Roasted pork over rice was decent - super crispy skin, but it wasn't hot and juicy out of the oven type of freshness. Baked rice with pork chop and tomato was an interesting take on baked pork chop over rice, as it literally is the same thing but inside a bread bowl. Service was fast and efficient. The bread bowl was super crispy, almost cracker like and was really good. The pork chop was very tender. I would have liked it with more sauce. This is a very carb-full entree with bread and rice. Lastly we got pineapple bun with luncheon meat and fried egg. Egg was super fresh and orange, oozing out as you bite it. Pineapple bun was warm and moist. I would have liked it more if the top was crispier. Overall solid meal!

I picked a breakfast combo that was 32 HKD. I asked for my beverage served iced, and paid extra 3 HKD. My understanding is that this surcharge for iced drink is quite normal. My breakfast plate was served within minutes after I placed the order. It was okay, and I got full from my meal. I suppose the highlight was the HK style milk tea. So smooth and the milk tea flavor was not overwhelming! Definitely get it iced and have a refreshing start to your day in the city. No credit card. Only cash or WeChat pay.

Well thank goodness we found this place because it was a god send. Fairly close to the exits of the East Tsim Sha Tsui station, we at first didn't know where it was but good thing TripAdvisor had some good photos to find it. We walked in and there were a good amount of folks inside enjoying their food and the bbq and roasted meats were a good sign. They did have a menu, but their English is definitely limited. We tried to get a combination BBQ plate, but certain items were not available for the combo. Eventually we did end up getting a two item BBQ plate (roasted duck and bbq pork) and wonton noodle. We got so much food for the price. It was ridiculous! The meats were succulent and rich and hit the spot. The wontons were super flavorful and you can see the shrimp in it. The egg noodles were perfectly cooked and had a nice bite to them. There was a side soup which was basically a clean broth. Would I come back again? Heck yes! In a heart beat for the prices they give. Now I just need to figure out to say "more tea" and "do you have napkins" cause in the whole time we were there we got one cup of tea and had no sight of napkins at all. Good thing I had a reserve of napkins in my bag. It also seemed to be okay to bring in food from the outside as a table next to us was eating some of the nearby street food.

Food is Hong Kong Style Cafe fair, famous for their HK Style Coffee & Milk Tea, they also have HK Style BBQ and other familiar dishes. Since we have a bit of time to kill before our movie starts, we decided to give this place a try! Ordered Rice Noodles with BBQ Duck / Steamed Chicken, soup base of the Rice Noodles were very tasty unlike some places where this type of noodle soup usually have very little flavour. Both the BBQ Duck & the Steamed Chicken were done well, meat succulent, skin was still crispy, I also love the fact that they bring the ginger & onion sauce / plumb sauce without having to be asked. Also ordered the Singapore Fried Rice Vermicelli, this was ok, lacks a bit of salt, but still very tasty without being greasy! A nice place to have Hong Kong Style afternoon tea set, and I would imagine during work week this place will be packed as there are not that many choices in the Cyberport area.

We were in the Mong Kong area, I did a Google search and this place came up as being the closest to us. On Google it rated a solid 4 stars. It was around 2:00 on a Monday afternoon, when we got there we were immediately seated. Staff was welcoming. They had numerous menus showing all kinds of dishes and specials most of which were in Chinese. Using Google Translate helped. They did have a couple of menus with English translation too. We ordered claypot rice dishes since that was what we were craving. They had quite a few choices. I ordered the Grilled Eel claypot rice and my wife ordered the Abalone claypot rice. After a little wait our orders came out. They were served steaming hot. My order came with a bonus "fan jiu" or scorched rice on the side. They were delicious and my wife and I agreed most satisfying. The few aunties that waited on us spoke little to no English, but were friendly enough. They were patient and we were able to convey what we wanted to order. Since it wasn't busy we were able to take our time eating and rest a little after walking around all morning. Of course we also got milk tea to go with our meals. I will comeback the next time I'm back in HK.

It seems to be pretty popular with the locals - there were a few DLLM's floating around, so you already know. We were told that clay pot rice is also a crowd favorite here, but we unfortunately didn't have the stomach space for it. Scallops were $120 HKD for 4, and all were pretty sizeable.

This one was new to me and I went there to meet a dear friend and her husband from Singapore who was in town. I don't eat fish noodle soup in the US so of course I had to order it at Tsui Wah. We also ordered an extra bowl of just fish balls and fish cake. Noodles were slightly soft, not soggy and fish balls were good. My friend and her husband was craving wontons in chili oil and braised beef with tendons and okra. They really enjoyed their dishes. Everything we ordered was good, but I'm docking off a star for the servers in the restaurant (who weren't Chinese BTW and we weren't sure whether to speak in Chinese or English?). Just to get someone to take our order was a huge undertaking in waving them down, trying not to get enraged from their piss-and-vinegar faces. :(

Some would call this the upscale version of Denny's (for my fellow Americans out there), but the only real comparison is that it's a chain. The food here is legit. All the HK cafe staples you'd need and want. And then some. Staff is okay. Nothing terribly rude, as you'd expect from any Chinese restaurant. There's English and photos throughout the menu, so that was extremely helpful. We ordered the Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup in Fish Broth and Scrambled Egg with Sea Bass Chow Fun. And man, both were amazingly delish. Color me impressed. The fish broth was def coming through. The wontons were packed with the shrimp. The sea bass was fresh. The chow fun had the right amount of seasoning. The hot sauce on the side gave the perfect amount of kick I was seeking. And both dishes came out to $17USD. Pretty standard pricing. As for the one star knock down, it's due to the limited breakfast menu. We were so excited from delish midnight snack, that we came back for breakfast two days later. Unfortunately, before 10:30am, there's only four meal options. None of which I could eat. 4 stars

After eating so much street food, vendor food, and night market food, we all agreed that a place with more "pure" ingredients would be better for lunch. There really are a ton of selections offered from their menu. You can have rice or noodle soup, your soup can be dry or in a broth, you can have different types of seafood balls, chicken wings, beef brisket, you can choose the type of noodle you want, etc. The possibilities are endless. Prices are also fairly cheap. A bowl of soup is around $28 HKD which is about $4 USD. I think that's a steal! I ordered the beef ball noodle soup with thicker rice noodles. The broth was really clear, and the overall dish was what I needed to combat my unhealthy meals from the days before. There were 5 beef balls in the soup and a ton of cilantro thrown on top, which I loved. Noodles were cooked on point - slightly chewy. Beef balls had that resilient bite to them - overall a really solid dish. My mom ordered her pork knuckle soup with thicker rice noodles and was disappointed that the soup was tomato based. Apparently many restaurants in HK like using tomato based soups/sauces when cooking with pork knuckle, something I am not accustomed to. Overall the dish wasn't bad, but my mom wasn't a fan of the soup because of the tomato taste and the amount of oil in it. The pork knuckle also was cooked in tomato broth, so it definitely didn't have the taste she was looking for. A pass on this dish. The soup noodle with fish ball - very similar to the beef ball soup, except that instead of beef balls, the dish had different types of fish balls. Soup was exactly the same as mine. If you're not a fan of beef balls and more into the seafood combination, I'd recommend this dish since you get to try more of a variety of toppings. Chicken wings with rice - this dish required a few extra minutes to cook since they actually cook the wings right then and there upon ordering. I thought it tasted pretty good. The dish had 3-4 chicken wings on it along with an egg. There was a good amount of rice as well as soy sauce drizzled on top of the rice, giving it enough flavor to eat if you happened to finish all of the wings. My sister thought the wings were really good - slightly crispy, but still juicy on the inside. And we ordered steamed vegetables, just to maintain our healthy lunch meal. The vegetables were not special, but tasted fine. Because the dishes didn't have any vegetables in them, it was a really smart idea that we got this on the side. Restaurant itself is fairly big with a ton of tables and booths inside. You pretty much seat yourself and the waitress will take your order when you're ready. And when you're finished, you pay at the front. Since the food comes out pretty fast, I don't expect that you'll have to wait since people seem to come in and out in under 30 minutes. tl;dr - Decent place for healthy food. A must if you love noodles and fish balls!
