Special sourced! Gotta try the Mexico bluefin Toro and Akami! Soft and melts in your mouth feel. Yummy!
Hiro Y.

Amazing fresh seafood, a wonderful atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality! You absolutely HAVE to try their salmon, bluefin tuna, and uni shooter! They also offer a great selection of cooked dishes, so there's something for everyone. This place is truly a hidden gem in the area and definitely a go-to spot! Owner Dustin, his sister Destiny, and the entire staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and make you feel right at home. Their menu offers a lovely combination of modern creativity and authentic flavors. If you're looking for delicious food, fresh ingredients, and genuine hospitality, this place is a MUST-TRY! Highly recommend!

Chicken Karaage (Far Left) & 49Ers & World Series

I stopped by to try this new shop after hearing about it! We ordered 6 items: the Seared Salmonster, regular Salmonster, Lion King, World Series, 49ers Roll, and Chicken Karaage. There's an online menu you can scan, which was pretty convenient! I'm not sure if they offer a physical menu, but the online one worked just fine and was efficient. I really wanted to try the Salmon Crunch, but unfortunately, it was sold out when we visited. My favorites were definitely both Salmonster rolls! The salmon was so soft, buttery, and not fishy at all. The Lion King was also really good! My partner thought it was a little too saucy, but I personally enjoyed it. The World Series and 49ers Roll were okay to me. The salmon tasted fresh, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the sriracha sauce on top of the 49ers Roll and both those rolls just didn't quite stand out to me. The shop itself was another highlight! I loved the interior design. It felt roomy, cute, and cozy. Overall, we had a decent experience and would come back to try the hand rolls, especially the scallop one. Hopefully, I can finally get my hands on the Salmon Crunch, too.

Discovered Zuki Sushi on yelp and they currently have a special discount for their soft opening! This place is brand new, with ample seating plus bar seating. My friend and I came here to catch up and decided to order the salmonster special (seared version) and the sushi boat! The sushi boat was huge and you could pick 2 special rolls. It included sashimi and nigiri. All the pieces were huge/have huge cuts! Amazing value. Everything was delicious and our servers were amazing. I will be coming back for the salmonsters in the future! I think this is the only place in San Jose that offers this which is nice!

Hamachi Nigiri, Tuna, Uni and Fried Shrimp Heads

Zuko is a newly opened gem in the Evergreen area! Awesome food, clean and light interior, and great service Parking was easy in a big strip mall. Seared Salmonster 9/10: These giant appetizers are fatty, sauced up, and full of flavor. It's like a huge piece of salmon over rice with a pleasant umami flavor. Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice 9/10: I've seen so many iterations of crispy rice and raw fish go wrong. This was the epitome of it done right; the rice was actually crispy, the temperature was perfect and the flavor hit nicely. Uni Shooter 8.8/10: I would totally rate this higher as it's a perfect bite. Just wish it came with a tiny bit more uni. The Ikura, Uni, and the flavor base on the broth/sauce match refreshingly. It's high quality Uni as well. Still really happy with it as a small app. The hamachi, tuna, and shrimp nigiri with fried shrimp heads. 9/10 really good slices and shrimp heads were perfectly fried too. Poke Nachos 6.5/10: The only miss for me; ok but the tortilla chips would be perfect if fried at a slightly lower temp as they came out a bit dark. Sauce was too sweet but still solid overall. Izakaya Cabbage 8.5/10: Simple but yummy dish. The bits of seaweed elevate this dish and it really punches above its weight. Thank you to Chef Dustin for an amazing experience!

First time trying Zuko Sushi Bar. This is a decent Japanese flavor restaurant. It's not authentic, but the food is neighborhood friendly and perfectly fine for a casual meal! The miso soup was overly salty, and the seaweed wasn't soft, it seemed like they just dropped it in rather than properly preparing it. In the sushi bento, the shrimp tempura tasted premade (like from Costco). The fish was fairly fresh and the sushi rolls were decent; the rainbow roll was good. The kama was grilled well but again too salty. One odd thing is that the menu doesn't have udon, which is pretty basic for a Japanese restaurant. Agin, overall it's a decent Japanese flavor spot. The interior was clean and the staff were friendly. It's not really special, but it's still nice to have a Japanese option in the area.

Great new addition to evergreen and they have 15% off until 11/30/26 for their soft opening. The fish was fresh. Staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and modern. Everything we had was pretty tasty. We especially liked their poke nachos. The only thing I didn't care for was the spicy salmon in the seared Salmonster. Will be back again!

Zuko Sushi just had their soft opening on South White Road. This location used to be another sushi restaurant, so we decided to give the new place a try. It's a small and cozy restaurant and everything looks nice and clean. Overall, the food is decent, but at around $17-$19 per roll, my expectations are going to be higher. They also don't really have a kids menu, so it's probably not the most kid-friendly sushi spot if you have younger kids. Here is my take. Food (3.5 stars) * Chicken karaage was probably the winner for us. You get a surprisingly generous amount for an appetizer. Nice large pieces of chicken with a good amount of breading and a dipping sauce on the side. We ordered some rice and basically turned this into another entree. I even ate the cabbage underneath! (4 stars) * World Series roll was good. I believe this had salmon and tobiko on top. Nothing wrong with it and we enjoyed it, but at almost $19, I was expecting something to stand out a little more. It's standard to good sushi at a premium price. (3.5-4 stars) * Orange Blossom came with 8 pieces arranged like a flower. At first I thought the portion looked really small, but I think the presentation makes it look smaller than it actually is. Again, it's good, but at $17.60, it's a little pricey for what you're getting. (3.5 stars) ~ Chirashi bowl looks like a pretty good portion when it first arrives...until you stick your chopsticks in and hit the bottom of the bowl! It's quite shallow. The fish is also cut into very small, almost pea-sized pieces instead of the larger sashimi pieces I'm used to in chirashi. The sushi rice tasted a little heavy on the vinegar and had an interesting herby flavor. Not necessarily bad, just different and not really what I expect from chirashi. A little shallow in both bowl depth and flavor depth for me. (3 stars) - Tako Wasa is apparently octopus marinated with wasabi, so maybe this is exactly how it's supposed to taste and it's simply not my thing. You get tiny pieces of octopus in a salty, sour, wasabi-flavored mixture. I also picked up a slightly fishy taste. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since this may be exactly what Tako Wasa fans are looking for, but I wouldn't order it again. (2 stars) Service/Ambiance (3.5 stars) * It's a small, cozy restaurant with maybe 8-9 tables plus a sushi bar. Everything looks new and clean. * Food came out quickly enough, especially considering they're still in their soft opening. ~ You scan a QR code and order yourself, so there isn't much interaction with the staff. Our server eventually came by to check on us, and I asked for more water, but I was almost finished eating by then. I could've used that refill a little earlier. ~ They are currently offering 10% off during their soft opening. They were also offering 15% for writing a review. I decided I'd rather write mine later, on my own time. Probably less awkward that way when it's a 3-star review! Overall, I think Zuko Sushi is decent, but the pricing is what holds it back for me. When sushi rolls are pushing $18-$19 each, I expect either larger portions or something memorable enough to justify the price. The food wasn't bad at all, and the chicken karaage was actually quite good, but most of what we tried landed somewhere between standard and good. They're brand new and still in soft opening, so hopefully they'll continue working out the details. For now, 3 stars overall.

Seared Salmon Belly

New sushi spot! We stumbled upon Zuko Sushi while looking for a dinner place and wanted to check it out. It's located in a large plaza with lots of parking and other shops/restaurants. There was a waitlist when we got there around 8pm, but the actual wait wasn't crazy (~15 min). The restaurant itself is small with a few tables and bar seating. The service was a bit slow, which I understand due to it being their soft opening. I wouldn't recommend coming later in the evening since they tend to sell out of their popular items pretty quickly. Unfortunately, while I was picking out our food through their online QR ordering system, almost every item I selected would go out of stock, which was pretty frustrating. We couldn't order any of their rolls or most of their popular salmon dishes. The items we were able to get were still tasty, though! Honorable mentions: - seared salmon belly: slightly seared. Smokey taste paired well with the fattiness - poke nachos - sashimi premium They're currently doing promotions for their soft opening - 10% off your entire bill. I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes!

Just had the privilege of dining here and it was such a great experience. First, the restaurant has such cute, classy vibes- definitely perfect for a date night. We came for the soft opening and our server was super informative, timely, and welcoming. They recommended the crispy rice and kama which we loved. I love spicy food and they were super accommodating and even gave me some chilis on the side to kick it up a notch. Everything we've tried on the menu has been great and I'm looking forward to trying more!

Zuko took over a different sushi restaurant. I had never been to the previous one before, but this was a pleasant surprise to see how modern and beautiful the space was. The food was just as wonderful as the spot. Everything tasted super fresh and loved the attention to detail and the homemade sauces. Our favorites of the night included the karaage, sushi rolls, sashimi, poke, and the crispy rice. The main thing about what we had here tasted top notch and of the highest quality one can find which is nice for the area. Service was also phenomenal. We went during soft opening and I'm sure there are kinks that need to be ironed out but we didn't take notice of it at all since food, company, and service were wonderful. Can't wait to return!

Cute quiet corner seating

Inviting atmosphere, great service, fresh sushi and lots of delicious flavors! We had a table for 12 so we got to try a little bit of everything. My favorites were the uni shooters and chawanmushi. Everything was so fresh and the flavors were really well balanced. I especially loved the loaded fresh real crab in the chawanmushi! The spicy salmon crispy rice is also a must try. I loved the combination of the flavors and textures. My kids devoured the World Series roll so fast that I didn't even get to try one or take a picture They also really enjoyed the tonkatsu set. The tonkatsu was huge and perfectly crispy. I also liked that the chef makes his own tempura sauce. It was lighter and more refreshing than the typical sauce. We also tried the 12 PC sashimi, tuna tartar with shrimp chips, crispy riblets, chicken karaage, grilled calamari, poke nachos, izakaya cabbage salad and takowasa. Everything was really good! I honestly didn't think I'd like the takowasa but ended up wanting more. Definitely recommend! We're already planning to come back for hand rolls, nigiri and more of our favorites. They also have a good sake selection!

This place is such a great addition to the area. The food quality, service, and dishes are all amazing! They are still in their soft opening phase, so your orders are automatically 10% off. Their tempura and fried items are also worth trying. It's light, crispy, and airy, which is hard to perfect. They have Takowasabi, which most places do not normally serve. It has great flavor and balance of wasabi. Definitely have to try it if you are a squid and wasabi lover like me. Service is very good. Ashley and Andy were super friendly and attentive!

Chuwan mushi
Sally P.

All the sushi was excellent. Chuwan mushi was a bit salty. But the service made up for it. A must try if you live in the area.

Great service, the waiters were attentive. Great atmosphere. Personal favorite fish was the grilled squid.

The tempura was ok to me, but hubby enjoyed the crunchy shrimps quite well. The sunshine roll was my least favorite primarily because it's too sweet perhaps just a matter of personal preference. We also received two pieces of complimentary grilled salmon belly, they were fresh, moist, with crispy skin; simply delicious. Very glad that we rediscovered Suro, will be back again soon.

The service was really good though. Food came out fast both times after ordering. The gentleman that was helping our table was very kind and attentive. He kept coming by to check on how everything was going. The food itself was pretty good, but there is a lack of consistency from last year compared to this year. I did not want to make a fuss about it at the restaurant, but I was quite disappointed with the quality of the fish. It wasn't as fresh this time. The restaurant has a cozy vibe. There's 30 minute parking available at the front of the restaurant. It is all street parking. The first time I was here we ordered: -Dragon Roll -Beef Roll -Gyoza -Chicken Karaage -Fried Calamari -Salmon Maki -Salmon Avocado -Double Double Salmon -49ers Roll Second Time Order: -Alaska Roll -Salmon Maki -Rock n Roll -Chicken Karaage appetizer -Fried Calamari appetizer -Golden California Roll -Dragon Roll -Salmon Avocado The Alaska roll according to the menu has spicy cooked salmon, cucumber, topped with unagi sauce and tobiko. The unagi sauce seemed to be more at the bottom than drizzled at top, but the waitress was kind enough to ask me if I wanted some of the unagi sauce on the side, which was very nice. It made a big difference in terms of flavor. Eating the Alaska roll without the extra unagi sauce, I was only able to taste the Sriracha. By the way, it did not mention on the menu that the Alaska roll was going to have both spicy mayo and Sriracha on it. I'm not a fan of Sriracha. The spicy mayo I can do, but the Sriracha ruined it for me. The dragon roll was ordered last year and this year. Please see the photos for how inconsistent the roll is. There were more ingredients the first time we ordered this roll. There was more avocado last year. The gyozas were pretty good. They came out hot and crispy, but not dry. They had a good amount of flavor. The beef roll had asparagus and beef in it. It's a pretty good combination. The chicken Karaage was good both times, but I did notice it was juicier when we ordered it last year. The salmon maki was much better last year than when I ordered it this year. I am not sure if a different person was making the rolls, but the rolls didn't fall apart last time like it did today. Most importantly though, the salmon was fresher the first time I had it. They definitely changed something other than the appearance. It was also pretty upsetting that the pieces of salmon maki were uneven. Only 2 of the pieces were tall, whereas last year, I was given all 6 pieces that had the same height. It makes it look like the sushi I got today was less. I had all the photos of the sushi from last year on my old phone, so I wasn't able to show the waiter or the owner the comparison. The rock n roll is a good portion, but there was barely any bbq eel in it. It was literally just a little tiny piece in the corner of the sushi. I do appreciate that the avocado is fresh and creamy in the rolls that we ordered. 49ers roll - is one of my go to rolls for something light and refreshing. The lemon slices add a really nice touch. I love that the lemon is thinly sliced and the rind was actually included. It adds a bit of tartness to the flavor, which I find satisfying. The salmon was very fresh. I only ordered it last year and not this time since my husband and I were at a prior event that had food, but we were still craving sushi lol. The fried calamari was good, but this time that we got it, the portion was significantly smaller. I'm not sure why. It has good texture and crispiness. There was also a piece of calamari that ended up in our chicken Karaage, which we didn't know what it was at first, but later found out it was calamari lol. No complaints about the Double Salmon Roll. If you love raw salmon, more raw salmon, avocado and tobiko, that one is a good option. The Golden California roll was okay. We felt like it had too much batter though. Salmon Avocado roll was a lot better the first time we were here as well. I don't know if their raw fish supplier changed or something, but the salmon definitely didn't taste the same. I know it's been a year and some may think how do I remember? I'm a sushi fanatic/connoisseur. When I eat sushi and it's good, I have a little happy dance that I do. First time I was here I did the happy dance and that's why I wanted to come back here again. The prices are very affordable here and the service is great. However, I was pretty disappointed today (8/8/2026) with the presentation of the rolls and the freshness of the salmon or lack of freshness I should say. I would love to come back again, but I just don't want to be disappointed. I'm really hoping to have a better food experience here in the future.
