Went here to attend an event and had an opportunity to try out many of their different styles of pizza. I overall found the pizza to be fairly standard for what I'd expect to find in a pub - filling, a bit salty, and filled with plenty of toppings. I found the crust to be fairly flavorful, with a good consistency to support the toppings though I would've preferred maybe if it was either a bit more crispy or soft, instead of the in-between texture. I like how the cheese was browned slightly and provided in a relatively thick layer. The sauce was alright in the pizza, I would've preferred a little more inside for a better crust/sauce/cheese ratio for a more balanced bite. The service is friendly and fairly quick here, despite it being fairly busy. The restaurant itself is also impressively spacious and decorated quite nicely. Overall, this is a solid place to enjoy a pizza if you're in the area.

Good pizza, good service and generous beers for the money (24 ounce I think). The wife and I have been here a couple of times killing time on the way to visit family way out here. There are dead animals mounted on the walls and animal sculptures. decor certainly is interesting. We most recently had the Mexican (with cauliflower critter) and Margherita pizzas. Both were good. The cauliflower crust is good. Not a huge difference between it and the standard crust.

The pizza was fantastic! Living in central Florida now, it is difficult to find good pizza and impossible to find Chicago pizza, this was fantastic though!!

Village Pizza & Pub is a great place to go for bar trivia. We went there for their annual Christmas pub trivia game. The restaurant provided pizzas and soft drinks (alcoholic drinks were not on the house) for the trivia participants. I think that this is a great way to show appreciation for the many regular trivia players. The trivia was fun and the pizzas hit the spot. The servers that waited on the area were great. They worked hard to make sure that everyone was well taken care of. The restaurant was wonderfully decorated for the holidays. After the trivia game, there was a white elephant gift exchange that went past the closing time. A fun time was had by all. I will make sure to go back next year and may stop back for trivia if I'm in the area as well.

Very nice pizza to go or to stay and dine in. We like this place, especially the spicy Italian pizza. We will absolutely return.

Quality of pizza has gone down, no longer crispy as it once was, now doughy/uncooked.

Pizza use to be good. Now they suck. Also, look out for the nickle and diming with the extra fees. Good thing Morettis is next door.

Visted Woodfire after a business colleague recommend the restaurant…read more My wife and another couple made dinner reservations on 1/17/26, for 6 PM. We arrived promptly at 5:50 PM and were told by the hostess that our table would be ready shortly. I will say the restaurant was packed with families enjoying dinner. We were seated at approximately 6:20 PM when multiple tables opened up. While waiting for our table I noticed the various dishes being served to the tables in my viewing area. They smelled amazing and appeared to have very generous portions (leftovers). We were seated and our waitress Dalena M, quickly came to our table for our adult beverage selection. I ordered a Cozy Sweater beer, which was too light of a beer for my liking. Our friends ordered a red glass of wine and a lemon martini. For our appetizers we ordered Grilled Octopus, which was cooked to perfection. For our main entrees, I ordered a Fields of wheat chicken & bacon Ranch pizza & my wife ordered a Margherita pizza. Again, both pizzas were cooked to perfection. I was a bit jealous as I also have a woodfired pizza oven from Italy in my backyard, but unfortunately mine dough never tastes this delicious. For dessert my wife ordered Affogato (which is he go-to dessert) which was delicious. I ordered a coffee and strawberry cheesecake. The coffee was very good, and the cheesecake was very creamy and not dry. We are planning on returning with our adult children and their spouses.

(And we're Lou's routine customers, so if I order a 2nd pizza from you it's a big deal). They've decorated beautifully for the season. Lovely. The party room looks awesome, I'd love to know it's happily used for lotsa fun Elgin events . Tomato & mozz salad underwhelming. But a good healthy addition to everything we were ordering even if mediocre. Heavens sake we need fresh veges sometimes Mom loved the crispy onion rings & the dressing (our appetizer). It was all about making her happy - and extra crispy onion rings with plenty of dip = happiness The holiday decorations plus lotsa Taxidermy kinda odd but Mom was fascinated. If she's happy I'm thrilled. Overall. Giant space in South Elgin. Lovely. Pizza was very well priced. Our server was awesome esp my Mom's obvious dementia impacting her public food activity (shoot, I can't remember our servers name - but she was obviously a pro & handled my family, I'd be happy to hang out with her again). Near Gail Borden Library South Elgin branch - I'd happily spend a couple hours there....

It still took my order but I had no confirmation and felt like I was going in blind. I placed the order and it said it would be ready in 1 hr 15 min. I ordered $100 worth of pizza including the pan pizza. I knew it would take longer because the menu said so. Went to pick up. Customer service wasn't even average. The young girl working was miserable. No hi, how are you, smile, or customer service period. Just hit me with the old, what's the name on the order. I told her and she says it's going to be an additional 25 min. Was not happy to hear considering the weather was getting worse outside and I had 6 other people waiting on me for dinner. I waited inside an additional 35 minutes until the order was finally done. I understand it was a Saturday night and football was on, but, like another Yelper posted below, let the customer know ahead of time. Have the system update and let folks know it will be a longer wait. While I was waiting for the order, someone called in asking where their pizza was. There was confusion amongst the staff and the customer on phone was told the driver was finally on the way. That explained a lot right there. Seems this is a common issue. The pizza was not correct as ordered. Ended up with different toppings than what we had originally ordered but everyone had waited 2 hours to eat so we just ate it. The pizza is OK. A friend recommended this place and honestly, there's so many better choices in the Chicagoland area. I don't think I'll be back! If you do order- beware of wait times!

When I called I was very disappointed to hear they discontinued my staple, The Grinder on garlic toast. Oh well...I am flexible... I was exited about the chicken parmesan sandwich in garlic toast, we also ordered a chicken Alfredo, Italian beef and fries. To start with my chicken parmesan WAS NOT on garlic toast (which I paid extra for) the chicken was overcooked, dry and strips. Ate about three bites. The fries we under cooked and soggy and the chicken parmesan had NO flavor. Italian beef was neither good nor bad... Well, anyone can have an off day so I decided I would just stick to their pizza which historically had been delicious. Fast forward to today, I was returning for a 2.5 hour drive and thought I'd treat myself to a delicious pizza for today and preparing for tomorrows incoming snow storm. I picked the pizza up and headed home. Sadly, I should have checked it there before leaving...the bacon was all burnt (tasted burnt not just looked burnt). Yes, I did pick off most of the burnt bacon, but got $30+ for a picked up pizza that is not really ok with me ... beyond that the crust was soggy and I couldn't really pick up the pieces to eat them. It will be an extremely long time before I order or go there again. Makes me very sad as this used to be a staple of mine and it is SOOOO close to home. Good luck if you choose to give them a try...
