Bellforge Arts Center puts on free arts and music events throughout the spring, summer and early fall seasons. They also do special outdoor movie screenings (I believe parts of Shutter Island were filmed here and also part of one of the showings). The locals walk around the premises with their dogs and it is a nice community. A fun outdoor space with a lot of interesting old buildings, history, and lore to explore- I love coming here. If you are lucky, you can see inside of the old chapel that I believe they are renovating for the arts- very cool! Definitely check out any of their upcoming outdoor events as they are free to the public and also give you a fun chance to explore, connect with the community, eat good food and partake in delicious beverages- last time I was there I had amazing pulled pork sandwiches, and ribs from "Ribpublic BBQ" as well as fantastic margaritas. What a cool place to be! I believe May 31st is the official "Bubble Gum Bob" day...just ask the locals...or read about if for yourself;)

I've heard they do outdoor movie screenings although i've never been to one of those. Hope they preserve this place for future generations to check out and see parts of history that are often hidden.

I rented out an office here at the Workbar location inside the Space Center and I can honestly say…read moreit was a very poor experience. This place is very raw and industrial and is more for artists and like metal shop or construction type companies, not professionals to use the space. It is basically an old warehouse turned into offices and small spaces for, what it looks like crafters and artists and not much else. The office I was in was freezing during the winter, the ceiling leaked all over my desk and the entire place is drafty and just not a nice place to work out of. As I mention in my profile, this is my opinion of course and not sure what I was expecting for the price I paid but this was not it.

NSC is a fantastic casual place to spend an evening. Informal seating, some tables and scattered chairs, seems like more chairs were brought out as needed but not sure there were seats for everyone though. Easy entry, no big city search and crowds, no parking worries or cost, beer, wine soda and snacks available. Meant to ask if ok to bring in a beer from Percival. Will definitely watch for future events to attend here. One suggestion would be to be a little more accurate on length and schedule of performance as Refugee did not actually play for 3 hours as described and we left wanting more.

I learned that this business had the distinction of being the oldest framing shop in the country dating back to the early 1900's and has remained a family run local business during this time. (Wow! That's impressive!) Initially based out of the Arcade in Downcity Providence, they moved to this location in the 1970's and have continued to expand over time. What you will find today are three massive floors filled with artwork, prints, drawings, ceramics, etc from great local artists in addition to their large framing area. They can handle all types of projects small or large and provide service and support both locally and out of state. They boast quality craftsmanship, lifetime guarantees on their work, and prices that are comparable to what you'd find from the big box chains that offer framing services (no coupon needed!) The difference is the years of knowledge and experience you get when choosing Providence Picture Frame as well as the good feeling you get knowing that you are helping a long time family run store stay in business for future generations. You'll also find friendly employees who care passionately about their business, their community, and helping the customer get exactly what they are looking for. Pro tips: Consider shopping in their gallery for unique and special birthday or holiday gifts. Not sure how to display that special photo, artwork, or sentimental item? Stop by to talk to them about their custom framing ideas and to preserve your one of a kind item for a lifetime.
