I wiped blood off my thumb this morning.

They get a star for being nice and they get a star for taking their time and not rushing my gel mani pedi. However, they clipped and filed my skin and three days later, my thumb is still sore and bleeding. I usually go to places on Union, but read reviews on here and wanted to give it a try. Yikes. Never again. My fingers hurt!

This place is one of the nicest in the Marina and I've been to about 5. The staff is skilled, very friendly, and I never feel rushed. The massage chairs are nice and everything seems very clean. There's an ATM inside but they take cash and card. I like how it's tucked away too so people aren't gawking through the window. Would recommend!

OK wow I do not like getting nails done, but just had DIP for the first time and needed to get it off and redone. Let me just say, everyone in this salon knows what they are doing. It is HARD to find a salon in SF that knows how to do DIP. Lily did a fantastic pedi and Angela did an incredible dip manicure. She meticulously shaped the nails and checked they were even. She took so much pride in her work and made it perfect. Never did I think I would write a review on a nail salon, but here I am. It is expensive but it's worth it.

Came here after my roommate recommended it! Overall, pretty happy with how they turned out, only thing is my nails are SUPER sore which is not a good sign...means they filed the shit out of them and are now prob thin and brittle underneath Kinda pricy, but she did shape them very nicely and we'll wait to see how they hold up!

LOVE Nail Today!!! Best DIP in the city! Nail Today by far the #1 for satisfaction, attentive service, cleanliness, quality job every time! My nails stay healthy and the DIP last the longest! Very personable service, and the staff are super pro! I adore my nail technician Angel, and the owner Angela too. I have been getting my nails done here over the last 5 years, and each staff member has done an outstanding job. I started off getting gel mani pedi, but noticed each client getting dip. I discovered that Nail Today was one of the first nail salons in the Marina to bring dipping powder to the area. I have never gone back to gel since! Lovely, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I am always so happy to the quality of each visit, & look forward to coming back. (My very shy fiancé also feels comfortable and enjoys his pedicures!) Huge selection of DIP and gel colors. Cozy massage chairs, high quality service, attention to detail, clean and sanitized tools, & practice Covid protocol by wearing gloves and masks. They're the best Nail Salon in the Marina!

Best dipping powder/SNS in the city. They do a great job on my gel nails too! High quality products and experienced nail techs. My nails always last 3+ weeks!

This is my 2nd time going here. Rachel did my nails at the first one and I am going back here with her. She is very nice and get my nails done perfectly. This is one of the best nail salons I have been to that charges reasonably. Very clean, efficient, friendly, and always delivers what you requested for. Now I see all the staffs are super good service. Will be back again for sure.

Angela popped off with this GEL-Xtension set! It was perfect for vacation highly recommend her because she's had 25+ years of doing nails

One week out and they hold up. It's one of the few places in SF that knows how to do dip properly. Nails by Angel.

The first time we went here they were shaped really well by Angela, the second time she was in a rush and the shape was a little bubbly, so we made an appointment for earliest available -10:30am per their availability. There were 2 of us, both getting a dip manicure with Angela as well as a pedicure. She did not show up until 11, so they started on our pedicures and I agreed for Angel to do my nails and she did a great job. Angela did another girls nails, who arrived well after us, then my friend's, which was rude. She knew we had an appointment, and the staff told her my friend was next, but this client was clearly more important to Angela than we are. We were finished, but we waited for Angela to finish the walkins nails then my friends, so an extra hour just sitting and waiting. Not the best experience, but great job by Angel and the other ladies who picked up the slack. (For reference I tip 40-50% depending on how nice my nails look.)

Horrible. The pictures say 1000 words. I got my nails done at nail today and after 1.5 weeks I had to get two nails fixed. I went in and paid 12 dollars to get it fixed. Now, just less than a week later another finger broke and my thumb has hair line cracks. Im sure it will break in the next few days. Im not sure why this has happened. The nail ladies do not take ownership or give me a reason to why. Do not go here.

Had such an amazing manicure here! Was my first time getting dip and am now hooked. Angela was so meticulous and made sure my nails turned out perfect. So happy with my manicure and can tell it will last for a while. I will definitely be back!

This place turned me on to dip powder nails and my nails have never been healthier! These last me 3 weeks vs gel I can only get a week and a half out of. They have a ton of colors- highly recommend!

Nail today is the best. I was referred to Angela for dip manicure and will never go anywhere else. I like my nails looking natural and she spends a great deal of time making them look perfect. All other places make them look fake. ANGELA IS AN ANGEL and always treats me like a queen. Also their pedicures last for so long.

It was as if he never got his deep tissue massage. I'm deeply saddened because my husband still ended up paying out of pocket (expensive massage) and he did not feel relaxed after. Environment & Ambience: Kabuki has a much wider space, calming music, great ambience, wonderful smells and decor. OnsenSF is a dining space when you enter and spa in the back. Everything looks modern and nice, relaxing environment despite being located in the tenderloin. 3. Hot Tub: Kabuki has a rectangle shaped hot tub as opposed to OnsenSF's square shaped tub. 4. Cold plunge: Kabuki has a cold plunge that's perfect for people who don't need it to be extremely freezing. OnsenSF has a cold shower with many heads in place of a cold plunge. Both are enjoyable experiences 5. Steam Room: Kabuki's steam room is also rectangular as opposed to OnsenSF's square room. Kabuki's steam room also has a shower to rinse off excess salt and sweat before entering the common area. 6. Showers: At Kabuki, there's also a line of stools for the seated handheld showers where you can fill a tub of water and pour it over yourself in addition to the traditional shower stalls, where OnsenSF only has the traditional showers if I recall correctly. 7. Sauna: The sauna was great because you could adjust the heat by moving up the wooden bleachers. There was also plenty of space to stretch out and lie down. There were wooden half-cylinder blocks to place under the neck and back to promote blood flow. My partner's favorite standout was the salt scrub they have that's free to take at the refreshments table. You use it to scrub away dead skin in the shower and steam room. My favorite was the bowl of towels buried in ice cubes that helped me keep a cool head in the hot tub and sauna room. I will say that the thing that makes OnsenSF stand out is their dining pop-ups, but there's plenty of dining options on Fillmore and in Japantown. I would definitely go back to Kabuki again. The experience was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend.

Possibly the best bathhouse in the Bay Area…read more Kabuki Springs is tucked away off a busy street in Japantown and feels like a portal to another dimension, one full of warm water, a quiet atmosphere, and plenty of lemon ginger tea. I was instantly drawn to how intentional everything feels here, from the dark wood of the sauna to the sleek tile in the showers. It feels carefully crafted to be both modern and timeless, with the Japanese motif flowing through all of the design. Personally, I love the dim lighting in the baths; with no windows, it feels like time is suspended. Is it midday, or midnight? Sunny, stormy? Early, late? You can't really tell when you're there, and that feels like the point. It's an escape in its truest, most relaxing sense. Attendants are constant in the baths, which makes it feel far more luxurious than what the price would suggest. Cucumber, lemon, or plain water are all on tap, as are iced hand towels, salt scrubs for the steam room, and hot lemon ginger tea. I loved how cups are encouraged to be reused (I hate seeing the giant pile of single-use cups in the trash at other spas). I'm holding out hope, however, that traditional green tea may make an appearance in the future! I'd recommend attending on one of the single-gender days, as I found that lent itself best to the fully immersive experience. Shower sandals are available, though I found them a bit uncomfortable. Next time I'll be sure to bring my own. As a bathhouse enthusiast, I cannot recommend this place enough. I can't wait to bring my friends here to learn for themselves just how relaxing and rejuvenating the sauna, steam, soak, and plunge rotation can be.

I wanted to treat myself to a facial during my last week living in SF. I was also going to be doing a lot of traveling over the next few weeks. I saw that this place had good ratings so I booked an appointment online. Since this is my first time here, I have no idea what my aesthetician looks like (context for later). I went upstairs where they were located and it looked like someone was working on another client's brows or something. So I was like "excuse me, I have an appointment right now". The lady instantly turned on hostile aggro mode for no reason. She asked me in a very condescending tone "are you sure you're at the right place? Because theres a lot of places nearby". Like what? What is that supposed to mean? Why would I be lost? There's only one Rosewater skincare on this street right? So I looked at the sign to double check, yup, it says Rosewater...and I asked "this is Rosewater right?". And then she said "yeah, what service do you have, who is it with?". I didn't remember off top of my head who it was with, but I told her it was for a facial. She said she would contact her colleague and told me to sit down. I double check my email and contacted the number listed on the email, no response. Turns out later that this number on the email is either wrong or not used. A few minutes passed as she continues to work on her client and then eventually she was like "you should contact heather, she tried calling you and said your appointment is actually monday". Dumbfounded by the continual rudeness even though I was nothing but respectful the whole time, I was like "ok I'll call her but I have an email confirming its for today..." I also asked whats her number because the one in the email doesn't seem to reach anyone. I checked my phone log and saw 2 missed calls (I get a lot of spam calls so I turn unknown phone calls off) so I asked if that was the number. To which she said yes. I was able to reach Heather and she profusely apologized for having the dates mixed up and offered to remedy the situation later today or this week. Unfortunately, that was the only time I was available. I work fulltime and every other time I am free, I have to do stuff for my move to nyc. I understand that people make mistakes and I do appreciate Heather trying to remedy the situation. But my interaction with her colleague was so disrespectful, demeaning and uncomfortable that it honestly soured my impression of the business. I really got the feeling that this lady was "judging a book by its cover" like theres no way someone like me could afford a facial in this bougie neighborhood. I did nothing to deserve this treatment so the only other reasoning would be that she doesn't think I fit the stereotypical lulu wearing clientele here. Maybe she was having a bad day but I doubt that cause she was laughing it up with her client...well, like they say, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
