Chris came out to my house before the other two even replied to my message. I'd had the job priced a few years earlier when another tree service was in the neighborhood but turns out Timber Tree Service was a few hundred dollars less. They came out when they said they would and did a fantastic job! My large tree had started growing into my house, chimney and my neighbors roof. I wish I had taken some before pictures but in the after pictures attached you can see how nice my tree looks now and kind of see how difficult the job was. After the job was done they walked the area and cleaned up every last branch and took it all away. Chris gave me some advice on my other trees I can trim myself, explained an issue with my neighbor's tree and even pointed out Poison Ivy by my kids playset (I had no idea)! We've used Chris and Timber Tree Service 3 times now, and have had zero issues. Over the years, we've had everything from simple trimming and pruning to large branch removal, as well as an eye sore of a massive pine tree cut down and stump ground down. Each time, Chris has been responsive to the estimate request, and timely in his communication. He's always been upfront and honest, and his pricing actually lines up with the bids he sends over. There's no "extra, surprise upsales" - and if extra work is recommended, he communicates beforehand. His crew is quick and efficient, and always on time. Never leaves a mess. These days, customer service and honesty is hard to come by with companies, but it's never an issue here. I would definitely recommend Chris - and will continue to use him and his company. read more

I'm generally against writing a review that isn't service-based, but this needs an exception. Chris Sorenson, Timber's owner, and his guys were taking down a tree for one of my neighbors. Through their incompetence, they hit the primary and secondary power wires, causing an arc, which in turn, caused a massive power surge. This surge caused about $12,000 worth of damage to my home and fried my entire circuit box, washing machine, television and playstation, among other things. I approached Chris about getting his insurance to cover the damages. He hemmed and hawed around and tried to tell me he wasn't responsible because he "wasn't on my property" and it was "an act of God." After I sent him pictures of the scorched outlets and damage at my house, he tried to claim I had "severe wiring issues." An electrician came out and examined my home and disproved that, at which point Chris, for some reason, shifted his excuse to calling me a drug addict. Even going so far as to claim my neighbor verified that (he didn't, probably because I don't do drugs). The fact is, the damage to my house was caused by his negligence. He knows it and his crew knows it. But he not only refused to accept responsibility, he called me on the phone to act like a tough guy, and claimed his lawyer said he's not liable, because if he was, Evergy would have contacted him. I contacted Evergy and they not only told me this was a lie, but they sent out an inspector who confirmed his crew caused the power surge. The fact that he's fighting this so hard, despite knowing his actions caused the problem, suggests to me that he's not actually insured and bonded. And even if he is, he's clearly an unethical person. You'd be a fool to allow him anywhere near your house, because you can be sure if he damages your property he won't be man enough to accept the responsibility for it. There are a lot of tree services out there. Find another one who won't try to screw you over for their own incompetence and/or negligence. Edit: Since Chris has replied with his "facts," let me explain further. There was an electrical storm on the date he mentioned. However, during that storm, my house suffered no damage. He is correct that the tree that fell on another neighbor's shed was an act of God, as that occurred during the storm. The damage to my residence didn't occur until his crew caused the arc, as evidenced by my electronics getting fried and scorch marks appearing on my outlets on a cloudless summer day. In other words, my damaged property was a direct result of the power surge he caused, which flipped my main breaker. Further, I never claimed "all of my electronics" were destroyed, but I did lose a television, two gaming consoles, a microwave, a coffee maker and a washing machine, plus had to get my entire circuit breaker box replaced. Not including my deductible, Timber Tree's incompetence ended up costing me several thousand dollars out of pocket thanks time to off work and insurance companies' depreciated value of goods. This money that I wouldn't have had to spend if Chris had an ounce of integrity. I'm not trying to get over on anyone. I just believe people should take responsibility for their actions, particularly when those cause damages to other people. Don't let his lying response fool you. He knows he caused the surge, he just found a way to weasel out of paying for it by tying it up with bureaucracy. Do business with him at your own peril. read more

Chris clearly puts the interest of a tree's health and the clients desires first. While they were working we had asked about trimming some additional larger limbs that hang over our neighbors pool, and instead of adding to the initial job quote he explained how negativity this request would impact the longevity of the tree. We contacted Timber for a quote on tree trimming. The quote was provided the same day, which was very impressive. We had trouble getting anyone else to even show up for a quote! Once we finally received a couple more quotes, Timber's bid was at least $100 lower than the competitors. I contacted the owner on a Friday, and he said they would be out some time the next week to complete the work. True to his word, he texted the following Thursday morning to say they were on their way. I honestly would have preferred to have been contacted the night before or first thing in the morning, but it worked out that we were home. The work was quickly completed without issue and the crew did a great job of clearing away all debris from the job. The cost was exactly as quoted, though there was a surcharge for using a credit card. It wasn't substantial, but again, I would have appreciated prior notice. We will definitely contact Timber again for our tree needs. read more

This is the forth tree service company I have hired to take down a tree. The other three were in different cities/different properties. This company was by far the best. They provided excellent service throughout & they had the best price out of the five local companies I contacted. One company told me it would take them two days to take down my tree. These workers took their time bringing down my large tree next to my house safely but worked hard and got it done in one day.
