Zorina is the classiest nail salon that I've visited in San Francisco. It's clean, quiet (no screaming or loud talking at all), beautifully aesthetic & everyone is polite. I learned about Russian manicures & pedicures & how the nail service is meticulous, especially with cuticle care. I heard about Zorina from a friend & made an appointment online for a gel pedicure with a master level nail tech. Milana, my nail tech, showed me the fresh nail kit before she began. She spent a lot of time removing rough skin & dry cuticles. She was very gentle too. My feet were so soft afterwards! I chose a pale pink color to start but changed to a slightly more pink gel polish. The top coat was either clear, silver sparkle or gold sparkle & we agreed that silver sparkle would be subtle & pretty. They offer complementary beverages including hot tea, coffee, water or champagne where the QR code is next to the service chair. I just had water & was given the cutest little wooden bowl of snacks (mixed nuts, died fruit & a bit of chocolate). The quality of service is worth the price point to me & I'm returning next week for a gel manicure. read more

I have mixed reviews of Zorina. I visited their Pacific Avenue studio for the first time in February. The manicure and pedicure were great and the polish lasted six weeks. I visited their Union Street location a couple months ago. Nail polish was peeling within two weeks. I have weak toenails and asked for a polish that would help strengthen them. The technician gave me a polish she said would do this. This also peeled within two weeks and ended up making the nail bed on my big toe even more damaged. read more

Terrible experience, if I can get 0 stars I will. I booked for a master appointment but they assigned me with a junior master claiming she was a master when she is still a junior master. She had so much flaws and it felt like a scam. I sat there for 2 hours for 1 French nail design, she also cut my cuticle too deep on 3 fingers that it kept bleeding. My nails are unevenly filed, completely screwed up my thumb. My left nails are way longer than my right. I had to sit another 15 minutes for her to fix her flaws just to not be fixed as well read more

Honestly - I have given Zorina a lot of chances and I think this past time will be my last time. My pedicure was such a sub-par experience which is unacceptable when you walk out paying $160. The gal who did my latest pedi cut my cuticle so far down and low, I was bleeding and in pain... and they don't even say anything? Check to see if you're ok? Apologize? After this, while she was drilling my calluses, she kept grabbing me by the toe that she cut which was extremely painful. And I'm sorry, but if I am paying for a "master" artist, you should not be cutting me, then not acknowledging it. The paint job is also bad. I have divets/little holes on a bunch of my toes, and some are streaky. For the insanely steep prices they charge, the service and quality doesn't match up. read more

I have been a loyal customer for a year and have generally enjoyed my experience here. Unfortunately it seems that the quality is going downhill. Extremely disappointing experience yesterday that left me leaving the salon crying. Additionally, my nails are ruined and probably won't be back to normal for another 6 months now. I came in for a gel manicure, and after removing my old gel, the technician said one nail was lifted and refused to apply gel. My nail looked exactly the same that it always has... I didn't see any lift. I understand being cautious about nail health, but what happened next was completely unacceptable. Without asking me, the technician cut all of my nails down to almost nothing, even though only one nail was affected. I was not consulted about the length, given any options, or asked for permission before she removed all of the growth I had worked to maintain. To make matters worse, the regular polish they applied looked terrible and started coming off within five minutes of leaving the salon. So I paid to have all of my nails cut off without my consent and received a sloppy manicure that did not even survive the trip home. They had the audacity to charge me $100 and did not even offer to give me refund for such poor quality work. The lack of communication, care, and basic quality control was shocking. I would not return and would not recommend this salon. I could have gotten a better manicure for $40 at another salon. read more

The best manicure I've ever had! The masters at Zorina Nail Studio really are just this--masters. I've gone at least 5 times now, and I've tried out various nail techs. Each time, my nails last between 4 and 7 weeks and are extremely strong and sturdy because of the hard gel. Every time I go in, Leyla and the nail techs at Zorina are kind, welcoming, hospitable, patient, and will always give me their advice on what will look best if I ask for it. They are perfectionists on nail shaping and take their work so seriously. I've always done my nails myself because I'm quite picky, but Zorina has exceeded my expectations each and every time I get a manicure. The salon is super clean, the tools are sterilized, and there is always a girly movie/show playing on TV. There is a menu available with different drinks and snacks, and I'm always offered a water when I sit down. Zorina employees go above and beyond to make me feel pampered! My first experience at the this place was excellent. The nail artist I previously had was kind, attentive, and highly professional. She asked thoughtful questions, ensured I was comfortable throughout the appointment, and provided exceptional service. That positive experience was the reason I chose to return. I even recommended your place to others because I truly believed she was one of the best nail artists I had. Unfortunately, my recent visit was entirely different and deeply disappointing. During the appointment, the nail technician cut my cuticle far too deeply, which resulted in pain and irritation afterward (photo attached). What concerned me even more was the lack of care and professionalism throughout the service. She did not apologize, check on my well-being, or communicate with me during the appointment. I also observed that other customers were offered beverages, while I was not offered anything. I arrived early after work and drove 20 minutes to your salon because I trusted the quality of service based on my previous experience. Instead, I was left waiting and felt unwelcome. I understand that mistakes can occur; however, customer service and professionalism are just as important as the quality of the nail service itself. I think this salon is generally good overall but my personal experience was very poor- my coworker referred me, who actually recently got the Cartier ring give away! They fit me in right away but told me I couldn't get nail art- completely fine! My appointment was changed due to a sick call and moved an hr up and then I did have the opportunity to get nail art. They were so so kind when I showed up but once the appointment started they told me I need to see a "doctor" for my nails- I kept asking why, with no real answer, just I need to see a doctor for my nails. They said they couldn't do my nails without me consenting even though "something was wrong w the nails".. and kept pushing up the under part of my nail to show they were thin but didn't say that.. and seemed annoyed, and kept reiterating by showing me my nail was fragile? Pushing under my nails. I can appreciate that after months of my nails being done...but they kept telling me to see a "doctor". They told me they could file and put a clear coat on, but frustrating that I was flexible w the time w/o actually getting them done. I did leave because the nail personnel kept getting up during my session (x2) so I left 20 mins in, mid session because I could do somewhat of the services available to me at home. I do not like leaving mid session like that, but I felt like I was not appreciated once my Russian manicure could not be done. I would have liked to the opportunity to understand completely why my nails could not be done other than them maybe being too thin. Unfortunately with the lack of communication, I will not be back. I believe this is a clean salon. However, I never leave reviews, and this has really bothered me days later. I acknowledge leaving mid session, but asked if I needed to pay to the front desk before exiting, with a reply "no, and sorry for upsetting you".... I've been coming here for about 6 months and it started out really great, but I've had issues with my last two manicures. When I first came here, the manicures were lasting 4-5 weeks and were holding up well with no chips or breaks in my nails. Last week I spent $200+ doing French tips with a top master and the white was chipping the next day. I reached out and they were kind enough to bring me in to "fix it" which just consisted of filing my nails and adding a clear coat. Less than a week later, I have more chips and the color is lifting around my cuticle. I don't think I can continue to justify the price/ quality moving forward. I also loved the floral installation they had in the studio today -- I got to pick my own flowers and create my own bouquet (as pictured), which made the experience feel so personal and special. I didn't say anything when my "top master" tech was 20 mins late for my appt, rushed the whole time looking at her watch every 5 mins, nearly rubbed my fingertips off while aggressively filing my natural nails, nipped one of my cuticles, didn't apologize when I flinched and said ouch, refused to test 2 colors (to save herself the 10 seconds to wipe one off??) until I pleaded for help from the receptionist, or got handed off to a "lesser" tech for my pedicure bc she had to hop to her next appt on-time. I continued to say nothing when the second tech spent all of 35 mins on my feet (on-line it says 1.5 hours). There was however double drying time bc she smudged one of my toenails guiding my foot into my slipper after she assured me repeatedly that they were dry. She didn't redo the nail btw, she fixed it by globbing more polish on the smudged part. I didn't complain through any of this and still tipped 20% and smiled and said thank you because I'm not a jerk and I know service work is hard. But I have to say something now, because 5 hours and $273 later, my big toe polish got messed up just wearing socks around the house. Was the polish old? Did the tech lay it on too thick? I texted the salon the next morning and they asked me to return for a fix, a 6-6:30pm appointment. I brought my own NEW polish as I did not want to chance a repeat experience with the old. When I explained this, the receptionist and the tech had a conversation (no English) and they said they did not have time to repaint all 10 of my toes, just 2, bc they close at 7pm. I was confused, it was 6pm. Why would it take an hour to apply regular polish?? Did they really expect me to leave with mismatched toes?? They clearly just didn't want to take the extra couple minutes to make it right. The point I want to make about this place is that there is something wrong with the people that work here. They are not good people and they don't care about customers. Maybe they do perfectly fine work when they are not running late and making mistakes, but the customer service is horrendous. They gave no thought to the time I had to spend going back there, then tried to do the absolute minimum rather than just providing good service. They gave in btw after much complaint and it took the tech all of 7 mins (I timed it) to repaint all 10 of my toes. It was so simple and easy to make it right, it's sad they couldn't see this for themselves, I will never be back. read more

I tried Zorina out after hearing about the amazing retention. I got a manicure with the junior master. The manicure looked great for the first few days, but after only 5 days the tips started chipping. At 10 days the sides started lifting. While the service was great and the salon was very clean, I am not happy with a luxury price tax and sub tier retention. Please note- my sister went at the same time and had the top master do her manicure, her nails are still looking perfect almost 3 weeks later. My results may be a one off, but when you are paying a hefty amount for a service, you don't want to take the chance of having "one off" results. read more
