I DO NOT recommend Platinum Outdoor Concepts. I work with contractors all the time in my job. It isn't a matter of a company never having something come up, it's bound to happen at some point, it's how the company or person responds when issues do arise. With Dave Woodring, expect HORRIBLE customer. I would definitely not recommend using them for anything. I bought my new house in mid February. Mid March I had a drunk driver flip their car landing in my driveway and throw large chunks of a neighborhood sign into my house. Luckily the driver was ok, my house, not so much... All the fluids from the car leaked all over the driveway and large chips throughout as well, due to this my insurance company allowed for for driveway to be replaced. I was given the information for Platinum as a referral. I saw that they did landscaping and drainage as well, so I figured I'd do a couple other things that were needed as well, so it would be perfect. I needed to have my sump pump line buried with a French drain because it was causing issues in my new neighbors yard. Also, I decided to have the downspouts buried as well. Finally, because my driveway was being replaced I figured now would be a perfect time. I have a sprinkler system, so I confirmed with Dave prior to the driveway repairs being completed that they would be able to move the lines out. I wasn't sure exactly where they were, except for 1, which was 6" from the driveway. I also provided him a copy of the sprinkler system map left by the prior owner. He stated that the lines were typically about 1 to 1.5' from the driveway, which they were to be widening the driveway about 2.5' out on each side. He said, not a problem, all of his guys have the tools to do this. He took a photo of the map and provided it to his employees. They also confirmed with me that they had the maps. Once complete the concrete worker told me Dave would be sending someone out later in the week to relay the lines. I checked with him and he stated they weren't working, therefore he didn't have to do anything. I provided him with the sellers disclosures stating they were working on 10/29 when winterized, confirmed with my neighbor they were working last summer and provided him a report from the tech who serviced the system 3 times a year at minimum for the last 5 years confirming they were working. When I had the lines turned on (which he told me not to do prior to the driveway being replaced) the 1 head the left on one side is still working as well as the heads after the ones removed on the right side of the driveway are working. I received no response until I sent him one of the Ring videos I have where we were specifically talking about the sprinklers. Shortly after he watched it I received a message on 4/20 from Dave stating: Jesse - I will be in touch this week in order to try and get this resolved. - Dave Woodring  - Platinum Outdoor Concepts The next I heard from him was 4/23: I can swing by next week in the Morning and take a look at what we can do to come to an agreement with the work done. - Dave Woodring - Platinum Outdoor Concepts I sent him a message asking when I never received a response. I have still not received any response. 2 things were requested with my driveway, I told him I didn't want to widen it if they were not able to relocate the lines and I wanted the line to be centered on the garage door. I was assured both would happen. Neither did. I was hoping he would do the right thing and fix the sprinkler system, however that has not happened. All the issues include: 1. The sprinkler system an issue. This will be a $1900 fix due to 2 zones needing to be rebuilt (they buried one of the valve boxes) and 1 new line run for a third zone. 2. the center line that is off center 3. massive cracks in the street at the end of the driveway 4. he massive ruts in my yard, side yard and front yard. I expected some mess, however the damage is excessive. They put seed and hay out in my friends yard after they were complete.  5. they left a large pile of roots for me to figure our how to dispose of them as Missouri does not pick up yard waste. I ended up getting LawnCorp service to pick it up. 6. 2" pipe left completely open into a 4" pipe for the French drain system and they didn't have the right tools to get through the roots to take the line to the street like Dave said they would, so they stopped it halfway to the street. It's now messing up my neighbors yard in a new place

My neighbor was getting some work done so I talked to the crew and then got in touch with Dave and I'm glad I did!

You said they would not be a problem, It's a problem. And what is the vine on the one lilac? I hope it's not poison ivy. No response from her. I contacted her again, on the 17th. Kathryn, these are growing up through the mat you put under the rocks. You said that wouldn't happen. Her reply yesterday the 17th. Hi Lori, I had discussed with you that the bagged rock was full of dirt which is causing this issue. I blew off as much as I could the day of however there was still way too much. This is typical from bagged rock. My best recommendation now would be to remove the rock and throughly rinse the area of all dirt and debris or remove the rock (you can use elsewhere if you'd like), throughly clear all dirt and debris then lay new rock from my vendor. I want to point out that the weeds are coming from above the weedmat from the dirt that came with the rocks. If you move the nearby rocks to the weeds, you'll see that the start of the roots are on top then they're penetrating the mat allowing them to keep growing. I will be happy to come out again. Let me know which option you'd like to go with and I'll send you the estimate. My reply yesterday. No, I have pulled the rocks back, and they are through the mat in several places. Why didn't you rinse it when you put it down there if you knew that was an issue? There was a hose right there. So the mat is not stopping anything and you knew this would happen. So I paid you 2K for nothing other than making it a smaller area with the same issues. That is unacceptable, that I have to come after your work to remove and rinse what you knew to be a problem, and did not take care of. By the way, she said with the industrial mat nothing would come through, that's why she uses it. She only used two bags of new rock, the rest were the original rocks, she did not mention they needed to be rinsed along with all of the existing rock and she didn't do it. From the amount of dirt between the rock and mat it looks like she didn't rinse near enough or at all. Here is her reply. I did rinse it once it was laid and I blew off at high velocity. However it didn't remove all of it. I did let you know the day of about the issue with the dirt in the rocks. The roots are penetrating the mat from above not below. She said I rinsed it once AFTER it was laid, not before. So, the mat and the rocks were not rinsed before she put them back. Thus leaving the dirt in all of the rock she put back. So I still have grass and weeds growing in my new landscaping.

Short version, highly recommend this company…read more Ian and his crew just finished putting in a new stone retaining wall in front of our house. They removed two evergreen bush stumps, back filled with dirt, placed a thick weed barrier, placed a thick layer of black mulch, and placed 8 new bushes/grass plants. There was also a downspout in this area that they attached a drainage tube to and routed the tube underground away from the house to a pop-up discharge. This work will reduce erosion around our front porch and get water away from the foundation. Ian then gave us a lesson on how often these plants need water. Attached is a photo of the project. Ian and his crew were very polite, showed up when they said they would be there, worked very professionally, and cleaned up our yard when they were done. We highly recommend Ian and are already thinking about a small project for this fall that we will have Ian do.
