Tried out Faava thinking this could be a nice new lunch spot in my weekly rotation. There was no one there so ordering was a breeze. I fundamentally misunderstood the concept- this is not like a Chipotle or Cava, this is a proper restaurant with fast casual vibes. I ordered to go thinking I'd be waiting a few minutes, there was only one worker in the building so he both took my order and prepared my food, seemingly from scratch. I strongly recommend ordering ahead or coming at lunch time expecting a real sit-down experience. The interior is nice with a mix of booth and tabletop seating. The menu is limited to 5 core meals and extra sauce is an up charge so be warned! Overall, the food was majorly fresh. I ordered the lamb adana kebab which was super flavorful but I was left underwhelmed by the lack of protein provided. From a portion perspective- way too much salad and not enough meat. Heard good things from a friend and decided to check it out. we were definitely happy with our meals. We had the hummus, the chicken kebab plate and the beef kebab plate and we had to try the baklava! The pita that came with the hummus was delicious! That was the best for me :) The restaurant is set up so that you order first and then find a seat. We were at the target next door and remembered my friend talking about a Mediterranean restaurant around. We went on a Sunday around 1pm and it was empty. The place is aesthetically done and looks really grand for a quick lunch fix. The menu is super simple and very limited. We ordered chicken kebab which came with rice, falafel and a chicken pita wrap. The food was served in eco friendly containers which was a plus and had lids to take the left over. The food was presented well and was served at the table. The falafel was fresh and the hummus was good too! Loved the rice flavor in the chicken kebab but it was too dry for us and felt lacked the sauce! The wrap was decent. It was a regular meal nothing extraordinary in terms of the taste. Apologies but first time visitor, last time visitor. Ordered the Beef Kabob and meat was over cook, tough to cut, tough to eat, and no flavor. The salad was brown! You see that when serving it so why not throw it out. Tomato's should not be soft and gummy. The only item that we liked was the Hummus, but ONE pita for two people and large serving. They should consider using different containers to serve their dips. The whipped labneh had a cardboard taste from the container which was weird. We finally gave Faava a try and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a vegetarian dish that I was so happy to see. The cauliflower and rice dish was delicious and very filling. For the price we paid we definitely walked away full. The hummus was so delicious! They even gave me a side of cucumber and tomato for the hummus which was so kind since I try to avoid pita and bread. I do, however, wish they had umbrellas on their patio. I hate to have to write a negative review for a new business, but hopefully the owner can treat it as constructive criticism. First the positive: the food and service were very good (guy at the front counter was very nice). I ordered online and drove right over (live 2 minutes away) and the food was ready when I got there. Ambience was pleasant, very airy and modern, decor fit in well with the theme. The major negative is portion size as compared to price. It was $20 for a chicken kebab plate and pistachio baklava. The chicken I finished in two bites, it was about 1/4th to 1/5th portion of comparable places and the baklava, which was $4 was about a 1/2 to 1/3rd of the size it needed to be. It felt like a rip off. So again, while the food was delicious, it's the ridiculously small portion size that would keep me from coming back (and no, not looking to extort a free meal or money back, so please don't offer, just please fix it so I have a nearby Mediterranean place I can come to often). read more

Was excited to see this place had opened given our love for Mediterranean food and frequent shopping in the area. I was going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars and ultimately decided on 3 for the following reasons in hopes that the owners will take note and consider some minor tweaks. For our first experience we ordered takeout on the app. After perusing the menu, initially I was okay with the prices as they were on par with other similar places we had dined. That was until I found out how much you are nickel and dimed for "extras" that are normally included with this type of food. They offer several specialty sauces, but sadly none of them are included with the kebabs. Instead they invite you to pick "at least one" for $1.50 each. They also do not include pitas with the kebabs. For that you'll have to pay an extra $2.00. We ordered the Labneh, Falafel and Lamb Adana Kebab. I found the portions to be decent, but I agree with other Yelpers that the cardboard containers do not work! By the time I got home most of the sauces and spreads had soaked into the container leaving little left to enjoy. I did find the labneh too runny and the tahini too thick. I'm accustomed to a thicker labneh and a thinner tahini sauce. The falafel itself was very good and the lamb kebab and rice was delicious and perfectly cooked. We also enjoyed the nice assortment of sauces and the pita bread, it just would have been nice if at least 1 sauce and a pita was included with each kebab. I want this place to succeed because I like supporting new local businesses and the food really was delicious, but in order for me to go back these issues would have to be addressed. read more

I didn't realize India was in the Mediterranean. This food was not like any other I have ever had and not in a good way. It seems like Greek and Indian combined and I did not care for it at all. I got what was supposed to be a Chicken Pita? It was spicy and I have never had a Chicken Pita that was spicy! They make their own bread but it is not like a Pita and I personally didn't care for it. Faava Restaurant is a hidden gem! Think Chipotle meets the Mediterranean--but with way more flavor and heart. Right next to Chandler Mall, this place serves up insanely fresh food that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance. The homemade pita? Absolute magic. Decided to give a new place a try, left disappointed. The ambiance was nice and the person taking our order was pleasant and knowledgeable. It went downhill from there quickly. The restaurant only had 3 tables of customers, yet we waited 45 minutes without receiving our meal. Everyone working there can see us sitting there with an empty table and a number, yet nobody thought to follow up, apologize, or even acknowledge our existence. The final straw was watching a table of 4 who came in well after us receive their meals while we were sitting there, starving and feeling invisible. After the 47th minute of waiting, I plonked our receipt down at the register and said we need a refund because of the wait time. We were now beyond hungry and severely irritated. It looks like there's no pre-prep for menu items and that literally everything is made to order, one order at a time. This is beyond slow. And the kitchen staff didn't appear to be moving with any sense of urgency. It'll be ready when they feel like it, I guess. In our case, never. The food may or may not be good, but we'll never know. Everything was very flavorful and balanced. The salad was refreshing with the acidity cutting through the richness of the meats. The meats were tender and juicy. Their pita was soft and chewy. The baklava was crispy but chewy with just the right sweetness. They have more interesting and harder to find sides than just your basic hummus and babaganoush. Stopped at Faava today for lunch. The restaurant is brightly decorated and has a very comfortable feel. I did take out since I was alone. I ordered the falafel plate. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Very large salad and the dressing was delicious-pretty sure it was homemade. The falafel was delicioys - perfectly seasoned. The food taste is homemade. We had the cabob and rice with dill. Salmon and salad. Only a few things distracted from the experience. The recycled cardboard bowls were below what I would expect. Also the plastic forks are tiny. There is no place to refill your water besides waiting at the front where people order to have them refill your small plastic drinking cup. They really need to have a refill center for water. Who wants to wait again in line to get water. Once they fix these few things I would rate them five star. the place is clean as can be and we really loved that about it. We were excited to try Faava on 7/30/25. We arrived at approx. 4:30 pm. There was no one at the front counter when we arrived so we took our time looking over the menu. No one came to the counter even after repeating "hello, is anyone here" several times. We continued to wait at the counter. No sound came from the kitchen area either. We then realized someone was sleeping on the bench seat at a booth. We left since obviously naptime is far more important than customer service. I've been here twice now and have been floored both times with how amazing the food is! I grew up on Mediterranean food and this is the best I've ever had, seriously. Everything is made in house (I asked, but you can even see the cooks rolling out fresh pitas in back). So far my favorites are the baba ghanoush, the hummus, and the falafel stuffed pita. Also, don't skip the baklava!! My husband is obsessed with the lamb kebab. Everything is delicious. The staff is so extremely friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. I can't believe I'm saying this about a restaurant of all things, but I feel grateful and lucky that Faava is so close to my home so I can eat there often! read more

We were really excite to try this place, however the service was very disappointing/insulting. They messed up on my wife's order and gave her a lamb kabob bowl instead of the gyro/pita sandwich she originally ordered. Instead of fixing the order the chef sent the waitress over with a pita so we can do it ourselves. Mind you the ingredients are completely different. No apologies, absolutely nothing.
