Foods solid, nice room but for some reason they serve red wine at room temperature or even a few degrees warmer which is totally unacceptable. When I asked about bringing in our own wine it's a $25 corkage fee which is the highest I've ever seen. Here's a suggestion, lower your corkage fee to $10 or spend a few dollars and invest in a $600 red wine fridge so we can have a proper glass of wine with our pasta. read more

First time here but will not be our last! Very nice staff and the owner is a hoot! He's very accommodating and friendly. Pizza was excellent. Good chew and flavor in the crust. We made reservations here earlier today and when we arrived, they did not "have" our reservations. That wasn't a big deal, we've both been in the industry and understood that things happen. It was the lack of concern or care from the man, who seemed like the manager, that bothered us most. He suggested he could seat us at the bar. We showed him our email confirmation and he said it may have been his fault. When we said, we could go somewhere else, he shrugged his shoulders as if to say, probably best. So we left. After sitting in our car looking for more local Italian restaurants, we located and went to Amalfi...not far from there and had one of the best authentic Italian meals ever in the states...reminded us of our trip to Italy. Hard to rate food when you wait over 2 hours for it. This is a small place and we have eaten here before., food is good but not sure it's worth waiting 2 hours. Owner Sal is there on the floor but never comes over to apologize...Does he expect people to just wait? A small restaurant like this can have best food in the world but really bad service is not worth the wait. They have been open for 1 year and still can't seem to figure out how to get food out on a busy night. I highly suggest they get more help. I feel bad for servers as they are faced with making up excuses over and over. Sal, we love ur food but you really need to understand customer service and appreciate the people that want to eat there. Yeah, we waited over two hours -party of 4 -2 bottles of wine later - waiting 2 hours and a $200 bill- you will not see us back there for awhile. This place was really tasty! The service was good too. I definitely recommend the lasagna and their marinara was very authentic which is something I had yet to find in this area. I did find it odd that their eggplant parm did not come with any pasta or anything on the side whatsoever. My husband and I will definitely be back though! read more

I have been searching all over the southern parts of the country for the past six months for a restaurant that meets the standards of the meals I had in Rome and Florence. I found it in Roswell Georgia; ZUZZU! Not only was the food delicious, it was the closest to authentic Italian food I have found in this country. The wine was lovely and the ambience was perfect. This is a small intimate restaurant with a very welcoming feeling. You will most likely be greeted by the owner, Sam, and he will make you feel special. Restaurant is cozy and wait staff is friendly and attentive. Ciabatta bread is made fresh here. My wife and I enjoyed the most delicious eggplant parmesan -- certainly the best in metro Atlanta and better than most in New York! We will certainly return to try other entrees. read more

My husband and I, along with another couple, had dinner at ZuZZu a few weeks ago. We had all eaten at ZuZZu before and always enjoyed our meals. When I learned that the ownership had changed I wondered if our dining experience would be different. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the new owner and shown to our table. We visited with the new owner and learned about his life and how he came to purchase the restaurant. What a friendly, kind person he is. We enjoyed wine, delicious bread, salads, lasagna, and a pasta dish. Everything was absolutely delicious just like always! The finishing touch was the scrumptious cannoli that each of us had for dessert. We were happy to get to know the new owner. Happy to know the wine and food are as wonderful as ever. We supposedly were lucky that they got a cancellation for a reservation last night. Now I see why the party cancelled. First let me say that the pizza is excellent and if they had just stuck with that concept they would and will be successful. The crust is excellent and the sauce to ingredients ratio is right on point. Things take a u turn when you order entrees and appetizers. The length of time it takes to get things out to the table from the small kitchen is ridiculous. The caprese salad is swimming in balsamic and kills the flavor of the tomatoes and taints the cheese which tastes like it is from Kroger. The swordfish is pure destruction of what could have been a decent piece of fish. It is sliced thin for some unknown reason and comes swimming in a bowl of olive oil and tasteless tomatoes and with all that liquid it was still dry as a bone. We were also steered towards the special of the night lasagna which is not on the regular menu for obvious reasons. At $18 it is a piece is served naked on the plate and was burned and tasted microwaved since it was hotter in the center than on the outside of the serving. The worst offense of the evening was the $6 side of Brussel sprouts that were supposed to be roasted. A large serving came to the table and immediately the table smelled rancid. I know Brussel sprouts have an odor when cooking but these were truly offensive. They looked boiled not roasted and were mealy in texture. We asked the server to remove them from the table which he did and then there was the conversation with the manager and the server. They were not taken off the bill but instead reduced to $3 on the final bill. The manager never said a word and we were presented with the bill for $190 for 5 people. In reading past reviews it is apparently under new management. New but not improved. read more

Wow. The food is so amazing! The basics- top shelf! Caprese, spaghetti and meatballs that you will crave for days. Thin and crispy and decadent pizzas. They are having some brand new restaurant foibles- short on menus, staff not familiar with some items, food delivery delayed and not timed great. Great expectations were quickly quelled by a air conditioning pipe dripping in my lap...a waiter that was kind but not attentive, food that came out at different times(my wife's meal was delivered at least 10 minutes ahead of mine) and a chicken parmegean that was mediocre at best. My wife is Italian on both sides of her family. She's also a fabulous cook. So she's very picky about Italian restaurants. So many in the Atlanta area advertise great Italian food but don't deliver. We've tried way too many and rarely been pleased. My boss suggested we try Zuzzu. He's from Philadelphia and knows good Italian food. He said we'd like it. So we made reservations and went. It was wonderful. Sam, the owner is not a restaurant guy. He just knows what it takes to make great Italian food and how to take care of guests. Dinner was amazing from the wine Sam suggested after I told him I like hearty reds to the bread, carpaccio and pasta I had. My wife had the egg plant parmigiana special. She gave them the best compliment I have ever heard her say about an Italian restaurant in the Atlanta area - it tastes like gramma made it. We will be back. A lot. read more

We went out tonight looking for a unique restaurant and we sure found one! This is a small restaurant with an intimate setting. When we called for reservations we could only sit at the pizza bar. Great place to sit and talk with the people who make the wonderful food there. The pizza is hand made and all the dough and sauces are made on premise. After we were seated a half of a loaf of warm home made bread appeared with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Delicious. The wine selection is generous and so are the pours. Selecting the entre was probably the hardest part of the night. Everything looked good and unique. We settled on a pizza and feel we made a great choice. In no time it was out of the wood burning pizza oven and in front of us. It was one of the best we have had in a long time. After that we had the cannoli which was also unique. Instead of a flimsy shell a freshly baked pastry shell with a ricotta concoction that was heavenly. If you are looking for a small intimate place with great atmosphere and food that is memorable, look no further. read more

First time to ZuZZu and happy to have found such a gem right in the neighborhood; it took me way too long to get there! The unpretentious environment catches you off guard, but only until you receive service worthy of a 4 star restaurant! A Wine savvy team are able to discuss bouquet and the fresh creative menu inspires you to return to try all it offers. Its hard not to finish off the hot loaf of bread with an oil and balsamic vinegar dip before your meal comes! We opted for a Caesar salad and two woodfired pizzas. Fresh toppings like prosciutto, parmesan and arugula make a normally heavy entree seem almost light! The crust baked perfectly! The salad was almost unnecessary, but so good I'm glad I ordered it. The pizza is larger than any single serve portion Ive seen, so now I have lunch for the next day! I knew I didnt need dessert but having read about the cannolis I asked for one to go so I could sample it later. What a surprise when I opened the box at home to see the cannoli beautifully drizzled with chocolate, pistachios and cream. Had to take a bite, and found it perfectly delicious with its crisp pastry tasting like old Italy-Heavenly! I know I'll not only be back, but looking forward to creating a unique meal every time! Food was amazing, local meats and produce, excellent wine list. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked porkchop with some sweet and sour carmelized onion and bell pepper. The wine I selected was recommended as a compementary pairing and was perfect. Zenato's Ripassa was ripe and fruity with enough structure and substance to work really well with the flavor of the juicy porkchop. This is an authentic family owned and operated (they were there) was a knock out meal. Next time if I don't fill up on too much whole made bread, I will get desert. read more

EXCELLANT MEAL: Went with three other folks, two vgetarians, two meat eaters. All of us had memorable meals. Mussel appetizer excellant, mestball appetizer near perfect, mussels & pata as good as it gets, and excellant salad. Salvo, the owner, is the quintessential Italian. Came to the table and talked and enchanted all of us he's a Sicilian, who has been back and forth between here & there for years. His High School son was our waiter. I love this place! I'm Sicilian myself, born and raised, and I am usually very skeptical about Italian restaurants but this place is AMAZING. We tried both their carpaccios and they were amazing! My husband is not a seafood person, but he loved the octopus carpaccio! We both had pizza: Norma for me and Piccantina for him and they were delicious. Real Sicilian pizza!
