Amazing donuts and the BEST service! The lady at the counter was so patient with us as it was our first time and we were trying to decide which four donuts we should get. We settled on just getting three- the Samoa, Nutella, and Caramel Churro. She noticed we were originally going to get four and decided to throw in a free donut! So we got the Tortured S'mores one too. Our total came out to $8.25, which was great value for such quality donuts! I've been going to Zombee Donuts since they opened and each time I go in I remember how much I love them. The theme of the whole store is right up my alley and the donuts are always amazing. My favourites are the PB&J, Caramel Apple, and the Monster (made with real energy drink!). And the workers have always, and I mean always, been nice. I'd walk in every Wednesday between my classes at the college and they'd have a smile and a donut waiting for me. They also do custom cakes and speciality donuts. But today really stood out after the morning I've had, and with everything else in the world going on i just really needed a donut. We weren't sure they'd even be open or if they would have any donuts left but they did!! And while my favourites weren't there I got some equally as great ones. And the amazing girl behind the counter was so beyond nice that she gave us an extra donut to try just to see if we'd like it. It was the perfect pick me up. See, I'm kind of boring- I'm fine without a ton of extras. Sometimes you go to a place like this and find behind the design and extra goodness, there isn't much else. Been wanting to try this place because it reminds me a bit of California Donuts except its main theme is zombies of course. Very cute location located near Fullerton college. I went early afternoon and it was not busy at all. Now the only downfall was that there was not a lot of options to pick from. It looked like all they had left were certain donuts. Before I was diagnosed with a gluten allergy there was a whole year of my life where I constantly craved donuts, fast forward two 2 years of being gluten-free I was able to find plenty of dessert places that had a gluten-free option but never a gluten-free donut. My coworker decided to pick some of these donuts to lift our spirits and brought me one gluten-free donut. I was extremely skeptical when he told me it was gluten-free because I had almost accepted the fact that no donut place has gluten-free donuts. So I did my research and prayed I would not get sick with my first bite. After one bite, I almost broke out in tears. For the past two years, I have been craving a maple glazed donut and this not only tasted amazing but it was incredibly moist and not overly sweet. I have fully adapted to the taste of gluten-free so I am not sure if it would taste different to others but I can honestly say I am willing to drive out 45 minutes for these donuts because they are amazing. I'm coming in on a hot Saturday afternoon, when most of the rest of the population is under some sort of air conditioning, so my review will have to factor in a few things. But I will give it a fair shake with some constructive criticism. The donuts are donuts. The uniqueness in them is that they have icing and designs that a lot of donut shops don't. The taste of the ingredients is okay in that regard. My only irk is that the whipped cream filling doesn't seem to hold up in a room temperature environment or lost a lot of the fluffy texture. Perhaps make the donuts cold, or make the cream thicker. Like I said, my visit happened on a Saturday afternoon, so it was pretty dead in there (pun intended). I'm sure the place is crawling with bodies after the bake is fresh out the oven. And sorry for the lack of photos, I ate the other two donuts by the time I wrote this. I'm so glad that this business survived COVID. Their decorated themed desserts are so cute, but the original glazed donuts are the best I've ever had. They're SO fluffy and delicate; SO worth the price. They sell out sometimes, so make sure to call ahead to confirm if they have enough!! Superb customer service, found myself there on an off day wanting to buy donuts for my husband since he was working late. It was 545 PM and they were about to close their doors at 6:00 PM. The girl working behind the counter was still very helpful and nice with answering all my questions in regards to type of donut, fillings, etc. when it was closing time in many cases you often feel rushed by service staff to place your picks and get the hell out of the door. I wouldn't say that their donuts are amazing in flavor, texture, or consistency but keep in mind these were the donuts at the end of the day. I'm sure that they are much better fresh in the morning. The quality of their vegan donuts is similar to their normal donuts. Although the donuts are very cute with their monster themed designs based on the shop's name. The only donuts I might ever purchase again are the ones filled with whipped cream or had other types of filling as the other donuts lacked the wow factor I was hoping for above average priced donuts. This little shop is located on Chapman, near Fullerton Community College. There is a small parking lot behind the shop as well as street parking. I happened to walk by on the way to the park and it smelled good from the outside. There are lots of options, some basic and some creative. The creativity and art on the donuts do not take away from the taste at all. I got a tortured smores donut and it was delish! I ate it all in one sitting! I liked that the donut itself did not have any filling, because filling would have made it too sweet. The donut itself was not very sweet, but with the combination of chocolate and marshmallows on top made it sweet, but still not super sweet. It was so good! Love their donuts and if they were less than great, I would have given them 1 star. Why am I giving them 3 stars? Greed or bad business strategy... not sure yet. When someone buys $50 of donuts (sort of an unusual thing right?) they should not 'nickel and dime' the customer for 50 cents because they are using their ATM card. I happen to know that the bank charges less for a ATM transaction but even if they didn't, it's the cost of business. I spoke to the owner and she was very nice, but I explained that I understand the charges and transferring that to the customer is not a good business practice and it rubs me the wrong way. If I were ordering a couple of donuts or less than $10, I would understand. After all, she is using quality products and the price of her donuts are 2x others... I simply told her that it rubs customers the wrong way, at this volume, but didn't appear to be listening to her customer. This in itself will be her Achilles heal. Unfortunately, it is the principal of it and although I love the donuts and creativity, I won't be back.
