I recently started coming here over the last two months and have had two issues so far the first one my order was not ready in time. The second one I received a text the morning my order was supposed to be ready and they stated they had an issue with a machine so my order would not be ready until the following day, which was Monday. Unfortunately, my items that I brought on Friday morning were needed for an event Saturday so therefore I had to actually purchase two all white garments for the event which cost a few hundred dollars. The manager Ariel refused to give me my refund of $10 which I know is not that big of a deal but the issue is you all sent a text saying my order was not ready and therefore are just telling me on a Monday afternoon that my order was actually ready in the text was not supposed to have sent to me. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. I specifically requested that my pieces be starched. on Sat 7/21/25 my wife brought home my order and there were (11pcs) without starch. I brought them back on Monday 7/23/25 to be corrected, and picked BACK UP today Weds 7/25/25. They were returned in the exact same condition--unstarched. This demonstrates a clear disregard for both instruction and customer service. This is why you should never leave a dry cleaner without looking over the items you're picking up after paying for alterations. I took a new dress that I purchased online to Zips Dry Cleaners for a minor repair. I thought it would be simpler to have the frayed self tie belt repaired rather than mailing it back to the seller. Wrong! Instead of cutting the frayed part out of the fabric belt and sewing the two pieces together, this is what I got. It looks like it has been glued together with blue glue. Who's going to wear a dress with a belt, that ties in the front, with something that looks like blue chewing gum stuck on it??? I don't live near the South Tampa Zips but have taken my dry cleaning there when I'm in the area to go to some of my favorite shops. This was the 1st time I tried them for alterations. Fortunately, I have dry cleaning to pick up next week, so I'll take the dress back and ask them to sew it instead of gluing it together. Sewing it instead of gluing it. I've taken my clothes to Zips for the last time! After repeated cleanings where I needed to return clothes to be redone. Their incompetence extends to their being ability to discern the need for creases in dress pants (!!) and even when instructed to put a crease in the pants. They return these with a label attached even saying "No crease." I know. I can see that they have not done what I have asked. No need to advertise incompetence. Incorrectly pressed pants (flat fronted) has been the cause for two of the last three loads that I have taken them, and a few that I have not bother including the last one. In addition, a shirt got returned today with the collar entirely accordion pleated and wrinkled. One would assume that pressing collars flat would be Dry Cleaning 101 for anyone hanging out a shingle. To add insult to this, Zips has begun promoting an "elite club" for a $14.95 monthly membership. It is a trick. It essentially preserves the (paltry) services that one had prior to this deceit with only a few minor discounts per item. There is no way that one could save the monthly membership no matter how large nor how often the loads. Clearly, employees could care less about what customers ask of them. The level of service has plummeted, at least at the location on S. Dale Mabry. I this platform would allow awarding no stars, I would. Avoid ZIPS at all costs. read more

Do not, and I repeat, do not use the alteration services. Although the dry cleaning is subpar, at least you get what you pay for. Alteration fees, on the other hand, are priced at market rates. Surprisingly since their seamstress can't sew a proper button nor can she follow instructions. She ruined a brand new jacket, with tags. Simple, easy and cheap for wash and fold. I was on vacation in Tampa and ran out of clean clothes on New Year's day. I'm not paying the crazy hotel dry cleaning prices just to wash some underwear and t-shirts, so I figured I'd be washing clothes in the hotel bathroom sink. On a whim I called a few places hoping they could do a quick wash and fold for me. This is the one place that picked up and they said they'd do it same day for me. I showed up with my little hotel laundry bag and they said they'd have to charge me for the 10 pound minimum, which is $12.00. That's a pretty damn good price where I come from! I should have brought my whole suitcase there. They said my clothes would be ready by 5, I got an email at 4 and drove over to pick them up. The lady greeted me with a smile and gave me the clothes and off I went. Everything smelled great, socks and t-shirts folded, and I'm super happy with the price. read more

I must have called a dozen cleaners to find someone who could dry clean my suit fast. I had to have it ready in about 24 hours and I didn't think that'd be a challenge. It was. I had to drive from St. Pete over to this spot on Dale Mabry. Even if I don't have to have it as quickly next time, I'll still use these guys. Do not ever, ever bring your dry cleaning here. Ever. The very first time I go to this location, they hand me back my dry cleaning and it has someone else's shirt mixed in with it, and one of my shirts missing. The kid at the counter with a "customer last" attitude spends all of 90 seconds looking for it before telling me they will need a "couple of days" to look for it. All of this the night before a business trip. This message delivered with a petulant, pissy attitude. So now I need to go to the mall to get a cheap replacement shirt to replace the custom made shirt they lost. The shirts that they did manage to successfully return to me still have staining around the collar. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

These people may be cheaper but they certainly have no idea how to operate a service-based business. It always takes way too long to drop off/pick up your cleaning here. Today it was an absolute disaster. I stood there for 10 minutes while a cashier chit-chatted with another customer. Meanwhile several other employees flitted about doing nothing. There is nothing that special about this place to merit me standing there for 10 minutes (yes those 10 minutes are extremely important to me, and if you waste my time, you lose my business) while employees ignore me. This place opened up right as I was looking for a dry cleaner in the area since just having moved to this part of town recently. I happened to drop off a dress shirt and suit during their grand opening when each item was only $0.99 for either laundry or dry cleaning. Their regular pricing is also very reasonable at $2.99 for most garments. Drop off was a breeze as they added me into the system and their business model is in by 9am out by 5pm. Since it was about 11am when I dropped my expectation for pick up was the next day by 5pm. The next day I had an email by 12pm that my items were ready. Pick up was just as speedy and once I checked the quality of the work I was impressed at the price and timeliness. Guess I've found my new go to cleaner in the neighborhood. read more

I had to visit the location multiple times because each time they tried to clean my dress more stains appeared. They never owned up to their mistakes and never offered any form of compensation. I needed to have some coats I inherited from my mother cleaned. One, a brand new rain coat, had the price tag still attached - it cost over $200. After Zips cleaned the coats, and I got them home, I found that the belt on the raincoat was damaged. It appeared that bleach or some other chemical had been spilled across parts of it. The manager stated that there is no bleach in the Zips building and that the damage is the fault of the garment - because the RAINCOAT had gotten damp at some point. It seems very odd that this happened only on the end of the belt, and in a pattern that looks like a spill. I asked for the belt to be dyed, or that the end of the belt be altered to remove the segment with the discoloration. Instead of looking for help with solution, Zips looked for reasons to blow me off. In effect, the company is telling me it is my problem. I will never, ever, EVER bring anything here again. read more
