Coworker told me that this was some good pizza so it was on home so we came and I gave it a try. NY style is what they serve and it's a small place with limited seating available. We ordered and it came out in about 10 minutes so it did not take long. Slices were decent and looked good we got half cheese and half pepperoni and jalapeño. The pizza is very good, the cheese is good and the marinara sauce was not heavy and you could taste it. Was it hood pizza? Yes it was, it did not stand out or anything but very hood pizza. Decided to try the lasagne along with some pizza to go. Very disappointed...there was NO MEAT in it! I'm not sure if they got my lasagne with someone's manicotti or what. I love that there are so many random pizza/pasta places around DFW! I'm on a mission to find try them all! "Constant companion" and I were over in Rowlett for the first time when we decided to grab some late lunch. I really liked the relaxed feel of this place. It has four booths and a walk up counter. Also, there's a TV in the corner that was playing a rip-off version of Family Feud while we were there. I told CC that he was in charge of ordering for the both of us. He ordered a slice of the everything pizza (to split), spaghetti with mushrooms (for me), and manicotti (for him). Our entrees also came with garlic knots. The pizza was pretty good. They used fresh toppings, which was nice. However, it was a little odd that they just added more mozzarella on top of everything. It had a nice crunch to the crust while still being soft enough to eat though. That's a difficult balance to achieve. The garlic knots were really good! When they brought us our pasta, they asked if we wanted more. I showed so much restraint by saying no! My pasta came on this flowery old lady plate. I loved it! It also came with a lot of mushrooms! They actually mean mushroom spaghetti when they say it! The sauce was okay too. It had some seasoning in it (but was mostly garlic). CC's pasta was not manicotti. It was basically deconstructed lasagna. It actually looked pretty good because all you could see was cheese from the top. But, the inside was chaotic! His sauce was even different from mine. It was super basic. I wonder if no one ever orders the manicotti, so they don't know how to make it? While I had a pretty good experience, CC's was very different. I've read a few reviews about how they need to get with the times. Guess what? They are with the times and they don't want to be nickeled and dime'd to death! We've been coming here for 15 plus years. The pizza is the best in town, HANDS DOWN! Everything about the pizza is amazing from the first bite to the last. They have XL pizzas too that are so big! Fresh veggies, fresh meats... goodness crust. Pasta is yummy! We've had a few of them. Chicken w sherry wine, mushrooms, artichokes and garlic was the hit tonight along w the massive lasagna. Wow is all I can say, the red sauce w the lasagna is so ready, not too rich but rich enough... robust flavor is what I would say. AND let's not forget to mention enough for two people... easily! Ok... so here is the one thing that my hubby and I don't typically do - eat tons of bread. When we go here the garlic rolls are so darn tasty and you have to get a cup of Alfredo - they have roasted garlic and parm at the table so we will doll it up! It doesn't need it however we enjoy it that way. The knots come w red sauce which is great too, you don't need Alfredo - its just our thing! Hole in the wall Italian restaurants are normally DELICIOUS with not so satisfactory customer service....but at ZUKO not only is it literally the BEST Italian I've had in over a DECADE but their service is AWESOME. The African American guy with the glasses behind the counter has been SUPER nice and inviting on both of the 2 occasions i have gone here. He even brought my food out to my car on one occasion. That above and beyond service is so rare in 2021! My wife and kids LOOOOOVVVVVVEEE the spaghetti with meat sauce. Great large size portions and PLENTY of sauce! I have ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo both times and its SOOOOO GOOOOD! You can actually taste the parmesan cheese melted into every bite. We found a gem! Loved by locals. We moved to Rowlett 6 years ago, and it was recommended by a Rowlett resident who has lived here for 20 years! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Although I have lived in Rowlett since 2013, I have never tried Zuko Pizza. I have seen it each time I pick up a rental car, but I have never had time to try it out. During a recent visit with my DAV representative, he had some pies on the tables for quests. Since I was a quest, I grabbed a slice, and then another, and another. Hands down, one of the best pizzas I have tasted in decades. I ordered a large supreme today and had to push it away before I got carried away.
