My nails were pretty damaged and all uneven lengths, and Betina fixed them up so nicely. She started with filing my nails, cleaning up the textures and whatnot, and for the nails that needed some additional length, she put some polygel. Once that was dried, she continued to shape my nails. So much detail and precision! The major focus when it comes to Russian manicures and others is the cuticle aspect. A lot of time and precision is spent around this area of the nails- fine drilling tools, the cutting super precise, etc. Once nails were shaped and cuticles/nailbeds very cleaned, the hard gel process started. That was practically painted on the nails. Sounds so simple, but requires so much talent as it's not just a straight application, rather molding and painting on the same time to give it some apex/curvature. It looks so good! You do get to pick a hard gel base color. I chose the one called "latte" which is a shade of light pink, but a bit deeper. Once the hard gel is on and dried, you can finish then, or choose designs, gel polish, etc. I opted for a classic French tip design on the natural hard gel base. So elegant, so perfect. Betina also does chrome design/style and can advise which color hard gel base to start with to get the ideal chrome color/shine/finish. Was tempted to try that, but maybe another time. :) Definitely one of the longest manicures I've had, but it's sooooo good!! The hard gel is supposed to last a long time, so we shall see. Will def be back to get a fill or another full manicure in a month or 2, assuming these nails last me. Here's to stronger/steadier natural nails! Thanks so much, Betina. I was hesitant to come here because my friend told me not to because they drilled too deep into her…read morenail it literally bled and took more than a month to heal. She was traumatized and literally swore off manicures I haven't seen her gotten one again since. Regardless I thought to give it a chance thinking maybe it was an accident... I really really really wish I hadn't. I came on a Monday towards the end of the day. They were pretty slow compared to other salons so I was seen right away. Everything seemed fine at first until she took a look at my month old acrylic set and tried to push it off hard with her fingers which I found odd. It hurt so much I literally jolted on my seat. She immediately apologized and I moved past it but that should have been a warning sign. She then used a drill to remove the old set. She did a sloppy prep job and was very rough and painful. Every time I reacted she would apologize but then continue being rough anyway. She was rough in every step I wanted to cry, but held back. She nicked me several times too around the sides of the nails and the cuticle area that it bled. It's been several hours after the service and my nails still feel sensitive and sore. Either she drilled too deep that it thinned out my natural nail or the speed was too fast it burned my nail beds, I'm not sure, but I am in pain. I also want to point out that they were very impatient when I was trying to decide what color I wanted. I honestly don't think I took too long. It's easy to have a nail inspo on my phone but sometimes seeing their similar samples against my skin helps a lot, it's a $70 service that will last 3 weeks, i wanted to make sure i loved the color.. my nail tech complained and was giving me a lot of attitude and even started complaining to the other staff, they all looked at me and I felt so pressured and embarrassed.. She even made me feel bad at the end of the service saying every other customer left and I'm the last one even though we finished just in time when they closed at 7... She didn't bother to close me out, another person helped me. I showed her the nicks and cuts that the nail tech did and she dead-ass gave me an "idgaf" face and asked me to pay.. I still tipped $15 in cash regardless of everything...still 20%.. I didn't want to.. I left feeling so disappointed and in pain.. I have never before experienced such bad service from nail salons even from other countries.. I have never been nicked before or over-filed.... my nails look nice, but it's definitely not worth the experience.. not worth the pain I'm still feeling right now. I am absolutely never coming back here. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I should have listened to my friend. I am working on speaking up for myself so I am writing this review, I am not surprised to see a lot of bad reviews here as well from other clients.. There are 10+ other nail salons in downtown Walnut Creek alone and though I haven't been to them all, a lot of them are definitely significantly more professional, clean, respectful, careful and considerate.

I'm sure there are other nail techs there who are better but my experience was so poor I'll probably never be back. First off I should've known something was off when I said I wanted acrylic and she told me "I'll do gel x" .. didn't ask told me I was getting gel x and tried to make it seem like it was better for me when in reality it was faster and easier for her. I showered her a picture of a nail with a flower and I said if you can't do it it's ok I'll pick another style I said this many times and she told me she could do it. When she started my filing my nail it hurt SO bad she was filing into my cuticle so much two fingers started to bleed to which he said I had thin skin.. um no. I said ouch many times she never stopped. My hands hurt for the next three days feeling like my skin was breaking. Anyway I told her I want the base of the French to be pink she picked this regular color never checked in with me to see if I liked the shape the color or anything. Then when it came time to the flower she said we have flower stickers... I said if u can't do the 3d it's ok I'll pick a different style. She refused and gave me horrible hack job that looks like it's been done by a toddler. I told her many times it's my baby shower I'm going to Hawaii and I'm getting proposed to these nails have to be perfect and she gave me this ... nothing kkke the photo I had shown. When she was done I was so upset I almost cried walking out ... I called them and told them how upset I was and asked if I could come back another day because I was so tired after getting off work etc I'm pregnant. He said to come back now.. when I went back she immediately rushed into helping me and I told her I want someone else and she told me everyone else busy I said I can wait or come back another day she said no. so I did and I asked her to take it off and start again she just filed the one nail with the flower and painted over everything so now I have like 5 layers of paint and too coat.. let's just say the experience was not relaxing and not what I had planned for being my proposal / engagement nails.
