We fell in love with her, the house, everything including the murder-by-mail story behind the house from the 1800s. About 2 weeks before the party we called Kaitlyn and told her it was going to turn into our surprise wedding! She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need. The day of the party she was professional and hands-on, making sure everything got done on a quick timeline. She calmed nerves and had great suggestions on where things should go to make sure everything flowed just right. Our rental price included some tables and linens she had available, and some glassware too. It was so perfect from the start and we couldn't be happier!!

Beautiful historic building who's tour guides added in a true life murder mystery of the lady of the houses death. This really added to the event as it was so my scene and absolutely fun. They also had a whiskey tasting since she was poisoned with whiskey which is ironically amazing. I would def host an event here because unlike the Newport mansions I could touch things and see things in the midst of being historically preserved since they're still restoring the house. Open Doors RI has found a new regular customer :)

I arrived a little early and grabbed a seat at the bar, where I tried to order a glass of wine. But that wasn't happening here! They serve neither wine or beer, only their own whiskeys, vodkas, rums, gin, and an agave-based spirits. I tried one of their mixed drinks, which was excellent. Still, if you want a beer or a glass of wine with dinner, that's going to be an issue. Among other dishes, we ordered: Charcuterie Board: Artisan cheeses, cured meats, pickled vegetables, plum preserves, espelette mustard, and grilled focaccia. Caesar Salad: Romaine, anchovy dressing, sourdough croutons, and parmesan tuile. Seared Tuna: Sesame-crusted ahi tuna, cold glass noodle salad, bean sprouts, snow peas, braised spring onions, sesame yuzu ponzu, and black rice vinegar reduction. Steak Frites: Balsamic-marinated steak tips, tater tots, trumpet mushrooms, gochujang aioli, gorgonzola, pickled chiles, and avocado salsa verde. With the exception of the charcuterie board, the food was very good and nicely presented. My seared tuna was excellent. It was a busy Friday night, though, and service was spotty. One diner commented on the long wait for a drink refill. The setting added to the evening, and the restaurant's interior is also beautiful. Overall, a solid four-star dining experience.

It's a mid sized barn enough to accommodate up to 150 people. It also has a mezzanine where I placed one of my cameras. If you want some country look wedding, Holliston Historical can be a good choice. In the weddings I covered here, the ceremony was done outside but within the property itself. They putted folding chairs and an arch where the ceremony was held. As it was outside, I placed a wireless mic on the justice of the peace. That took care of the audio and we had a very clear audio. The reception was held in a big white tent beside the barn, As you can see in one of my pictures, they had the tables and chairs there for dining. The speeches were also held there. After dinner, the guests were ushered to the barn where the first dance was held, parents dances, cake cutting, and dancing for the celebration. I give Holliston Historical a 4 star. This is roland of roland video and photo. cheers.
