Rooster was our driver and he was AWESOME!!! Very knowledgeable of the DC tour. He was kind, helpful and answered all our questions with the biggest smile. Genuinely seemed to love his job and the people who road his trolley. Take this tour and ride with Rooster!!! read more

Took the Monuments by Moonlight Tour. Our tour operator was MJ and I can honestly say that he was AMAZING. He was very informative and knowledgeable. He literally commented on everything we drove past. He presented well with interesting facts and just the right touch of humor to keep us all engaged. It was HOT all week, but the weather that evening was perfect. What a beautiful way to see the sights. The trolley was stadium seating and everyone had a great view. I sat on the driver's side and felt I had a great viewpoint to see most everything without obstruction. There were three stops. MJ gave clear instructions on when to be back on the trolley. The timeframe for the stops was short (the total tour was about 2 hours) but just long enough to see the attractions at each stop. What a great tour! read more

I booked directly from their website. Due to time constraints, I was able to change the tour date up to the day of the tour. With the amount of secret service activities, I'm sure the company understands the amount of time and brain power required to maneuver families around the city. We booked Arlington with the old town trolley tour. We combined the old trolley and Arlington tour. However, the website allows you to book separate dates for the 2 tours. Before you go on the tour, use the map trolley tracker to plan and track trolley live. It acts like a map and will guide you to the various stops. If you're driving, make sure to choose a stop and find the public parking closest to that area in order to return to your car after the tour. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. The old time trolley will not drive you into Arlington. It will drop you at A1 spot to catch the Arlington trolley. Check the map consistently due to road closures. Other than that, I highly recommend you do this tour with the Arlington tour if you're tight on time in DC. Get off at strategic spot, see what you need to see, and move onto the next. From my observation, the trolley is not really wheelchair accessible. Person should be able to hop on and off without much assistance. There are other tour companies out there that might be better accommodating read more

It couldnt have been easier to get on and off. The drivers/guides were fantastic with each one sharing a wealth of information and sharing different anecdotes. Theur driving skills were phenomenal in the D.C. traffic while all the while narrating! We enjoyed it tremendously and would do it again! read more

Staff was great. Amy was helpful at the #13 stop. Our first driver (older woman with short reddish hair) was friendly and knowledgeable. Our second driver, Quante, was very personalable and knowledgeable. He even stepped down to point out a walking route for us. Stops were well placed and perfect to explore all major monuments and historical sites. We had 2 disappointments: 1. Because there was a run through the streets, a few stops weren't available and the tour started hours late, losing valuable site seeing time. The trolleys did not run late to make up for this. 2. Our first driver literally only took us one stop before all passengers had to get off and transfer to another trolley. Luckily, one was there and we didn't have to wait and lose additional time! read more

Rashad was our driver/guide. He was well informed, engaging and we thoroughly enjoyed his tour. Highly recommend.

Pleasant employees, willing to answer questions, and very knowledgeable , Cost was worth it, not knowing our way around this made it easier to get around the city, and site see at our pace read more

Took the Old Town Trolley Tour during the Cherry Blossom Festival, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. A bit on the pricey side, but you do get to see a lot. Almost $190 for 2 adults and 1 child. (They start charging adult price at age 13.) Our tour guide was fun! Super knowledgeable about DC's history and landmarks, and kept things entertaining the entire time. They also deserve major credit for skillfully navigating all the traffic and crowds during peak cherry blossom season, which is no small task. It was a great way to see the city without the stress of figuring out transportation during such a busy time. If you're visiting during the festival and want something easy, informative, and fun, this is definitely worth considering. read more

I would like to update my review. After leaving a one star review, the business owner did reach out to me and made me aware of their 100% satisfaction guarantee. Because of this, I did follow the instructions and submitted a refund request. They reviewed my request and offered me a 100% refund within days. While the tour didn't work as planned, they did stand behind guarantee and made it right. Kudos to them. read more

Excellent tour guide. Knowledgeable enthusiastic funny made everyone feel comfortable.

Had a great time. Got picked up at our hotel and taken to the starting point. Driver gave us so much history about DC. I would certainly do it again. I felt bad for our driver as there were a few rude people along the way. He handled it well and all was good. read more

My first time to DC and the tour was awesome. They bring you to lots of spots which saves us time because it would take us much longer if we drove. You don't get very much time at each location however so try to rush taking pictures and what not. read more

I only had one day to explore DC. After the White House tour I scheduled months prior, I walked around a bit and realized how far many of the monuments and memorials are from each other. I would've rented a bike or scooter, but I was with a friend who couldn't ride either, so we looked into these buses cruising around. What we liked about Old Town Trolley is that they allow you to hop off at any of the 14 major attraction stops, and the next trolley runs about every 15 to 20 minutes from 9 AM till 4 PM. The entire tour without getting off is about 90 minutes. They also have night tours which I've heard are pretty good. I also liked that the drivers provide live narration with a great sense of humor! Each driver seems to have their own style in story telling, but they are very informative. They have a tip jar, but I didn't have cash on me. I asked the driver if he had Venmo or some type of cash app and he didn't! *Suggestion for the manager reading these reviews: have the tour drivers set up other methods of receiving tip other than cash! We got our 1-day ticket for about $50 at the Welcome Center, but prices may vary depending on deals and where you purchase them. I believe they have 3-day passes as well for those who wish to spend longer periods of time at the stops. It can get pretty chilly with the open windows, so bundle up during the colder months! read more

The tour guides we had were good, informative and fun. The only issue we had was getting someone who had a wheelchair on to a trolley at stops. At the Lincoln memorial, we had a ton of people rush on ahead of us making no room for our wheelchair to get on. The driver was extremely rude to us when we asked when the next accessible trolley would be available. After asking three times, getting no answer, he rudely told us to back up, he had to go. If you have anyone in your group who is dependent on a wheelchair, this is not the trolley service for you. read more

We took the Moonlight Tour tonight. We had a great, funny driver guide named MJ. He was excellent!! We toured the city saw the monuments with a stop at FDR/MLK, Iwo Jima and Lincoln Memorial. This is a great experience and I highly recommend it. The drivers are very knowledgeable about the city and you hit the right spots.

Old Town Trolley night tour I think I the best. Make sure you get on MJ's Trolley. From the get go, he has you laughing. Very well informed, knows just about every thing about the city. He took us all around the area to all the major sights, and stopped at 4, Martin Luther King, FDR, Lincoln, and Iwo Jima at Arlington cemetery. If MJ did not have a answer about something he would put his hand in the Air and tell it like it is " I ..Don't... Know " I give the tour 5 stars l give him 10 stars. He made the tour well worth the 60.00 I paid. read more

We took the Monuments by Moonlight tour. My husband bought tickets through viator. Buckeye was our driver and guide. He was fantastic. Very informative and pleasant. No political commentary or yuk-yuk jokes. (Maybe one but it was funny). We went to three stops - 1. FDR and MLK ; 2. Lincoln / Korean/vietnam ; and 3. WW II. Buckeye told us about the buildings along the way. He had to improvise the route due to traffic and other events. My only issue was it was COLD. Can't control the weather. read more

I was a guest on a Monuments at Midnight tour with my two work colleagues and I was blown away at this experience. My friend who bought the tickets was able to buy them through our hotel which was an added convenience. Our tour guide, Jace, was the most knowledgeable tour guide I've ever experienced in my travels. He was so detailed, thoughtful, passionate and educated on all things DC. I really appreciated how he kept he trip entertaining even as the hours grew late. Jace's narration was funny, witty, and filled with fun facts I never have heard before. I would definitely book again with this company and hope to get on Jace's bus next time. read more

Took the Monuments by Moonlight tour through Old Towne Trolley. It was fantastic. Our driver MJ was beyond awesome. His knowledge of DC and the monuments as well as his personality made it the best tour we've ever taken. Seeing the monuments at night is completely different than during the day. The only good thing I can say about these tours is that Ricky is funny, kind and helpful. Other then that, this service is a HUGE joke. If you want to spend most of your day waiting at trolley stops, only for ALL of them to arrive full. They oversell. And when you contact them by phone, they make excuses and then put you on hold and never come back. Don't waste your money. read more

Driver was rude. Cut the tour short. Did not tell us she wasn't going to do a full circle tour. Made us get off 2 stop away - had to walk 95 degrees out. Then she drove straight to my stop anyways. Terrible experience and it was mean. I'm handcapoed and she content care less, read more

In our many travels to big cities, my husband and I typically take a tour of the city. In the past, we have used the double-decker Big Bus Tours, but we were able to find a better deal with Old Town Trolley in our recent trip to Washington D.C. We were extremely pleased with our experience. The company communicated thoroughly before the experience. The staff was friendly and organized upon our arrival for the tour. Our bus driver known as the "Lollypop Driver" or "Cowboy" was amazing. He was engaging and informative! I would highly recommend using Old Town Trolley Tours! read more

We went on the day tour and the night tour. Day tour was not the best but not because of anything the driver or the company did, all the streets were blocked and we couldn't get off at any of the stops. Would definitely recommend doing this if you ever come to DC read more

I heard about the Monuments by Moonlight Tour through the JW Marriott hotel. When I checked in, they recommended taking the trip to see the highlights of D.C in just a couple of hours. Since I was only staying for a few nights, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it out. Given that I took this tour in the winter, it was inevitable that the trolley would be freezing cold. There are curtains inside that you can use to cover the windows, but you feel awkward having to ask other people near you if it's okay to bring them down since they obscure your view and picture-taking. But, we didn't resort to that until the very end of the tour. I suggest you bundle up nicely, with a puffy coat, hat and all to be safe. However, the cold didn't disturb my enjoyment of this trip, mostly thanks to our amazing tour guide. I'll never forget MJ and his clever wit guiding us through D.C, presenting many locations that held American history. I loved how organized he was with our group as well. It's stressed that we are allowed to get off at three stops, but we should never steal someone else's seat, and if we want to depart from the trip for any reason, then we must let him know. That's great to lessen any chaos that could come from the tour, and I appreciated how he repeated those rules throughout the evening. I'd recommend this to anyone who has a brief stay in D.C and wants to see the best of the area as quickly as possible. But, it can easily be a joy for anyone else to join on this excursion, as long as they are ready to take lots of pictures and listen in on some fun facts from a charming guide. You may not have MJ when it's your turn to visit, but I'm confident the other guides are just as good. read more
