Go-to for takeout. A lot of great, fresh food for a good price.

This is by far the best ZK Grill of the few left. We drive out of the way to come here. The one that was close to our area closed due to bad management. This location is clean, friendly service and tasty food. We have a few small mideastern places near us that are over rated by people who have no experience with authentic middle eastern food. We are French Lebanese and have lived throughout the middle east and grew up eating authentic styles from different regions. This is the better of most all of the others here in AZ. I won't mention names of a few up north that have gone down hill and are over priced and tacky inside. We will be here a few times a month to eat. read more

Their gyro sandwich is stuffed to the brim with mouth watering meat. Always have leftovers to take home. Fast and friendly service makes this a great quick lunch stop. read more

I really don't think Yelp will let me post my experience at this restaurant. I really hope nobody ever ever ever goes through what I went through. Places like this make me really hesitant about trusting people with food that I eat, particularly meat which must be cooked well. I have eaten here many times and is one of my favorite places but the service I got yesterday 7/17 at 4pm by the young lady behind the counter was horrendous! She took my order like it was an inconvenience, then when my food came out I asked for a sharp knife ( which are usually out with butter knives with other silverware) to cut my kabobs, she pointed at the silverware and I told her only butter knives were out and her response was "its cuts the same" with an attitude, and acted all put out to go see if any of the usual sharper knives were clean. I was so furious I almost left right then without eating my food. I sarcastically said I didn't mean to put you out and her response was basically " that's ok" like it was my fault. I requested a call from the owner by email submission to their website but nothing. I will eat there again but this young lady is awful!!!!! read more

There have been complaints about cleanliness and food quality from people I trust, which leads me to believe that ZK can be inconsistent. However, I have only had positive experiences here. It is good quality Persian food for a fast casual restaurant. I usually order the beef combo. For those saying that the rice is dry, you are supposed to add the butter that they provide. The portions are pretty good--not for two people as some suggest--but for one of me. read more

The first time I went to this restaurant the food was amazing! I was hooked! But then the last 2 times I have been there, the filet is over cooked! The beef would be so delicious if they didn't overlook it. I complained to them because one time the chicken and the filet was over cooked and their response was to bring the food in so they could have a look at it. I've never had a restaurant ask this of me and honestly I feel it is distasteful! I would understand if i has complained multiple times but not the first time. I decided this restaurant is managed by a classless manager and rep who took the phone call. But I did decide to try it one more time just to make sure maybe it was just a bad night, bad chef, bad rep that answered the phone? It happens. I've been trying different Mediterranean restaurants to see which ones are ones I'd like to go to and take others. I had their beef kabob platter tonight for dinner. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! It rivaled food you get in most Persian restaurants. My wife had the lamb and beef combo and it was very good. It's an unassuming place where a lot of people get take out although you could also eat there if you wanted to. Friendly staff. WARNING DO NOT EAT HERE :I ordered on Postmates (it was my first time ordering through Postmates from them) SURPRISE I did not get my food correctly. I call the restaurant to speak with them regarding this matter. The manager so called "owner of the restaurant" answered the phone and was BEYOND nasty. He made my food and told me I would be receiving a refund. I went to the restaurant and asked if he refunded my card. He said that he couldn't because of post mates and I said ok. I told him that this wasn't post mates fault your cooks should be reading the ticket. He COMPLETELY DISMISSED ME and was nasty again! I'm going to get to the bottom of this situation. The was NOT ok! Not only did I wait an hour through Postmates for my food I had to drive 15 minutes away to be treated like TRASH. I spent $60 dollars on our family meal this evening . This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in the east valley. ZK is a family ran hole-in-the-wall that serves up some of the best Persian/Middle Eastern food I've ever had. I have been coming here for almost a year now, and every time I come in, it's the same friendly faces greeting us at the register. I always get a combo, usually the beef and lamb or beef and filet- they are always cooked perfectly and so delicious. I've also had the chicken, and it's also always amazing. They also seem to back the blue community, which is another plus in my book. I'll be coming back for years to come. read more

I am leaving this review so the owners can see it and maybe they can make a difference. Went there the other day. 2 girls working, one of them was outside smoking while we went the other girl was nice enough helped us. When the other girl came in she started sitting right in the front and put a headset on FaceTiming with her friend and kept talking mound back and forth. Like she wonder the place. The food was then dropped off by her and it was the same thing back to her Facetime. Food was okay. Nothing to write home about, but judging by the loom of the place, no love is given to it. The owners I am sure don't care or they would not hire someone like that to work at their place. The blonde girl that works there was nice, but you can tell the place looks like they have given up trying. Food is great but no sauce for the meat, I don't know what's the right way to eat it but every time I order uber eats for this type of food I expected the sauce to come with it. It's OK if it's extra charge but plz put into the sides option with all the combo. When I see the menu I thought that's like extra sauce so I didn't buy it. read more

The hummus and pita I ordered were decent but the service was very poor. The first cashier completely ignored me and the second cashier eventually strolled up to the cash register with her phone in hand and treated me as though I were an inconvenience. There is a new woman working there during the day. She is not the regular Persian lady that is always sweet and has great customer service. This woman is rude, has a terrible attitude and does not make my family feel welcomed to this place that we have visited for over 4 years now. We have taken our business to the ZK Grill in Phoenix on Greenway, where they are always glad to serve us. It is a long distance from my location, but worth the food and service we get from Greenway location. I hope they get rid of this person soon before they lose their clientele of many years. Ive been in Chandler two times within the last two months, but this last time we went, the same woman has been there. This second time we went, we walked out before paying, because she had the same unwelcome attitude she previously had. Very bad for the business. I hope this gets taken care of soon. Clean place. Friendly staff! As rookies of a kabob place we each got a wrap with a side salad. My hubs got a Chicken wrap and gave it two thumbs up!
