If you want to eat like the locals do, I recommend eating at Sam Hui Yat. It's literally a hole in the wall type of place, but one that won't disappoint. A lot of middle aged men and grandpas hang out here, so you might feel out of place. Their menu has English on it, but no one here speaks English so you might be better off just pointing at which items you want to order or come with someone who can speak Cantonese!
The dim sum here is fantastic! Everything is super fresh and flavorful. It's all hand made as expected of a mom and pop shop. The portions are a bit small, but since the food is gluttonous -- you will get full very fast. It's also very inexpensive to eat here as well!
Come have some dim sum and watch the world go by on the streets of Hong Kong.
Note: looks like they take only cash here only!! read more
