The communication that had been so key early on had faded, and I honestly didn't know if we were on the schedule or had been completely punted. I had to follow up to ensure things were on track. It took multiple weeks to have someone out. I think it's because of the frequent rains throwing off the schedule, but again it felt my messages were sort of going to a void. They gave me about an hours notice when someone was coming out, and he did a really nice job. I was very surprised when I got the bill and it was $125 more than it's ever been in the past. Especially surprising because the email thread we had been going back and forth in had our prior invoice at $275, not at $400. When I asked what was up they cited that it took their employee three hours and my gutters were more clogged than before. To me, nothing has really changed, if anything we have had more trees trimmed back, and more importantly, I didn't know that would affect the cost so dramatically. It had been under a year and half since I last had them out. Had I known, I absolutely would've gone with a more reasonable option. I also felt like their response was a bit off-putting, and I'm surprised because again we've hired them at least three times and I've had such positive interactions up until now. I'll be looking elsewhere moving forward; they do a nice job, and are a professional enough company, but the lack of customer service and shockingly high bill will have me finding a new go-to for my annual gutter cleanings.

We got several recommendations from friends and neighbors, listened to several proposals and got some bids and decided on Green River Roofing. These guys are great. Dennis, the owner, was involved in the entire process. We received the most comprehensive estimate from his company, very detailed. It was also very resonable compared to several of the other companies. We were able to add in some extras, like insulation and a solar tube (he also does gutters, but we had already replaced them when we moved in). The workers were quick, the entire roof was done in under 3 days. They cleaned up the outside completely- we only found 1 set of nails left behind. Dennis thought that the plaster in our master bath had gotten cracked from the workers during the install and so he had his drywall team come in and repair our ceiling and repaint it at no cost to us. We payed 1/2 on the first day, most of the rest on the final day of installing the roof and the final payment after his drywall guys finished fixing our master bath. I've recommend him to my Dad and he hired him to replace a few roofs and do guttering on his rental houses and was equally impressed with Dennis. So if you are in need of a new roof, guttters, siding, windows or a new deck - call these guys and get an estimate. You won't be disappointed.

Pete is absolutely reliable--if he says he'll be there, he'll be there. He goes out of his way to take care of the details (e.g., coloring the mortar so that it'll dry to match the original now darkened material). This company is a great choice for all masonry and brick repair work as well as brick and stone…read moreconstruction projects. We came into contact with them when we needed someone to do extensive tuckpointing and repair work on two old stone walls leading into a basement garage on our 70-year-old house, but we were having trouble finding a company that was interested in just repair and tuckpointing. We eventually called a high-end concrete and masonry contractor that specializes in large and elaborate masonry projects and asked them for a recommendation and they provided Masonry Craftsman's contact info. I called Pete, Masonry Craftsman's owner, and he offered to stop by and take a look as soon as we could be available. When Pete first came to the door, I mentioned in passing that we had at one time wanted to replace the front brick entrance stairs that he was standing on but had found it would be prohibitively expensive. The stairs had been a bad DIY project by a previous owner that resulted in two super-steep steps that were a chore for most people to climb. I told him that we had spoken with several contractors in the past and they all said we needed to tear them completely out and replace them with poured concrete for a huge amount of money which we couldn't justify spending on the house. Pete took a look and quickly proposed a plan to insert two additional brick steps into the stairway, and also mentioned that he could tint the mortar and use some extra brick we had of the same type so it would all look original to the house. He quoted us a price that we felt was reasonable for the work involved in order to repair both the walls and to redesign the front steps . Long story short, Pete and his assistant Dave were able to start immediately and finished the job a day faster than promised, and it all looks terrific. The stairs were particularly great considering that we thought we would never be able to afford to do anything to fix them. The idea Pete came up with is not only very functional and allows people to enter and exit the house without climbing gear, but it really matches the character of the house. Our walls also look very nice as well and Pete and Dave cleaned everything up thoroughly before they left. We usually cringe at the thought of having anyone work on our house because it often results in disappointment, but this is one of the few times that we have had our expectations exceeded, and both Pete and Dave were very pleasant to work with (they even fixed a small cracked area in our neighbor's sidewalk for free with some leftover mortar). We will definitely call them again for any masonry-related jobs.

This is going to be different than the average review... I heard about KC Coring through family…read morefriends that had used them to put in an egress window in their basement, and that they had done a great job. They apparently used to do everything for egress windows - install the wood framing, window, and window well; but now they only do the foundation saw-cut. I had them come out and make the cut and when I saw the finished product... I was not pleased. The rectangular cut was not straight. The contractor operating the saw had clearly made a mistake. So why did I give them a 5-star rating? Here's why - I called them up the next day, and told them that I was unhappy with the work. I talked with Earnest Collins who was receptive of my complaint and offered to drive out right then and there to see for himself. Upon seeing the irregular cut, he agreed that the work was not representative of KC Coring and offered a number of solutions to remedy this mistake. In the end, they came back out, made a new cut (which was perfect), gave me a window to fit their cut (valued at around $600), and removed all of the concrete blocks that they had cut out. This showed me what kind of company they are - one that really cares about their costumers' satisfaction and who takes pride in their work and wants to finish a job professionally.
