The indoor space allowed for 8-10 round tables and chairs to fit comfortably with display tables and space for catering. The outdoor space had a large event tent, beautiful patio and large, grassy yard just off of Choate Pond! Such a beautiful venue with incredible back drop. Very quiet location and an added plus is that it is very handicap friendly. We could not have been more surprised and pleased with our event and would highly recommend hosting an event here! We ate at the main dining room for breakfast buffet (it's the only option with no a la carte menu) and is $18 pp. we enjoyed it and one of the mornings they also offered omelette and eggs your way station. That was a bonus. We enjoyed their spread. For dinner, the wedding had a pre reception the night before and it was setup as a buffet with a cash bar. It was fine and just reminded me of your typical catered food. Not great but not bad. The Legends bar was a nice surprise seeing a full sports bar inside a hotel. Nice bartenders and friendly to boot. Also had live music too. They have nice size indoor pool and a tiny fitness center (please fix your Peloton bike!) too. After a long night out, that comfort matters. Now for the not-so-great. We were attending an event at the hotel, and unfortunately the bartender scheduled for the event was sick. That part isn't my complaint -- these things happen. However, guests were directed to the hotel bar instead. Fine... although walking through a Valentine's crowd in full vampire makeup was admittedly awkward (but that's on us and our life choices ). What was frustrating: the two water dispensers in the hallway of our event were completely empty. If there's no bartender for the event, ensuring guests have access to water seems like a very basic courtesy. Later that night, the hallway outside our room turned into what felt like a preteen playground around 11 p.m. Not ideal for sleep. I won't entirely blame the hotel for that -- but it certainly didn't help the overall experience. The real issue, and the reason for the low rating, was the construction. The website clearly states renovations begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 6 p.m. Unfortunately, we were jolted awake at 6:45 a.m. by loud banging, drilling, stomping, and worker chatter right above our room. When you're paying close to $200 per night and hoping to sleep in after a night of celebration, that matters. A lot. We left tired, cranky, and disappointed. We even skipped the $18-per-person breakfast (served in a freezing cold dining area) because we just wanted to get out of there. It's frustrating because this could have been a decent stay. But unexpected early construction noise and basic oversights like empty water stations made it one we won't be repeating.

I would like to thank Patrick, at the front desk, for this assistance last night. My daughter,…read moregranddaughter & I stayed in adjoining rooms when our 17 month old went into the room & closed the door locking her on the room. We thought it would be an easy fix to unlock the door with the key card and get her out but the key did not work. The master didn't work, changing the battery in the door, didn't work. We had to call the fire department to get her out. All through the chaos Patrick remained composed, all though nervous of the outcome, he remained steadfast in trying to resolve the matter. Management was a no show to give the young man assistance. I strongly suggest those old locks be replaced along with the antiquated furniture & beds that were not great to sleep on. We fell in love with her, the house, everything including the murder-by-mail story behind the house from the 1800s. About 2 weeks before the party we called Kaitlyn and told her it was going to turn into our surprise wedding! She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need. The day of the party she was professional and hands-on, making sure everything got done on a quick timeline. She calmed nerves and had great suggestions on where things should go to make sure everything flowed just right. Our rental price included some tables and linens she had available, and some glassware too. It was so perfect from the start and we couldn't be happier!!

Came for an Open Doors RI tour. Online tickets were sold out but they were able to accommodate a…read morebunch of us at the door. Beautiful historic building who's tour guides added in a true life murder mystery of the lady of the houses death. This really added to the event as it was so my scene and absolutely fun. They also had a whiskey tasting since she was poisoned with whiskey which is ironically amazing. I would def host an event here because unlike the Newport mansions I could touch things and see things in the midst of being historically preserved since they're still restoring the house. Open Doors RI has found a new regular customer :)
