My husband found out about Rob's tours through YouTube. At first I was a little skeptical (as one should be for finding things on YouTube) but once I watch a few of his videos I could see why my husband thought it was a good idea to book him as our tour guide! The monuments tour at night was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! We both learned so much about the history of the monuments not to mentions the nightly views were amazing. This was our first family trip to Washington DC. My parents, sister, and I spent a couple of days in DC before heading over to Virginia for a family get together. While researching about DC, my mom sent me a YouTube video of Rob from Trip Hacks DC. I ended up watching most of his videos, and decided to contact him about a private tour through their website. Originally, we wanted to check out his Monuments at Twilight Tour, but we ended up booking the Cherry Blossom Bonanza Tour instead. When my family and I headed over to the meeting spot at the Jefferson Memorial using the DC Circulator, we hit the crazy DC rush hour traffic. At that time the Nationals game had ended, it was Spring Break, and people were heading back home from work. We ended up getting off at the Washington Monument and walked to the Jefferson Memorial. I was able to contact Rob to let him know of our delay, and he was gracious enough to wait for us. The private tour was definitely worth it. Rob was able to bring the monuments to life for us. We learned a lot and he was able to answer many of our questions. He was a good resource for where to take good photos for your social media outlets. Since we weren't able to cover all the monuments during our tour, he was kind enough to show us where to go next on our own. Rob is a true professional. I did the Monuments guided tour and it was worth every penny. As a self-proclaimed history buff, I already knew a few things that were being explained on the tour. But our guide had such an in-depth knowledge of the monuments, from what the symbolism is of a particular monument to what the process was behind the scenes of building that monument. The Monuments at Night Trivia Tour was our first tour when my family of 3 landed in DC. Even though it was a super hot July night, Rob prepared us with a detailed email before the tour so we came prepared with plenty of water. Rob's tour was super interesting and incredibly knowledgeable. I've seen most of the monuments in the past, but his trivia was insightful and challenging. Would definitely recommend taking any of his tours if you're interested in getting to know a full scope of history, symbolism and appreciation of all the monuments. We spent a week in DC and Rob's Monuments Night Tour was the highlight of our trip. The three hours with Rob was very informative and he provided not only the history of the Monuments but how the monuments were built and how the design was selected. Rob also knew the best place for photo opts. You may want to consider wearing comfortable shoes because you will do a lot of walking. Don't worry, there are a few rest stops with restroom along the Monuments. Since we had 3 people in our group, the tour was very interactive and fun. We did have some concerns about the weather since it predicted 80% chance of rain, but Rob was very responsive and helpful -- best to email Rob with any concerns regarding the tour. Luckily, the rain never came, To be honest, we would have never selected Rob if he had NOT produced any travel video tips to Washington DC. My family and I took the 2-hour evening private tour of the monuments with Rob after having discovered him through his Trip Hacks DC videos with tips on visiting DC on Youtube. Search for Trip Hacks DC (so worth the look!). My experience with Rob was superb from beginning to end! The sign up to pick the tour on his website was simple. His email confirmations and related communications was the right amount. He even included a photo of the exact meeting location. Rob's narrative at each monument really brought each site to life. We went to DC for a mother and sons vacation last month. My 18 year old had found Rob on YouTube while looking for tips on how to see DC. I have seen the monuments during the day on a previous trip but had no idea how amazing they look all lit up a night. I went on the tour with my family on a warm night in October. The great thing was, it wasn't crazy crowded. Our tour guide Rob was an encyclopedia of information. I learned so much about DC and the monuments that I would have missed if it weren't for Rob. We met Rob on what he said would be the busiest day of 2018 which was Friday 4/6...the day after they declared the Cherry Blossoms were at peak. And boy were they!
