Italian food is our most favorite cuisine. Many Italian restaurants are fancy high price place restaurants. We were excited to find a casual Italian restaurant where the emphasis is on serving delicious food rather than having a fancy setting. The fried zucchini with homemade ranch dressing was very good. Be sure to ask for additional parmesan cheese to sprinkle on it. The rigatoni with vodka sauce was very good. I had the Buratta salad with red pepper strips and balsamic glaze. I would order this again. One minor point. The salad greens were about 50% spinach leaves and then the other 50% was mixed lettuce. For me, that was too much spinach. Their balsamic dressing was perfect for this salad. I wish we lived closer to this restaurant. I would come here very.often.

Woodfire: Where Simplicity, Good Food, and Good People Still Mean Something…read more There's something beautiful about a restaurant that doesn't feel the need to reinvent the wheel. No unnecessary theatrics. No pretentious bullshit. Just honest food, made by people who clearly give a damn about what they're putting on your plate. Another lunch at Woodfire. Another reminder of why we keep coming back. We started with the Tuscan Fries. Potatoes cooked in beef tallow, finished with garlic, herbs, and Parmesan, with a side of garlic aioli. Crispy, rich, unapologetically garlicky. The kind of thing you tell yourself you'll only have a few of before realizing you've damn near polished off the entire plate. I love them. My wife, however, tends to lean in the opposite direction whenever I attempt to kiss her afterward. A small price to pay for greatness. Next came the Rosemary Sausage Pizza. No sauce? No problem. Dough. Mozzarella. Rosemary. Sausage. That's it. Four ingredients doing exactly what they're supposed to do. Nothing hiding behind a gallon of tomato sauce or an avalanche of unnecessary toppings. Just a beautiful marriage of flavors, each one knowing its place. Sometimes the most impressive thing a kitchen can do is know when to leave something the hell alone. This remains one of my favorites here. Then came something I wasn't quite prepared for. The Chef's Special: "Ronald Mac Donald." A name that sounds suspiciously like someone forgot to replace the placeholder text before sending the menu to the printer. But don't let the name fool you. This was, without exaggeration, arguably one of the finest chili macs I've had the pleasure of shoveling into my face. Let's start with the pasta. Made fresh, in-house. And the cook on these noodles? Jesus Christ. Absolutely beautiful. That perfect al dente bite. Firm enough to remind you that you're eating real pasta, tender enough to make you immediately reach for another forkful. Whoever was responsible for cooking those noodles deserves a handshake and a cold beer. And the beef chili? Rich, hearty, deeply satisfying. The kind of flavor that doesn't happen by accident. You can taste the time, the patience, the care that went into its preparation. This wasn't some half-assed pot of ground beef and canned tomatoes thrown together to fill a menu slot. This was comfort food with a soul. Now, what good is a meal like this without a beer? Fortunately, Woodfire has that covered, too. As if making their own pizza dough, fresh pasta, and damn near everything else in-house wasn't enough, they've gone a step further with their own beer, produced through Carlyle Brewing in Rockford, Illinois. I went with the Honey Jar. Light. Refreshing. A subtle touch of sweetness. Nothing overpowering, nothing complicated. Just a damn good beer that knows exactly what it is. Sitting there on an unusually warm fall afternoon, enjoying good food and even better company, it was exactly what the occasion called for. And finally, there's Kevin, the bartender. Food might get people through the door, but people like Kevin are what bring them back. There's a difference between someone who simply serves you and someone who genuinely makes you feel welcome. Kevin understands that difference. His attention to detail, his hospitality, and his seemingly endless positivity are something you don't encounter nearly enough in this industry. The man remembers you like you've been neighbors for fifty years. Not because he's working an angle or fishing for a bigger tip, but because he seems to genuinely enjoy the people sitting across from him. And in a world where hospitality is increasingly treated like a transaction, that's worth a hell of a lot. Woodfire isn't trying to be something it isn't. It doesn't need to. Good ingredients. Honest cooking. Cold beer. Genuine hospitality. Sometimes that's all you need. And sometimes, when it's done this well, it's everything.

Woodfire fits naturally into the heart of Dundee -- relaxed, welcoming, and easy to enjoy. The…read morepizza is the highlight, bringing a fun, flavorful approach that works well for both casual nights out and group dinners. Once the pastas arrived, we did ask for some more bread which sadly came out a but stale. The first round was WAY better. My friend started cutting into her pasta and immediately found a hair baked in. We called our server over and they immediately took it away to remake. They offered a complimentary dessert but we kindly asked to comp the dish instead. The Rigatoni Mama was tasty and a good portion to share! And the reason for the two stars is primarily for the fact that if you are going to have a near $30 meal these days for lunch, I expect it to be very satisfactory. I have enclosed pictures so you can see the huge amount of oil that was floating on top and basically soaking everything. I got the chicken Marsala and I was informed after I was pretty much finished and said well I didn't find it inedible but I did find the oil to be in abundance and not something I'd order again. I have always got the chicken Marsala here and it's never been like this. She said they changed the recipe about a month ago. I love chicken Marsala and never had it so oily. She said she'd mention it to the chef. I'm sorry but I would say cook at a chain restaurant but that's just a thought of mine not something I mentioned. Anyway I again brought it up to the manager on the way out and he said it was from the spinach that is sautéed in butter.. no it was oil and the spinach was not soaked in either. He said sorry . Now I don't know if you have to be a raging lunatic when you say you are not happy with a meal to get something more as compensation for your time and the fact that even though you said I always get the chicken Marsala but I will not be ordering it again if this is the new recipe or what, but I guess I am going to give up on lunches at Biaggis altogether after this and my last visit to the deer park ones disappointing dessert that was so hot it burnt my tongue. If you're looking for a pizza place with a great ambiance and a wide selection of delicious menu items, then ZZA Factory is the perfect spot for you! Located at 51 N. State St, Elgin, IL 60123, this pizza house has everything you need for a satisfying meal. First off, the ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. The interior design is modern and sleek, with comfortable seating and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The lighting is just right, creating a cozy and intimate setting that's perfect for a night out with friends or family. But the real star of the show at ZZA Factory is their menu. They have an incredibly diverse selection of pizzas, from classic pepperoni to more adventurous combinations like buffalo chicken or pesto and goat cheese. And if pizza isn't your thing, they also have a great selection of salads, sandwiches, and appetizers to choose from. No matter what you order, you can rest assured that it will be delicious. The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, and the pizzas are cooked to perfection in their wood-fired oven. And if you're feeling particularly adventurous, you can even build your own pizza with all your favorite toppings. Overall, I highly recommend ZZA Factory to anyone looking for a great pizza place with a welcoming atmosphere and a huge menu to choose from. It's definitely one of my new favorite spots, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings! read more

We ordered from Zza on Grub Hub. We got the pound of golden bbq wings. It was enough to feed two people. The fries were on the soggy side (which I love and my wife hates so more for me) but I liked the natural cut and flavor. The wings were actually really good. My only real complaint is that the "brownoli" didn't have nearly as much filling as advertised. The delivery was very quick and the driver followed the instructions to call and not knock bc we had a sleeping baby inside. Overall, I would order from here again the next time we were in town or try eating in. read more

The owner handled checkout himself, was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant looked clean and well-kept which is always a great first impression. Once home, we dug in. The chicken parm sandwich was excellent: generously cheesy, with a tangy sauce that avoided being overly sweet. The bread was lightly buttered with just a hint of garlic, adding flavor without overpowering the sandwich. The chicken itself was thick, juicy, and very tender... not dry, not greasy, just done right. The way you expect it to be. The ribs were equally satisfying. They were very tender, tho not quite falling off the bone, but close enough to show proper cooking, they had a rich, smoky sauce that had real depth of flavor glazed over them. The fries were the only minor miss; they could have been crispier and benefited from a touch more salt, but they didn't detract from the overall meal.
