Came here for brunch as it was near our hotel…read more We came 15 mins after opening and were seated quickly. They gave us a booklet along with the paper to fill out, and most of the dim sum was the classic dim sum that I'm accustomed to. Their chiu chou fun gor was alright for me. They did put a good amount of peanuts in here but the exterior was a bit heavier on the dough side. Their siu mai and har gow were pretty good. Their cheung fun wasn't the silky light type, so I was just alright with it. Their Chicken with Sticky Rice wraped in Lotus Leaf was huge though, way bigger than those in Los Angeles. Their fresh mango custard roll was my highlight though, as they had chunks of mango in the middle and it was sweet. Would try this again. I think the one other aspect of this place is the interior is really clean, and they have a decent amount of tables inside. Service is a bit more attentive as the area isn't as large. I was most certainly full upon completion of this meal though haha.

Mark your order down on the sheet and go to the register to pay and turn in your order. Prices seemed to be slightly on the higher side at a first glance, but our final check ended up being pretty affordable. We tried their har gow, siu mai, baked BBQ pork buns, shrimp rice rolls, deep fried pork dumplings, and deep fried shrimp wonton. Food came out fast and I was pretty happy with all the items we ordered. Overall, decent spot for dim sum but I'd probably only come back if the wait wasn't too long.

Ambience not the cleanest: a hole-in-wall, re-wash all your dishes place. But great dimsum that's pretty cheap - hence they are known as the most affordable Michelin Star restaurant in the world, with 1 star for good quality tasting food for price range. This location is just one of their many Tim Ho Wan branches so if this location is too far for you, there's several other branches in HK and even elsewhere in the world (e.g. NYC). Take out is an option- especially if you have children you don't want touching all the less clean surface areas. They do have high chairs and they don't exempt tea charge for toddlers. As for the dishes, our favorites were the Baked Bun with BBQ Pork and Steamed Egg Cake, which they are known for and indeed taste delicious. Hubby liked their Pan Fried Turnip Cake. We also liked the Glutinous Rice Dumpling which was 1 huge leaf wrapped steamed rice with meat (law mae gae). The Steamed Rice with Chicken Feet and Spareribs was another tasty dish. The Steamed Pork Dumpling with Shrimp (har gow) and Deep Fried Dumplings filled with Pork (ham sui gwok) were OK but was smaller than usual and didn't stand out. The Vermicelli with Beef Roll is one to avoid since the beef in it was too chewy. Overall, great tasting dishes! If looking for elevator to take you down to the lowest level of the mall where they are located, find the elevator on the 2nd floor next to Manning Kids.

DON'T ORDER TEA!…read more Trying this famous dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong to see what the fuzz is about. Mediocre food and standard service, really nothing to write home about. However, they charge tea for anyone over 3 years old even if only 1 person in your group drink tea? My 2 daughters don't drink tea (7 and 11) and they still will charge you for it. I have not heard of any 3-year-old that would drink tea. Also $15 for a bottle of water? Total money grab.

My grandpa always goes here for morning tea and dimsum and he really enjoys it here. The taste is real authentic dimsum with lots of flavor and nothing weird tasting of the sort. Since I came here for vacation, I basically went here quite often. Foods that you can't go wrong here is the custard bun, har gow, and siu mai. The chicken feet here is decent as well. The custard bun melts in your mouth!!! When you rip it in half, the custard just melts and it seriously looks gorgeous. Not to mention the taste was phenomenon. If any place is authentic, they cannot mess up the basic har gow and siu mai. As well for the chicken feet, its fresh, flavorful, and soft. Not many people enjoy the taste and taste of it but for me, it was 5/5. I came here once for brunch and they had a chow fun with beef slices. It was not too oily compared to what you can find in other places which I really appreciated. It was flavorful and not heavy. If you happen to order this dish, ask for a sweet and spicy hot sauce. They offer two kinds where one of them has chili flakes (I believe). Ask for the other one without chili flakes and add it with your chow fun. You'll thank me later.

Shunde is the best cuisine among all the other types of Cantonese food . Best of the best . That was why we much come here for dinner . I have been to this restaurant a few times over the years . One time we had table of 10 so we could order many different dishes . Tonight we were table of two . We still managed to finish 5 dishes , one bowl of rice and a large beer ! The inside ambience was great . Very classic and authentic. Even on a random Thursday night . It was pretty full . We went in early like 6 pm . So table was easy to get . The restaurant was located on second floor from the street level . You had to walk up three to four stairs .... Steep and 45 degree up . It could be a challenge for seniors and some people. There was a lift next door and could go up to second door and you could enter Fung Shing by the kitchen area ( back door ) . Fung Shing means Golden Phenix . The menu cover is golden and the restaurant has many wall decorations that share the glory and blessing of the Golden Phenix. Menu on the table are all in Chinese . Chef's skills is amazing . We ordered the small plate of crispy skin sucking pig . 5/5 $105 HK Steamed minced pork with wild squid . $148 HK . Tasty and the pork was manually chopped and messaged to the desired texture. It was tasty and not salty . 5/5 Garlic stirred fried vegetables $80 for all except $108 for pea sprouts. We planned to come back and order dishes each time we visited . 5/5 Star restaurant. One of their best dishes is a stuffed with 8 treasures duck ( needed to be pre ordered and it Coates $680 ) I had it once with table of ten ! One dollar in US money equal to $7.8 dollars in Hong Kong money . All dishes look amazing!

I have nothing bad to say about all the items that we had. Each one of us paid about 80 HKD and was able to try 13 different items. The breading was soft, bbq pork was tender and full of flavor and the top was sweet. Overall I thought that the flavors and texture were spot on and made this a wonderful plate. Can't wait for Tim Ho Wan to come to America. Hopefully they retain their pricing as well.
