We were able to see sites on narrow historic streets; UA has 6-seat electric golf cart type vehicles. Other tour busses and trolleys simply can't maneuver those parts of the city! Mike was personable, friendly and knew so much! I have a masters in history and I was fully impressed with his wealth of knowledge and interesting anecdotes. You specifically told us to meet you at 10 and gave us a specific address which turned out to be the labor department. We waited there as planned. At 955 I called you to tell you we were there. You said you assumed we had cancelled because of the rain and you went home. We didn't cancel and you didn't call us to check. I asked you why you didn't call us to verify and you said yes I should have. That was it. I never demanded any service and the call was very brief. Now you say I'm harassing you and having a breakdown and that we never had a plan when you know that's not true. I'm only continuing to reply because you're not telling the truth.

Knowing we only had less than 2 days to tour the monuments, in addition to the fact that my mother in her older age doesn't have as many steps in her as she used to - I was trying to get creative with our schedule to make the most of our time. A quick google search helped me land on this company. I always forget that the monuments in DC are quite spread out. Being on a bike is definitely your best option. I emailed the company on a Tuesday night before our trip and had a response immediately the next morning. Our guide Robert was very thorough, friendly, and flexible with our schedule. He also gave us a great suggestion to skip the Air and Space museum as part of it was under construction. He definitely knows DC quite well. He met us on the tail end of our visit at the Natural History museum and over the course of 3 hours we were able to see the Washington monument, Jefferson memorial, Mason memorial, MLK, Lincoln, Korean War, Vietnam War, and finally ended near the White House. We also would have had time for one more if we didn't take a break for lunch. Highly highly recommend this if your needs are similar to what I described above. When we went to book online we had issues but called the number for assistance. The gentlemen we spoke with was SUPER helpful, patient and friendly! We met at the designated site and the drivers were all on time. Joel, our guide was phenomenal. I wish I could remember his name but I do remember he was Portuguese and said his name was Joel. He was extremely informative on so many facts about DC and the United States. He was also hilarious. He kept the tour very interesting by discussing so many details about all the monuments. It wasn't overwhelming where you couldn't enjoy the time either. I also didn't feel that he put any pressure on anyone as far as making it back on time. I will give credit to the male guide for trying to hustle us in quickly while he passive aggressively informed us that the carts would be in tandem so being split up would be no big deal. My son is extremely shy and we were looking forward to spending quality time together on the tour that we paid almost $150 for. In my book, that was not acceptable especially without any forewarning that being split from my family member, no less a young teen ,may be the case. On top of the fact that every other person there were seated with their party. He said he would issue me a refund and it should go back in 2-5 business days. And then to put insult to injury asked my son if he was going to cry as we parted ways. How the heck is that an appropriate thing to say given that this was completely not his fault. Cancelling the tour we looked forward to for weeks was already disappointing enough but to make a remark like that instead of simply apologizing was insulting. Please retrain your guides in customer service and appropriate communication. This was not it. 1 week later, I received an email this morning saying they are not able to issue me a refund even after their own tour guide told me he would. THIS IS NO BETTER THAN A SCAM who doesn't care about people. What a joke and huge con artists.

5 Stars - Best way to see DC at night! We did a 2-hour…read moreevening monuments tour with Nonpartisan Pedicab on June 23 and it was outstanding. Rob and Don were excellent. They responded super fast when we asked to move our pickup up an hour after we finished dinner early, and they made it happen without any problem. Rob even spoke some Mandarin, which was a huge help for our nearly 80-year-old grandma who doesn't speak much English. Their history knowledge is fantastic and they customized everything to what our group wanted to see. The weather was perfect that night, and the ride felt magical. We got to spend extra time at the spots we loved, and they even let us take extra time at the Lincoln Memorial at the end without charging us more -- such a kind touch (we offered to pay but they wouldn't take it). Smooth navigation, never rushed, thoughtful (they even brought a blanket just in case), and genuinely enjoyable for every generation in our group. This is by far the best and most flexible way to see the monuments up close. We had an amazing time and will 100% book them again next time we're in DC. Highly, highly recommend!

When we got to the first exhibit, she said she didn't know where the lighting was or how it would look. When we asked about the GLOW experience, she said, "Oh, I guess it was false advertising." We left the tour and plan to go back later on our own when it's dark.

Since I live in northern Virginia, I have been able to take many tours of Arlington Cemetery by many companies, but this tour was completely unique. Brenda, our tour guide, did an amazing job of explaining the deep connection of Arlington Cemetery to World War I, the birth of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, why the Tomb is guarded, 24-7, General Robert Pershing, and it was all fantastic, but she also showed us the Gravesite of James Reese Europe, the African American pre-Jazz great who fought for and was injured with the Fighting 369th, nicknamed the Harlem Hellcats. Possible the most amazing story was that of fellow Fighting 369th member Henry Johnson who single handedly took on 20 German Fighters and won, saving the life of his partner who had been injured. I highly recommend this tour, even if you have already gone on tours of Arlington Cemetery. It will show you a side of our military history that most tours miss!

The food stops were all locally owned restaurants and the food was delicious. Our guides kept us entertained as they educated us about the history of the area while mixing in enough food stops to keep everyone happy. They answered lots of questions and we walked enough to work off some of the calories we consumed.

It was the perfect balance of walking around the neighborhood and eating good food while sitting and resting. They pay full price for the food at each stop and even give a 20% tip. Each stop gives a full portion so come hungry and ready to learn. 2) Guide: We had Jim and he was the perfect balance of personable, interesting, knowledgeable, and passionate. He clearly knows the city well and is a foodie himself. He did an excellent job of teaching this local some new facts and giving tourists a more holistic view of Washington, D.C. 3) Mission: The company is local and gives back to a non-profit called Bread for the City with every tour ticket purchased. If you want to explore the city while enjoying good local food, I can't recommend Blue Fern Travel enough!
