Most places will simply tell you that they can fix any problem you have and just bring your PC to them. So after more research I was able to recover data from my PC much to my relief, even though it still doesn't boot up properly. I spoke with Jim again today and explained what I'd done. He advised me that my options were to either buy a new PC or spend $175 to reinstall Windows. Considering my PC is 9 years old, I'll opt to buy a new one. And the best part of the whole experience was that Jim actually gave me some advice on what to look for in a new PC. Even though I never had Jim fix my PC, I'm really glad that I spoke with him. He's a class act and I appreciate him taking time to help me even though he wasn't getting paid. Needless to say if I ever have PC issues in the future I'll call Jim.

I do not question a service call costing 65 dollars; I believe, after reviewing other companies that the cost of a service call and travel is very reasonable for at home service. What I question is if a computer is absolutely shot, so old and out of date that it is not wise to have it "fixed", might Beck's Techs have provided a new computer/laptop for the total cost of $795.00 back in 2022. That is the kind of work James Beck's company has always done for me and my husband. This company provides honest service, provides quality parts or replacements and does an excellent job for their customers. They are a local company who will make sure your computer system is up and running correctly and advise you when you have a problem. If problems are severe, they will return your call and come back to your home office/business when necessary. Work done for us over the years: clean up a desktop, new laptops when necessary due to age of desktops, hook up an older large monitor to a new laptop so work can be done that requires using two screens simultaneously when necessary, and cleaning up help or explanation with files when needed. We trust Beck's Techs with all IT problems and have even given him remote access when needed for fast fixes! We could not expect any better service or equipment from Beck's Techs for the money we have paid over many, many years. Owner is definitely an expert in the field of computer/IT systems, cyber security, etc.

Took my son's phone in to get repaired because battery was no longer charging. We pick up the phone, it charges again yay right? No. Because on the way home we discover that now the side action button does not function. At all. Can't use Apple Pay, cannot unlock the phone when in sleep mode. My son's phone now can charge but basically cannot do anything else without being an ordeal. Long story short, after multiple attempts of calling and being told "I don't know I just work for the guy" and "oh he's away on vacation" I have given up trying to figure out a solution to this issue. I didn't ask for money back. I didn't blame them for doing a horrible pathetic job. I just wanted to inquire if they'd be interested in purchasing the new battery back for a fraction of the cost so we could possibly recoup some money as well. Pity. Being unreachable when a customer has issue is not a good look. Beware, shady practices.

Is kind is crazy to me, I pay 11$ an hr for a mechanic to look over my truck. Not a computer. I just think the prices are way too high. And the drive wasn't even damaged, only the screen was damaged. You pay 65$ when you drop it off, then they called me back to order the screen I could have paid the full bill of 460$, but I decided to pay 220$. And then I was told an 110$ N hour for labor and they'll charge me 4 hrs off the bat. I doubt it even take that long if they're as professional as they say. But then I ended up paying another 580$ when I picked it up. So your telling me another 5 hrs to bypass to get me to get apple again. Idk, it is what it is now.
