He can't walk very far, so I found Nonpartisan pedi-cab, read the great reviews, and booked it. It was absolutely wonderful!! We got to see every single monument much closer than any other tour right from the cab, but were able to get in and out at our leisure. It was so great to get a tour so customized to our needs. Robert was so very knowledgeable about the history and little details of each monument that we would never have known or noticed on our own. And he spoke loudly and clearly- so important! Robert was responsive every step of the way during our planning-answering questions promptly and giving suggestions for our trip. (ie-he suggested that, while we were all three (med-lg adults) welcome to ride, we might be more comfortable renting a bike from the nearby rack. It worked perfectly!) This tour was the highlight of my Dad's visit and I would wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone as the absolute best way to see the DC monuments!

We booked 2 pedicabs and were picked up from our hotel and my parents could pick what they wanted to see. Our tour lasted 4 hours and my dad (who is a Vietnam Veteran) had the chance to see the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. We also went by the courthouse that they got married at. Kevin and Read were very knowledgeable about the history of the city and we had so much fun with them. Traveling with elderly parents can be challenging and this tour made it so easy and enjoyable for everyone. I would highly recommend this tour as it's a relaxing way to see all that Washington DC has to offer.

He took us to all the expected stops, but made sure we got to see some of the lesser known memorials and monuments in the area like the one for John Paul Jones, George Mason and Albert Einstein. Besides taking in the gorgeous view of DC at dusk, I spent the entire time in awe of how much information our driver knew about each of the monuments. Did you know that FDR actually requested a very simple memorial - not the huge multi-acre one that we associate with him today? The original one is a stone the size of his desk in front of the National Archives. I had no idea! This is definitely my new favorite way to explore a city. Highly recommend.

We signed up for the electric scooter tour (mostly at my behest - because I love them so:). My girl and I were a party of two, and we joined a party of 3 (mom and two girls) for a run ride out on the town. First, we met at the bike shop, where all the scooters and accommodations had been taken care of ahead of time. The shop is conveniently located by this quiet alley, where Barry gave us an overview of the trip, discussed any special considerations, went over relevant safety stuff, and let everyone practice and get comfortable on the scooters (in the safety of that quiet alley). All with a GREAT sense of humor and a smile. It was enough to put even that nervous mother at ease with her girls. (I'm not sure if I had more fun watching him at work with the family, or actually seeing the sites along the tour - haha!). He throws in a couple of bonus gems and things along the way. My guess is that every one of his tours is a little bit different from the ones before it. Then we went and did all the things. I think we were gone for a couple of hours total. I loved it. I'm not sure why, but the whole time, I was in just such a good mood. Thank you Barry, for bringing the joy to the ride. From the bottom of my heart, we are all still smiling. Thank you for such a fun and simple, safe, silly, and memorable experience. We loved it!!

I don't need him to talk to me but when I take other buses, usually they at least greet the passengers. Not this guy! The bus itself isn't even that comfy. I had always heard such good things about this bus, but not sure I can say anything good about my experience. It's cheap and they made a brief reststop break (15 minutes) in Delaware. Anyway, the bus is freezing cold and I thought maybe it just takes awhile to warm up. Hours later and not any better. It's literally 20 degrees outside so heat is needed on here! Someone went up to ask the driver about turning up the heat. He ignored her and mumbled something about it's having technical issues. Smh! As I said, I'm DONE! DC to NY on 5/31/11…read more This is an honest review with both good & bad. The Bad: 1) Upon arrival at Union station there were 3 lines to get on the bus. A,B,C none which were marked. A was let on followed by B in an orderly fashion but C was a Free-For-All which sucked if u got there early & had someone in the back just run up ahead of you. 2) Not all seats have outlets OR footrests. You will need these footrests as the leather seats have a slight downward slope to them which was extremely uncomfortable causing you to edge forward. We had neither convenience in our seat row. 3) Nothing was shown on the TV's 4) Bathroom had no light at all. 5) getting luggage off is another Free-For-All 6) There was no rest stop to use a proper restroom or stretch your legs. The Good: 1) Allowed to show confirmation via smartphone. 2) AC was comfortable 3) Bus appeared clean & relatively new. 4) Seats are reclinable and armrests lift although there is zero lumbar support on the Leather Seats 5) Overhead storage wasn't bad. 6) Back of seat has drink holder 7) FREE WiFi if you can get it to work. 8) Price was good for what you get Overall Verdict, worth the $ if you know where to sit & are prepared. My personal experience is why I gave a 3 star. If we had gotten a good seat it might have been four. The zero light in the bathroom & unorganized boarding process would still make it only four stars. Check my pictures I uploaded some of the back of the seats as well as what the NYC drop off point looks like.

Let's get into it. Very small - perfect for solo or couple short stays. I am a minimalist so it was right up my alley. The space, although small, had everything you need and the creative storage spaces was ingenious. Fresh smell throughout the hotel and room and carpeted hallway relatively quiet. Comfy beds! Sound - my room was on the 11th floor facing the street and construction but there were ear plugs and a sound diffuser. Again, great idea and worked perfectly but it wasn't much of a busy night so it worked out. Location - perfect... parking can be added to the hotel reservation with in/out privileges. Parking garage elevator leads you to inside the arena so you avoid the madness outside. Easy in and easy out. Around the block from the arena so super convenient. Amenities - the bar area was bustling but I did not partake. Only aspect of the room that is just a personal preference of mine..... no carpet, wooden floors. Not much floor space either way it was not a deal breaker. Motto has definitely found a friend in me!!!

I was very disappointed when I arrived at my DC "Fat Tire" bike tour. I have been on Fat Tire…read moretours before and all of their bikes are street cruisers that are super comfortable and easy to ride. When we pulled up it was clear that this was not an actual fat tire tour. Fat Tire as partnered with a local existing bike company called "Bikes Unlimited". To make sure that I got a tag-a-long for my youngest, as I know those go faster, I reached out to to fat tire customer support for instructions since I didn't see the option at check out. They advised that I put that in the notes section of the reservation. Bikes Unlimited informed me when we got there that they don't even see these notes. The only bike they had that would fit me and pull a tag-a-long was a men's mountain bike. The bar on the bike was so high that it was up my butt when I had my feet on the ground but the bike was overall too small for me when riding because the seat had to be low so I could touch the ground with the high bar. The seat was rock hard and I tweaked my back from being bent in half. I had been expecting a road cruiser they advertise on the fat tire website so riding around on a mountain bike that was both too big and too small was a bit of a disappointment. They did have cruiser style bikes that my other family members were able to use but they did not have a way to connect those to a tag-a-long. All of the other people in our tour were on standard type mountain bikes and not fat tire cruiser type bikes. Also when I reached out to the customer service line there was not option for US tours. This is because this is not a US Fat Tire Tour. This is some sort of agreement where the Bike's Unlimited Company is paying Fat Tire to be listed on their website as a Fat Tire tour. So I could not even reach the company to let them know we had gotten lost and would be there shortly when we were running behind. All that said, our tour guide was great and aside from being uncomfortable the bike tour was a great way to see all the monuments. It looks like it was also a little cheaper to book with kids via fat tire. I recommend you check out the bikes unlimited website to understand what types of bikes they have and then call them directly if you have issues or want to make sure to reserve a specific type of bike in advance. If you need a tag-a-long make sure to bring a tall person with a good back who can ride a mountain bike and you should be fine. Had I known ahead of time what to expect might not have been so disappointed with my overall experience. Starting out stressed and frustrated sort of soured the whole experience.

Bait and Switch / Misrepresentation of Tours vs. what is received / affiliate company is…read morenon-accountable Fat Tire Tours DOES NOT OPERATE the DC bike tours. Their affiliate "Unlimited Biking" does and as a result, the Integrity, Professionalism, and Experience you are used to from a Fat Tire- run tour is absent from the unaccountable, dishonest, and unfriendly staff that Unlimited Biking provides. After showing up to check in ahead of our 10:30 AM tour time today, we were told what we booked is not what we would be receiving. When asked if we could receive what was represented on the websites, we were told no. No refund was offered - a classic bait-and-switch. On July 11, we booked the "Best of DC Electric Bike Tour" on the FatTireTours website for $79 each X 4. What was supposed to be a 3.5 hour tour, ended up being 2.5 hours. For this tour, the description says " Our electric bike tours operate in groups of a maximum of 8 people", however there were 14 people on our tour. The description indicates that we would be seeing the Library of Congress, Supreme Court, Union Station, The Jefferson Memorial, and the Tidal Basin. None of attractions were on our tour. The description also represents that we will be making a "Brief stop for lunch", however this did not happen either. Most importantly, the representation of this particular tour was that it would be an "Electric Bike Tour". In fact, the description of the tour boasts " No other tour on our menu covers as many sites as this one!". But instead, we were on a regular tour, with regular bike riders. We were given Electric Bikes, but since all the other riders on the tour had regular bikes, we could not take advantage of the benefits of the electric bikes. We spent the majority of the time, coasting, or braking while we waited for children on the rest of the tour on their non-electric bikes to keep up the pace. The tour was slow and we saw less. When I asked for the tour that we paid for, Emily M said "you are getting an "Electric Bike Tour....you are on a bike Tour and you have Electric Bikes", ignoring the fact that all other representations on both Fat Tire and Unlimited Biking websites clearly differentiate the Electric Bike Tours from all other tours. Subjectively adjusting the English language to defensively tell me, the customer, that I was incorrect, is a disgrace to customer service. At the end of the tour, Emily said "I understand there was a miscommunication on the Fat Tire Website that hasn't been updated" and offered us TO PAY MORE to take the 6:30 PM tour for half-price. When I asked for a refund, she refused, saying that it's a third-party mistake. When I told her the description on the Unlimited Biking website says all the same things in the description of the Electric Bike Tour, she said "oh, we'll have to look into that" and ended the conversation. For your reference, here are the representations of each tour made on your respective websites; neither of which is what we received today. https://www.unlimitedbiking.com/tours/monumental-electric-bike-tour/ https://www.fattiretours.com/washington-dc/tours/best-of-dc-electric-bike-tour
