Wow! Had Dave come out and give me a estimate look at the back and masseur, I was told $1900 he needed 50% up front and cash only, I trusted the man, well what a mess, he sent out two man one 75 year old and one Young man, the young man spent half the time on the phone and what ever work he did it had to be Turn down and redone by the old gentlemen, the brick line did not lined up properly so the bricks underneath the first line will not be locked in in place, it had to be taking down and redone, a one day jab turned into a four day job, I asked Dave if he Wood glue some of the bricks he said no that's more money more labor, well I pick up a tube of glue for the concrete I gave it to the young man and it took 20 minutes and $20 later, The brick we're not on a straight line, so one more time and have to be taken down and redone, when the gentleman put the glue on between the brick he shoved, a screwdriver, lifted the bricks squished the glue in, there was glue dripping out the sides of the not being done correctly, I was told I was looking to get out of paying the balance, and I will pay when the job is finished,He will not come out. He had the young man take a pictures send them him, Dave call me and tell me it looks beautiful, well, finally, I pick up a shovel and went out worked with the guys for a few days, i am in lol the pic working and paying this company, for three days, breaking my back after that, I was having a party and had no time, when they left the job, they left a bunch of trash in the street. I had to go out and pick it up, when they did the side of the house, I drew a line we're I wanted the bricks line up, well the guy did the opposite. He built it the way he liked it, so the older gentleman had to come back took it all down and redo it again., Story short, i been true hell I can not have enough room to write the rest of the story. I will not recommend this to my worst enemy. This company is terrible. I got yelled at by Dave. I got called a scammer every day telling me that I was looking not to pay the bill, i call him to come out and look at the job and make it right well what a disaster, he never come to the job sight, then I was told many times I was a scammer looking not to pay the bill, then I was told by the guys they get paid cash only so obviously he's got no Workmen's Comp. and no insurance, never again, I will never give cash or deposit to a company I hire, after trusting him I don't recommend him do you self a favor don't use this company. read more

It's sad when companies don't stand behind their work. Our HOA hired Platinum Outdoor Concepts, owner Dave Woodring, (913) 707-8204, to install Christmas lights at the entrance of our subdivision. We entered into a contract and paid them $1,200. As the pictures show, not a very professional job. When we asked them to fix the crooked, burned out, and haphazardly strung lights or refund the money, Mr. Woodring replied, "From the jump, I explained we don't install XMAS lighting. This is something that we do not do. We are on vacation Sir." Note: Their website says they install holiday lighting (and they accepted the job!!). See attached. I DO NOT recommend Platinum Outdoor Concepts. I work with contractors all the time in my job. It isn't a matter of a company never having something come up, it's bound to happen at some point, it's how the company or person responds when issues do arise. With Dave Woodring, expect HORRIBLE customer. I would definitely not recommend using them for anything. I bought my new house in mid February. Mid March I had a drunk driver flip their car landing in my driveway and throw large chunks of a neighborhood sign into my house. Luckily the driver was ok, my house, not so much... All the fluids from the car leaked all over the driveway and large chips throughout as well, due to this my insurance company allowed for for driveway to be replaced. I was given the information for Platinum as a referral. I saw that they did landscaping and drainage as well, so I figured I'd do a couple other things that were needed as well, so it would be perfect. I needed to have my sump pump line buried with a French drain because it was causing issues in my new neighbors yard. Also, I decided to have the downspouts buried as well. Finally, because my driveway was being replaced I figured now would be a perfect time. I have a sprinkler system, so I confirmed with Dave prior to the driveway repairs being completed that they would be able to move the lines out. I wasn't sure exactly where they were, except for 1, which was 6" from the driveway. I also provided him a copy of the sprinkler system map left by the prior owner. He stated that the lines were typically about 1 to 1.5' from the driveway, which they were to be widening the driveway about 2.5' out on each side. He said, not a problem, all of his guys have the tools to do this. He took a photo of the map and provided it to his employees. They also confirmed with me that they had the maps. Once complete the concrete worker told me Dave would be sending someone out later in the week to relay the lines. I checked with him and he stated they weren't working, therefore he didn't have to do anything. I provided him with the sellers disclosures stating they were working on 10/29 when winterized, confirmed with my neighbor they were working last summer and provided him a report from the tech who serviced the system 3 times a year at minimum for the last 5 years confirming they were working. When I had the lines turned on (which he told me not to do prior to the driveway being replaced) the 1 head the left on one side is still working as well as the heads after the ones removed on the right side of the driveway are working. I received no response until I sent him one of the Ring videos I have where we were specifically talking about the sprinklers. Shortly after he watched it I received a message on 4/20 from Dave stating: Jesse - I will be in touch this week in order to try and get this resolved. - Dave Woodring  - Platinum Outdoor Concepts The next I heard from him was 4/23: I can swing by next week in the Morning and take a look at what we can do to come to an agreement with the work done. - Dave Woodring - Platinum Outdoor Concepts I sent him a message asking when I never received a response. I have still not received any response. 2 things were requested with my driveway, I told him I didn't want to widen it if they were not able to relocate the lines and I wanted the line to be centered on the garage door. I was assured both would happen. Neither did. I was hoping he would do the right thing and fix the sprinkler system, however that has not happened. All the issues include: 1. The sprinkler system an issue. This will be a $1900 fix due to 2 zones needing to be rebuilt (they buried one of the valve boxes) and 1 new line run for a third zone. 2. the center line that is off center 3. massive cracks in the street at the end of the driveway 4. he massive ruts in my yard, side yard and front yard. I expected some mess, however the damage is excessive. They put seed and hay out in my friends yard after they were complete.  5. they left a large pile of roots for me to figure our how to dispose of them as Missouri does not pick up yard waste. I ended up getting LawnCorp service to pick it up. 6. 2" pipe left completely open into a 4" pipe for the French drain system and they didn't have the right tools to get through the roots to take the line to the street like Dave said they would, so they stopped it halfway to the street. My company provides services for individuals with intellectual /developmental delays. We are doing some renovations and needed an old fence taken down and a new fence put in, in a timely manner. I got ahold of Dave after seeing a few posts on Facebook, regarding some work that Platinum Outdoor Concepts had completed. Dave came out to the facility and was very knowledgeable and honest. Dave explained that not all of the fence posts needed replacing and some were still in good condition, which saved the company money. Dave came back with a very competitive bid and had a crew start on the fence, a few days later. The job was completed, in a timely manner, well organized pertaining to communication and logistics, with efficiency, and the end product surpassed expectations. He filled me with plenty advice and designs. They cleaned up very well and closely worked with us on dates and cost. It turned out wonderful. I would give them a NEGATIVE review if I could. Dave and his team are utterly and completely unprofessional in their work and dealings with clients. 1. There were several lights broken as they installed them. I had to fight to get them replaced. 2. I have two dead trees that he is refusing to replace for free. These trees well cost over 1000 dollars and he wants to charge me to replant them. He's refusing to present a receipt to even get the warrantee on them honored. They were dead in less than two months. 3. They left dangerous wiring sticking up from the sidewalk and showing all over the backyard. 4. Dave kept changing the placement of plants without discussing it with me first. 5. Dave refused to give me an invoice of any kind. We were trying to get receipts to just return the trees and replant ourselves but he refused to even give the name of the nursery. There's something fishy here... LUCKY TO GET ONE STAR - THEY REALLY DESERVE NEGATIVE (-5) STARS! Did not complete project as discussed and agreed. The owner does not communicate with field workers the agreed upon project Scope of Work between the Buyer / Seller. Short cuts were taken in the field to save the company money. The owner is rarely onsite to project manage the field workers. Good plants seem to disappear from your yard that could be reused in the owner's new landscape design. (in my case a large mum and double knockout rose bush.) But the crappy ones were not disposed of. I had to loan the workers my own personal chain saw, shovel, and rake so they could perform their work. Two trailer loads of tree trimmings and shrubs were stacked on my side yard (street side) my lawn (a South Overland Park, KS subdivision) for a week which is against city code leaving an eye sore for the neighborhood and killing out that part of my lawn. I had to complain to the Dave Woodring, CEO /Owner to remove the dead tree branches before the HOA filed a complaint with the City to have them remove the debris. They install very cheap LED landscape lights which they purchase in a kit from Home Depo for $99.00. The kit includes 4 pathway lights, 2 flood lights 75' for wire, wire clips, and a transformer. When they ran short of wire so they left the wire above ground and did not bury it. You will pay an outrageous $$$ price for the LED light installation. If you try to relocate the any of lights they will snap off at the base of the stake because they are made CHEAP plastic! WARNING DO NOT INSTALL THESE LIGHTS YOU WILL BE SORRY FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY THEY ARE A TOTAL RIP-OFF. If you must have LED landscape lights hire a good electrician and purchase good SOLID METAL LED lights. You will pay the same price you pay this Platinum Outdoor Concepts but the job will be done right. I could list many other items that went wrong with this project, but the take away here is I had to hire 3 THREE NEW PROFESSIONAL CONTRACTORS to correct the work that they had installed and complete the work that was remaining to be finished. I just needed to get this company off my property because they were a joke and simply were wearing me out watching their every move making sure they were not ripping me off. Simply stated they our out to SCAM anyone that they can get by with and they should be put out of business. I worked as a Staff Buyer for the Government for 37 years contracting Construction and Landscaping firms and would NEVER recommend this firm to anyone. My neighbor an 84 year woman had similar issues with unprofessional work and extremely high prices being quoted for her and work not being completed as proposed. If you decide to go with this firm all I can say is BUYER BEWARE. Final Note: - I have pictures to document Platinum Outdoor Concepts - Job site before work started, their work in process, and their completed work. - I then took pictures of work in process by contractors hired to correct deficient work by Platinum Outdoor Concepts, Corrected work in process, and completed work per Scope of Work. read more

Horrible work. Everything was done wrong. Our fence was not put together correctly and the slats fell off the posts. The gates were put together incorrectly. We had to take down the fence the same night. We asked for fench drains and the wrong drains were put in and they destroyed our yard. They cut a hole in one of our drains coming down the side house while installing the fence. Everything needs to be removed and redone. Stay away from this company. read more

Avoid at ALL costs... Over-charged for CHEAP Home Depot LED lighting... Butchered several trees when attempting to 'trim' them with battery powered chainsaws. Now wanting to over-charge again on the same LED lights that were supposed to be covered by 'warranty'. read more
