Zumiez has been in business since 1978. In the beginning the store was called Above the Belt. Zumiez now has over 600 locations in the US and another 100 locations in Canada, Europe and Australia. Zumiez sells women's and men's clothing, footwear, accessories and hardgoods. The merchandise centers around action sports including skateboarding, snowboarding and motocross. They carry brands such as Teddy Fresh, Vans and RipNDip. Zumiez target customers are teens although every time I've visited any Zumiez store, the customers appear to belong to every age group. I'm not a teen and I never feel out of place shopping here. The theme of Zumiez stores is "organized chaos". The merchandise is displayed in a somewhat haphazard manner. This is supposed to give the store a cool, comfortable vibe. It succeeds in doing this. This store is located at the Streets of Tanasbourne shopping area. The customer service at this location is outstanding! I am always greeted as soon as I enter the store and all the employees greet me and offer assistance while I browse the store. Dude seriously. I like gangsta rap as much as the next white guy with a bow tie, but the swear jar was full when we came through with a 7 year old. Ok it was that wack rapper who's kinda fake from Canada name escapes me oh wait it's drake Ok I'm not gonna keep that charade going. So after like the 3rd chorus with all kinds of swears, I asked if they could turn it down If looks could kill from this young lady, so what did she do? I went school clothes shopping with my granddaughter. She loves this store and found a couple of things she liked. The floor staff was very helpful and they even had chairs around the store for tired grandmas. Purchased $90 worth of clothes that the cashier literally balled up and threw in a bag. I stated that it was an interesting way of folding things and he asked if I was being scarastic. I said yes. Maybe train your staff to put a little more effort into folding the merchandise to make us feel good about our purchase. 5 stars for the floor staff, 1 star for the cashier. read more

Went in there today and had my 1 year old kicked out of the store by a male worker for not having a mask! A 1yr old!!! Also when my sister was asking for help the worker made no eye contact and proceeded to stay on his phone and skate around the store. He told another employee to help her.. was very disappointed. read more

Went in there to look for some work shoes and was immediately serviced and guided in the right direction. Got exactly what I needed and within reasonable time. Thank you to the cashier who helped me and made sure I found exactly what I was looking for and went out of his way to find something that suited my needs! read more

Worst zumiez in the area. I think one person in there knew a thing about skateboarding/snowboarding. The girls in there just sat around and didn't interact with any of the customers at all. Maybe get back to your roots and hire some real skateboarders instead of these mouth breathing bimbos. I don't want to be sold something; that's all it feels like anymore when I go into any zumiez. They're salesmen, not skateboarders. How can you accurately sell me something you know nothing about? Called the store looking for a certain pair of Vans. They didn't have them and the dude who answered the phone could have left it at that. However, he gave me multiple suggestions on where I could find them. He was incredibly helpful and personable. Chicks in here didn't say a word, totally ignored every customer. Went to ask where something was and the blond chick saw me coming and turned the other way. I never come to this area and I went into probably 10 stores, and the service was pretty good except for zumiez. read more

I went in to get risers for my 13 year old daughter. The staff was friendly and helpful. When we came in, we were immediately greeted with a friendly "hello" and promptly helped. Also, not only did they sell us the risers and hardware, but they also put them on for her at no extra charge. Everyone at the store was cheerful, kind, and helpful, especially to my daughter. read more

With a teen daughter who loves Vans, I come to this store a lot. I love the clothes, too, but find it's kind of pricey for the quality. Anyway...past experiences haven't been great but today was. I called ahead to make sure they had the color/size she wanted and the dude on the phone actually put the phone down and checked (or at least he acted like he did). He told me what they had and when I went in to the store to get them, he actually had them (this hasn't always been the case at this store, so I believe that yeah, he actually did put the phone down when I called to go see if they had what I asked for). He was super friendly and helpful when I came in and when I asked for the shoes he stopped what he was doing to go get them from the back, mentioned a sale they were having without really pressuring me and was just pleasant the whole way through. Past experiences have left me feeling meh; this one makes me feel like coming back again. read more

Unfortunately I had a bad experience at this location. When I entered the store there was gal who later appeared to be the manager in charge that was busy with someone and the other employee was also busy with a task. I was approached a minute or two later while I was looking at some sunglasses, which is what brought me into the store when the gentleman came to greet me, he couldn't even spit out his name before the gal came loudly exclaiming that he hadn't greeted the the other guest in the store, who happened to be another manager from a different store and made a bit of a spectacle of it all. I understand the importance of always keeping consistency however there is a time and place to go over actions with team members and that wasn't either. He corrected himself and then seemed apprehensive about approaching me after he was yelled at in front of me. Maybe the visit of the other manager was stressful, but she should have kept herself calm and collected. It will be a while before I visit this location again. read more
