How should this experience be improved - have a driver that actually has a flow of information about the City and the sites being visited - rather than generic comments such as - to the right is a nice high end restaurant - end of statement. Or providing details about history, architecture or tidbits of information which can't be gleamed by not living in the City. Structure for implementation was flawed and the whole trip was rushed because the driver was behind schedule. Ten minutes to see the Capital - come on. I wanted to use a local company - not a national chain like Old Town Trolley - thought it would be a more intimate and engaging experience - it wasn't. I've been to DC 10 times and I could have given a better tour to our group - and in actuality, I did - filling in historical details which were not part of the tour. Tour group of 8 - waste of money. Save your money and go with a different tour group.

We had an outstanding Washington DC night tour with Ali. He promptly picked us up and went over the itinerary for our four hour night tour. His debt of knowledge and history was exceptional. He is celebrating 30 years of running tours. His tour includes a bonus video tour and history book he wrote emailed to each of us. He knew the history of every building and paved together stories with humor. He was really smart, kind and helpful. We drove around the National Mall as the sun was setting and spent time at the White House as well as the all the memorials in the National Mall. We had time to explore and take pictures and walk around. He even dropped us off at our hotels. He went above and beyond. We all agreed it was the BEST tour! You won't regret it.

Maybe I should give this a 2 Star but I want to make sure that you as the reader don not make a mistake and take this tour. Over the years I have been on 3 different tours. This one was by FAR the worst and the price is about the same for all three. We chose this tour because it picked up at our hotel (and because the bell man pushed us towards this one). Lloyd, our tour leader was the only positive. And he was only average at best! The bus absolutely sucked. Uncomfortable, noisy and had poor sightseeing abilities. When it picked us up I really thought it was our shuttle to the "real" bus!! The stops were so short I felt like I had to power walk each monument and now feel like I need to drive back to a few just to get a better look. To enjoy your sightseeing trip pick another company! I wish I would have did a better job of researching before I spent my $.

Being our first visit to D.C. we had walked all day looking at sites. We decided to take the night tour so we could see the sites we missed plus see them at night and relax. Lloyd our driver was very informative about all the sites we stopped at. He allowed us to get out and walk around to take photos. The van we were in had big windows and had cold air conditioning. At the end of the tour he even dropped us off at our hotel.

The other reviews sre very unfair. The tour is reasonably priced and the guide was extremely accommodating and amusing. The guide was extremely knowledgeable of all the major sites. Tje bus was comfortable and spacious.

We are local to the area and love history, spooky stories and corny jokes so for us this is a fun date :-). The tour began at the Old Stone House where we were checked in and divided into two groups of about 18 people each. Everyone in our group was from out of town except us and our amazing tour guide Sonia. She effortlessly led us from site to site while allowing time for questions and photos. She also made sure our group stayed together and safely crossed the streets. I was concerned that it would be hard to hear given the traffic and Saturday night usual cacophony that is Georgetown but that generally wasn't a problem. We didn't see any ghosts - DRAT! But we did have fun and learn some history along the way. We would recommend this tour company and this particular tour.

But if its a hot or muggy day, the photos of smiling passengers will not be indicative of your red/blue line experience. These buses have no A/C, and if you want to sit al-fresco and its a sunny day, you'll be just as sweaty. Think: "summertime Alabama prison bus experience" and this will meet that expectation.

The guy told us to get on the bus and stay on. It would do the red line, then the blue line. We could then do the evening tour. Okay then. Off we go. Finished the red line, and we're told to get off the bus. What? Last bus is at 4:30.. not what we were told. Not happy. We went on to the evening tour. I'd say it was pretty good. I did enjoy that parts of this tour. Didn't enjoy the "stories" so much. Would have liked more history. We got the bus the next morning and went to Arlington. When we finished we went to the stop, not such great bus timing. Their brochure said buses come every 15 minutes. After an hour of waiting we tried to contact BB to see what was going on? They do not have a phone number that works. There is an email address that stars it will get back to you in 24 hours.., what? We waiting over an hour and gave up for an uber. We did get another email telling us there are delays due to events. This is not okay we when have paid for a 24 hour pass that is not usable. All in all, our 24 hour pass was good for 3 hours. Reason for this? Maybe because only two buses run on Sunday. So unless you have the time to wait two hours for your next bus, it's not worth it! Do not use this service!

We were lucky enough to be in a smaller van while others were in large busses, so our experience was more personalized. Dwayne knocked our socks off. He crams so much knowledge into the tour, well above and beyond the actual stops. His passion for the city and knowledge of architecture and history were impressive. He also knew his way round the current blockages/construction and was able to avoid politics while discussing the current construction which takes mad skills. He thoroughly answered any random questions we threw at him and had deep knowledge of subjects like the Red Cross and Clara Barton, I've volunteered with them for years and didn't know his fun facts. Dwayne was born for this role and may be the best tour guide I've had in my life. I now question my own passions/interests. Dwayne gave great suggestions for getting the best photos and what else we can do in his city. I wish I had more days here and could do more tours with Dwayne! He is so inspiring!
