list, but there is a pool on the top floor with the amazing view. Hong Kong is hot and humid even during early December, so an option to swim is nice. Even if you don't swim, it's still nice to sit by the pool and enjoy the view. Tip: You can store your luggage with concierge for free. That worked really well for us because we went to Malaysia for 3 days and came back to HK. I can't recommend this hotel enough and will likely stay here again in the future.
