I was given a bid over the phone (which was very reasonable), and the bid matched what we were charged. They came out the next day. We hired the Lawn Barber to install four french drains at our house and received a verbal estimate for the work at $175 each. When the work was complete, we received an invoice for $1,175 (which amounts to $294 for each drain). When I questioned the invoice, Nick apologized for the "misunderstanding" and offered to discount the bill by a whole $40. There was no explanation given for the discrepancy and Nick insisted that we pay the invoiced fee, notwithstanding the lower verbal estimate. To make matters worse, two of the four drains started leaking underground and had to be entirely replaced at our cost. So if you're interested in poor quality service by a dishonest company, The Lawn Barber would be a great choice. read more

We had an area of our yard that needed seeding and I thought the way to go was to verticut. I spoke with Nick and he convinced me to go another route. His team came out core aerated then seeded the entire yard. They also spent some extra time on the area that was the main problem. They put watering directions on the front stoop and followed up with a phone call the next day to see if I had any questions.Within 6 weeks our yard was the nicest on the block.
