Linguini Del Mar

I tried Dominick's Italian Ristorante and had some mixed reviews about the place. Walking in, it had a classic Italian vibe on the restaurant area. There seem to have some vintage pictures on the wall and the ceiling had a decorative art on it. Oddly enough, there was no music at the time. Sitting and waiting for the food to come out is a bit awkward unless you have some people to talk to. Our server Bebe was very kind and helpful. She kept our cups full and got us what we needed during the dinner. The food was good. I got the rigatoni Dominick which was a rigatoni in vodka sauce, sausage, peppers and onions. The portion size is pretty big compared to other places. The taste was good but I think might do well with either a spicer sausage or some red chili flakes. I did finish the plate but ended up having a massive food coma after leaving. I tried the rest of my party's dishes and had mixed reviews. I tried the chicken parm which had a sweeter sauce than I am used too. The calamari Dominick tasted very similar to their linguini Del Mar without the vegetables and some shrimp and mussels. Both sauces seem a little too watery for my taste. The bread they give you is really good though. It had a very crusty outside with a soft inside. Would I go back? I might go back but I might try the pizza next time or something else. The rigatoni was good but I started getting food fatigue after eating for a while. I really would like some music of some sort while I eat.

always great food great service one day. I will check out the ambience as we dare, but normally we take it to go. The portions are huge and it's our go to for pasta and sandwiches.

Thin crust sausage cooked to perfection

Great freshly made Italian food and pizza. Great service and very clean . All the things that matter when I'm spending my money to eat out.

I always did take out and most recently started dining in. Service is perfection, food is amazing! They only serve wine and beer btw. Love the spaghetti, I can't get enough of it. LARGE portions, the homemade bread is delicious. I just love coming here, the food is always consistent. Highly recommend!!!

To preface- I had walked out due to servers seating me but not dropping water or checking for orders in 30 minutes, but the last two times I have been the service was fantastic! The martinis and the wine selection are both great. For appetizers, we love the goat cheese bruschetta. It is rich and flavorful. The calamari is always a solid choice too. For entrees, while the vodka sauce is killer on everything I have found myself DREAMING of the Bucatini Carbonara on any given night. It is by far the best dish out of all our groups that have come. Last time we came was a friend's birthday at the end of the evening and at no point did we feel rushed, but rather celebrated and they even brought a dessert for the birthday girl! Such a nice time! Looking forward to coming back and trying some new dishes soon- maybe, because the Bucatini was THAT good!

The runners quickly brought us waters, complimentary bread, and a balsamic glaze/olive oil mixture to dip bread into. The menu had a great variety. I ended up sharing the Rigatoni Mama and my friend got the Homemade Manicotti. The pastas did take a while to come out but the patio was pretty packed. Once the pastas arrived, we did ask for some more bread which sadly came out a but stale. The first round was WAY better. My friend started cutting into her pasta and immediately found a hair baked in. We called our server over and they immediately took it away to remake. They offered a complimentary dessert but we kindly asked to comp the dish instead. The Rigatoni Mama was tasty and a good portion to share! With all the hardships, our server Hannah could not have been better. She navigated the situation calmly and professionally. She was very understanding and continued to bring a happy demeanor to our table. I could not be more impressed by her service level especially since the manager did not stop at our table to correct the situation.

The suburbs don't usually inspire much confidence when someone tells you they're taking you out for…read morepizza. More often than not, you're looking at another tavern-cut pie, a dozen televisions screaming sports highlights, and a menu designed by committee. Safe. Predictable. Forgettable. Then there's Woodfire. I ended up here with my family celebrating my son's second birthday and was immediately reminded that every now and then, hidden among the endless strip malls and chain restaurants of the Chicago suburbs, you'll stumble across a place that actually gives a damn. The Vodka Pizza arrived looking almost too good to touch. Almost. Hot Calabrian vodka sauce. Fresh mozzarella. Shallot. Pepperoni. Ricotta. Basil. A combination that sounds familiar enough until that first bite lands and the heat punches through. Not the fake, watered-down, suburban version of spicy that restaurants use to avoid frightening anyone. This pizza has conviction. It has backbone. The Calabrian peppers make their presence known immediately and refuse to apologize for it. Good. Food should have an opinion. The crust, charred, blistered, beautifully imperfect, comes from house-made dough cooked in a wood-fired oven that sits like the beating heart of the restaurant. Every pie carries those little marks of fire that remind you an actual human being made it. Not a conveyor belt. Not a timer. Fire. Flour. Skill. And speaking of things that deserve respect, let's talk about the bar. Kevin has become something of a local legend in Dundee. The kind of bartender whose name gets mentioned before the cocktail list. The kind of guy who understands that making drinks isn't about pouring alcohol into a glass. It's hospitality, theater, craftsmanship, and just enough mischief to keep things interesting. Still chasing the heat from the pizza, I ordered the Spicy Flamingo. A dangerous drink. Sweet enough to invite you in. Spicy enough to keep you paying attention. The kind of cocktail that disappears faster than you intended and leaves you contemplating a second before the first one is gone. Around us, bussers moved through the dining room like a pit crew at Daytona. Tables were cleaned before they looked dirty. Empty glasses vanished. New guests were seated. The machine never stopped moving. Then there's Chef Mason. It's obvious someone in that kitchen understands the difference between cooking food and feeding people. There's technique here. Knowledge. Discipline. But thankfully none of the self-important nonsense that infects so many restaurants once they start believing their own press. Woodfire isn't trying to change your life. It's not trying to educate you. It's not trying to be the coolest restaurant in the room. Like Ferris Bueller, it understands that life moves pretty fast. So instead of chasing trends, it focuses on making exceptional handmade pizza, memorable pasta, serious cocktails, and creating a place where people actually want to spend an evening. In a world full of restaurants desperately trying to be something, Woodfire succeeds by simply being exactly what it is. And that's a hell of a lot rarer than it should be.

Woodfire fits naturally into the heart of Dundee -- relaxed, welcoming, and easy to enjoy. The…read morepizza is the highlight, bringing a fun, flavorful approach that works well for both casual nights out and group dinners. The pasta and appetizers are solid across the board, and the drinks round out the experience nicely. Dinner with the family was nice; the waiter spilled my drink all over my lap. Not a big deal, I laughed it off and he gave us a discount on our bill, which wasn't necessary. Lunch with the girls was also nice. I had soup and a salad. One of my friends ordered soup and salad, her soup was very, very salty so our waitress offered to bring her a different soup. And the reason for the two stars is primarily for the fact that if you are going to have a near $30 meal these days for lunch, I expect it to be very satisfactory. I have enclosed pictures so you can see the huge amount of oil that was floating on top and basically soaking everything. I got the chicken Marsala and I was informed after I was pretty much finished and said well I didn't find it inedible but I did find the oil to be in abundance and not something I'd order again. I have always got the chicken Marsala here and it's never been like this. She said they changed the recipe about a month ago. I love chicken Marsala and never had it so oily. She said she'd mention it to the chef. I'm sorry but I would say cook at a chain restaurant but that's just a thought of mine not something I mentioned. Anyway I again brought it up to the manager on the way out and he said it was from the spinach that is sautéed in butter.. no it was oil and the spinach was not soaked in either. He said sorry . Now I don't know if you have to be a raging lunatic when you say you are not happy with a meal to get something more as compensation for your time and the fact that even though you said I always get the chicken Marsala but I will not be ordering it again if this is the new recipe or what, but I guess I am going to give up on lunches at Biaggis altogether after this and my last visit to the deer park ones disappointing dessert that was so hot it burnt my tongue. So bye bye Biaggis. My money is valuable to me and my business should be to you.
