I was only in DC for a few days, received a brochure for Zohery bus tours in DC. I was very fortunate to meet Mr. Zohery to tour the DC area at very late notice. He was very kind and accommodated me to a very safe and informative tour of the DC area. I got to see most of the DC iconic memorials, buildings, and monuments within a 2 hour bus ride. His knowledge of the DC area was extremely informative, and he gave us a nice view of the area. It was nice to be inside the bus, as we were touring during the winter time. I was recently in DC with my bestie for an overnight girls trip. Also, my way of celebrating my Grandmother's birthday, had she been living, she would have been 77yrs old. So,we flew in town and the next day booked the tour. We caught a brief uber ride to the pickup location. Where a mini tour bus loaded, about 40 people. Our tour guide/driver was sooo much fun. He shared interesting stories about everything in the area, major landmarks and important buildings. He was friendly, on time and timed us to get back on the bus for the next location. He did head counts on and off and remembered everyone by the City or State they were from. So, we all kinda chatted n shared a little info along the ride. I felt safe. We checked on one another and just had fun. The price was only $54 for all this entertainment. We flew just to sight see for one night. This was worth it! I absolutely recommend!! How should this experience be improved - have a driver that actually has a flow of information about the City and the sites being visited - rather than generic comments such as - to the right is a nice high end restaurant - end of statement. Or providing details about history, architecture or tidbits of information which can't be gleamed by not living in the City. Structure for implementation was flawed and the whole trip was rushed because the driver was behind schedule. Ten minutes to see the Capital - come on. I wanted to use a local company - not a national chain like Old Town Trolley - thought it would be a more intimate and engaging experience - it wasn't. I've been to DC 10 times and I could have given a better tour to our group - and in actuality, I did - filling in historical details which were not part of the tour. Tour group of 8 - waste of money. He is celebrating 30 years of running tours. His tour includes a bonus video tour and history book he wrote emailed to each of us. He knew the history of every building and paved together stories with humor. He was really smart, kind and helpful. We drove around the National Mall as the sun was setting and spent time at the White House as well as the all the memorials in the National Mall. Do not waste your money! We were extremely disappointed by the entire experience. The "bus" was a van in disrepair, with non-working seatbelts, jagged metal sticking up to rip your clothes, dirty small windows we couldn't see out of, and absolutely no ventilation. We became very anxious because of the lack of ventilation during Covid. Our driver dumped us off at the Capitol, and we didn't hear him say he was picking us up somewhere different. When we found him, he chewed us out. We decided to get off the tour at the next stop, and in those blocks were subjected to a monologue about Benjamin Franklin's male member. We didn't receive the tour we paid for, and advised the owner. He admitted in a text he sent the little dirty van instead of the advertised bus because it was a small group. He also blew up my phone with alleged rave reviews from every other person on our tour. It's doubtful they were legit, because they were exact quotes from our driver, and directly contradicted what we heard our fellow passengers say verbally on the tour. He did offer to give us a complimentary day tour, but the reason we chose a night tour originally was our days were already fully-booked, so we requested a refund multiple times. I really wish we'd saved our money and hired one of our fantastic Uber drivers to take us on a tour instead! read more

Maybe I should give this a 2 Star but I want to make sure that you as the reader don not make a mistake and take this tour. Over the years I have been on 3 different tours. This one was by FAR the worst and the price is about the same for all three. We chose this tour because it picked up at our hotel (and because the bell man pushed us towards this one). Lloyd, our tour leader was the only positive. And he was only average at best! The bus absolutely sucked. Uncomfortable, noisy and had poor sightseeing abilities. When it picked us up I really thought it was our shuttle to the "real" bus!! This is probably one of the best tours I've taken of Washington DC. As a DC native, I always bring friends and family visiting out of town for this tour. The tour guide was very informative and let us take our time at the various sights. There was so much to take in! The buses were clean and well ventilated. There was plenty of room in the seats and I had no problem seeing from the windows, which were very clean. The tour guide's accent was easy to understand and proved very important to my family members. Since they live overseas, they could understand the guide's accent as he was not too fast and not too slow. The guide was able to provide relevant information pertaining to the various monuments and museums. What a sham and the only blemish on DC trip. What a complete let down of a tour business. To start, we arrived early as we had pre-purchased our tickets online and they told us to get onto the shuttle after we made sure there was enough room for the 5 of us ($250 total). The first step (rusted and flimsy) onto the shuttle should have been out first indication of events to come. As we got in we noticed everyone sweating. The AC motor was running but not cooling. After I said something to the guide he said he would shut the door and that would help...it did not. The bus was filthy, old and not maintained well at all. The tour was supposed to start at 7:30pm and at 7:35 they started checking tickets and then selling tickets to those that had not not pre-purchased...wait what? Shouldn't that have been done prior to letting people on and the departure time??? So after sitting on this joke of a shuttle sweating our butts off we finally depart...20min after we were supposed to. First (and last) stop was the Capitol building where the guide spoke for about 10min and then said we had 10-15min to get off and take pictures. At this point our group of 5 decided that this was not what we had signed up for and decided not to continue. We approached the guide and told him we were very disappointed in our experience and wanted a refund. He refused and said that we could call the number on the bus if we wanted. We called the number, which happened to be the driver on the other bus, and explained the situation. Again, no offer to refund only that we could take another tour on a different bus. They all but admitted the shuttle we were on was not up to par. We ended up using Uber to take in some of the monuments at night and ended up running into both of the companies buses later. I spoke to both of them explaining how poorly they had handled the situation. They flat out accused another member of our group for causing the problem. Needless to say that we wasted $250 with this group. Save your money and either find a more reputable company or use Uber/Lyft to checkout the sights. Stay far, far away from this sham of a company. This was he only blemish to an otherwise awesome weekend in the Capitol city. read more

Our guide was specific about how long each stop was and what we had time to do on each stop. This is not a great tour. I took the tour with my family, who was visiting from out of town (they picked it). The tour bus was small and cramped with poor ventilation and windows that weren't very easy to see out of. The driver uses a hand-held mic to narrate as he drives. Multi-tasking in DC traffic is a problem, especially because at some points he just stopped in the middle of the street. We were traveling down Pennsylvania Avenue at about 5-10 mph and then he'd just stop--no intersection or light or anything--just so he could point something out. In the middle of traffic. I can only imagine what the cars behind us were thinking The guide was okay. He was personable and sometimes entertaining, but he got things wrong...a lot of things wrong. Maybe out-of-town tourists don't realize what he's getting wrong, but I live here. Air Force One does not land on the White House lawn. Oklahoma City did not happen after 9/11. George Mason wouldn't sign the Constitution, not the Declaration of Independence. Sure, some of that's maybe just misspeaking, but part of the problem is he's doing too many things at once--including taking random personal phone calls in the middle of explaining something. The tour was also WAY behind. Because people were routinely late back to the bus, it dragged the time off. But then, at the end, he went WAY out of his way to drop some ladies off at their hotel. Nice of him, maybe, but that meant that we got back to the Hyatt closer to 3pm and got stuck in the Friday rush hour out of the city. The bottom line is you don't need this. If you're on a budget, you're better off grabbing a taxi or ride share to drop you off at the various monuments (if you can't walk them) and just letting the national parks people (who actually know what they're talking about) give you a free overview. If you really want to do a tour, maybe try something that is more a hop-on/hop-off type, so you actually have time to wander and see everything. read more

We took a night tour of DC and had a fabulous time! Dr. Ali was a great guide and the tour is set up to give a great overview of the city. Touring at night gave us a chance to be at the locations while they were less crowded. There were some stops where we were the only people there and at others, there were other people and tour groups, but nowhere near what there would be in the daytime. I recommend doing a night tour if you can. Having a more peaceful experience at the sites more than made up for the fact it was dark. The bus was clean and comfortable. I wish I actually got to take the tour. I bought a Groupon on over 2 months ago. When I called to schedule my tour for myself and my son, the owner was extremely rude. He refused to allow me to book saying it was full although online availability showed 88 spots available . When I mentioned that he yelled at me and told me he would not honor the Groupon . In fact he's the only reasoning gave this company 3 stars, and I would have given 4 stars if we hadn't had the other problems... Bad... We got the brochure for the company from our hotel. When we called to make a reservation we were told to book online. We thought...ok, whatever, so we scheduled online. Both the brochure and website said to meet in front of the Hyatt, but never mentioned that there is NO parking ANYWHERE, or we might have taken a taxi. My mother sister and I took this tour because it was a brochure in the hotel lobby. We took the $25 night tour which is the same tour priced at $49(if you go to the Hyatt it is cheaper). The bus was older than expected and the air was out. It was a bit unorganized with who paid and who didn't. Lloyd the tour guide/driver was good, he was entertaining and informative. He even gave is his phone number in case we were going to get back to the bus late. What an awful experience. We were promised a pickup at our hotel, but instead he didn't show. Reached by phone, he claimed to be running late. Don't take a tour with this company. I was charged twice and didn't realize it until I got my credit card statement. What a hassle! The tour started 30 minutes late and not all sites were visited because of the lateness of the tour. They also dropped my family off at the wrong Metro stop so I had to find them on the Metro! I wouldn't recomended any one this tour. I didn't find people who run this business to be professional or friendly. I booked this trip from groupon and at list I didn't pay full price for my family. When we ask for right direction for the start tour location we got offer to be picked up at Metro. When we was picked the man yell at us because I didn't mention Groupon purchase. He drop us off by the buss. A filthy looking driver wasn't look friendly at all and told us go on the back of the buss because he had assign seat. We say Hello to every one else, but no one say a word and it looks no one was happy. We spent no more than half hour on the buss: the tour went already to White house and Capitol. We had one quick self guided tour and on the second stop we got off. I couldn't take the aggravation on sitting on the buss where I couldn't hear a thing. My husband and I went on the tour with Ali on December 25th. From the moment he picked us up, he showed great knowledge of DC. We were the only ones on the tour, which was nice. This company failed to pick us up for our Washington After Dark at our hotel. They did not have the decency to call us. We waited and when they were 20 minutes late we called and they said they would not pick us up and that we could take a cab to a hotel 6 miles away. I am giving this five stars for what I paid for. I did the #19 special tour that took four hours and included all the main stops (you can check them out on their website) for only $25. It was perfect for $25. I'm not sure if all these one star ratings are from individuals who paid a discount and then were expecting to receive a $100 tour. Our guide Ali was great and informative, the van was SAFE and COOL AND COMFORTABLE. A chill easy $25 to see some sites in D.C. Dirty filthy buses. They made us change buses once. It was no better. A mini bus took us back to the hotel. When I put my arm on the arm rest the entire side panel came off. The driver looked he rolled right out of bed. He seemed to know a good bit but was rather surly. We took the DC day tour on 4/26/2015. Thomas was our driver and tour guide. He was excellent with his information. There were only 9 people on the tour which made it really nice. The bus was clean and comfortable. Had plenty of time at most of the stops. The Lincoln Memorial was very crowded could have used a little more time there. Thomas was very forgiving and waited on us . We were scheduled to take the night tour but it rained so we were able to swap it for the day tour. I thank Ali for that. Worst Tour I have ever been on. 9-7-12 I was picked up late by a van driver who drove so rough that my wife was car sick and I was tired. Note I am a race car driver, but he had more throttle and brake going in stop and go traffic when you could not even move. On the freeway when everyone else was going 55 we were only going 40 creating a hazard. Once on the bus our driver was fair, his knowledge was minimal, I didn't like look over your left shoulder and back to see the Capitol building. When we stopped we had to walk through the mud that way to see the back of the White House. So as we drove he would point out 2/3 of the buildings we were promised on the brochure, skipped the other 1/3. He stayed on the bus and made us walk (unguided) for all the monuments he stopped at, again 2/3 of the ones we were suppose to on the brochure. This was the first tour I have been on that I was glad when it was over. It was over in 2 hours 40 minuets. The brochure said 3-4 hour tour. We only saw 2/3 of the promised stuff. We fended for ourselves at the different locations moving in on other tours who had proper guides to hear the points of interest and history. Don't spend your money with this tour.
