Service (4/5): Not the friendliest service but food came out fast and efficiently. Ambiance (3/5): A bit of a cramped shop but looks like an authentic restaurant. This time it was hot, humid, and rainy around 11:20 am and our party of 4 was able to get a table easily though it was crowded again once we were finished. This place is so famous we saw people come straight from the airport with all their luggage! Portions are very good and probably too small for most people but I loved the size. Goose and Soy Sauce Chicken: They are most known for their roast goose which has a complex and layered seasoning different than other HK roast duck/goose places. This is my go to dish, this time it tasted great but my portion of goose was super small and I split it with a friend to not get too full so it was even smaller. We also ordered the same dish with noodles and roast pork with soy chicken, both the people who had this never had Yat Lok before and totally cleared their plates, don't forget to mix each bite with some of the oil scorched green onions!

Tai Hing has been my go-to Cantonese cafe ever since I started working Hong Kong. It is a chain…read morecafe located throughout Hong Kong's 3 areas just like Tsui Wah, but in my opinion I like what I get at Tai Hing. This location is inside the New Town Mall in Tsuen Wan, on the 2nd floor. The restaurant is not big, but enough for everyone to sit comfortably. To save space, all of the utensils are inside the drawers of each table. So if you don't know where they are, now you know. As a Cantonese cafe, you pay at the front of the restaurant before you leave. The price point is a little higher than regular local cafes, but still cheaper than Tsui Wah. Also, the quality of food does match the price that you are paying. So it's quite fair. Some of my favorite dishes, BBQ Pork and Roasted Duck combo, Soy Sauce Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Pork. I suggest ordering a combo since it comes with soup or drink, a side of rice, and a side of veggie. Since Hong Kong has lots of British influence, the afternoon tea option almost exist anywhere. At Tai Hing, the dishes are at a discounted price during afternoon tea time, which is around 2:30 to 5pm. My tip to you, go during afternoon tea time for a discount, but just go anytime to try it out. I know I will again.

Originally came across this place by watching a youtube food blogger. I came here with my parents…read morewho had not been back to Hong Kong in over 40 years. Won ton mein was the one thing he said he craved the most from his childhood so I took a chance and put the food vlogger to the test. We got a bowls of the beef tendon wonton noodle soup with add ons (chicken wings, extra dumplings in spicy sauce, and a sweet fungus dessert soup). ***Note: the menu makes it appear that you need to order a set (noodles + drink + add on) we came to find out afterwards that this was not the case. - The chicken wings were recommended by the waitress as a must try...it was terrible and favorless. - The extra dumplings were amazing! 6 dumplings (2 fish balls, 2 shrimp, 2 pork) - Fungus soup, not my thing by my mom seemed to like it The main attraction was the noodle soup which was amazing! The tendon was flavorful and so soft. The shrimp wontons were plentiful (I think I counted 5). The noodles had a great chew to them. We will stop buy one more time before we leave Hong Kong (this time I'm skipping the add ons and going for 2x noodle soup!)

Solid for won ton noodles in Tsim Sha Tsui. Came for a late lunch and seated immediately, did have…read moreto grab my own chopsticks from a nearby table, but all good. Service is efficient, interior is typical Hong Kong contemporary, and the won tons are typical Hong Kong sized. Overall, the whole meal was quite tasty, and on the upper half of the won ton noodles I've had recently.
