Not really sure why it took me 2-weeks to get my comforter back. I was told from other customers that I know personally that recommended AND frequent ZIPS, that the business contacts you when your item(s) are ready, and again.. after 2-weeks of no contact, if not longer.. I randomly arrived to check on my items and I was told that my text-option was disabled, whatever that means. The service I have received over the months has been great and the quality of the service is excellent.

Zips does not know how to press creases in pants. I pointed out that the crease does not get pressed next to the seam, as it should in the front and back of the leg. Both times I got the pants back with a crease along the seam. Good bye you idiots. read more

THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED I have been going to Zips Annapolis for years. They have always done a great job whether it was dry cleaning clothing, tailor services, or laundering comforters or bedspreads. Recently, I took in a new comforter and it was returned to me looking worse than when I first purchased it from the store. My comforter looks as if it was balled up, thrown in a corner and then put in a bag before I arrived for pick up. For $24.99, almost an hour round trip to drop off and pick up for two days, I received a wrinkled comforter that I must now steam so that is presentable. Very Disappointed!! read more

After experiencing no more than four or five issues over the span of over four years cleaning with this ZIPS (missing items and quality concerns), I reached my breaking point and left a review. I was pleasantly surprised, though, when only a few days later I receive a text message from the owner/operator of this franchise location asking when they can call me (my feedback submission on the corporate site specified that I would prefer this). After a brief conversation with them, my faith is restored simply because they seem to genuinely care about their business operation. Putting aside the fact that they did the right thing for the most recent issue, they took the time listen and validate my concerns and feedback - most retailers will only try to buy back your business. Personally reaching out and having that conversation shows a lot about how this operator values their clients, for which I am grateful. I ruined an entire load of whites with a pink lip balm! Didn't realize it was in a pocket until after it had all gone through the dryer, so it was baked into everything. The load included white sheets, shirts, and a linen jacket- all different materials. I tried everything at home and had given up, but Zips miraculously got the stains out of every article I brought them! Love this place, and the customer service and prices are great! I've been coming here ever since I moved to Annapolis a few years ago. Everyone is always friendly and they're very quick with getting people in/out the door. Even if the line is long, it's not a long wait. I've never had any issues with a garment I've dropped off, and often it's done quicker than their estimate. I did for the first time today and it felt good not to pollute. HANGARS are not recyclable... NOT RECYCLABLE.. Hangars..wire ..have to be directly taken to metal scrap places in AAC and hangars cannot be recycled in our curbside service... they are usually trashed and polluting the earth and causing water runnoff. read more

A customer since this location opened and will continue to use their services. Not unlike most businesses, there have been some problems as I am a high volume customer. Few business if any deliver exceptional service each and every time as we all know. However, managers Sandra and Kyle always go above and beyond in resolving my issues. When I came to pick it up she said she never helped me, even though her name was on the ticket. She then took her time to watch the video cameras because she didn't believe me. When she realized she was wrong, she didn't apologize and still made me come back for the clothes. I recently landed a new job where the dress code requires work clothes to be, "clean and pressed" every day so I stopped by and dropped off three button up dress shirts and three khaki pants at 745am and by 430 they were pressed and ready to go for under $20. Great deal for the price. If you have silk or some crazy expensive item I probably wouldn't go there because they are a high volume cleaner, however for my purposes they were great and I will be back next week. read more

Ok, I still like this place. But I have had my first and second bad experience. First, I brought a white cotton button down in to be dry cleaned. Now, I bought this shirt on the clearance rack at The Gap for like $9.99, but it's super comfortable under sweaters. Anyway, I went to pick it up, and they hadn't cleaned it because the whole sleeve was ripped. They gave me my money back, but still, I didn't bring it there that way. I assumed this was just poor quality on The Gap's part. FINE. Next: The buttons on a pair of pants have black enamel on the bronze button. One of the buttons had the enamel fall off - so I wanted to replace it with a complete button, and have the pants cleaned. When I picked up the pants, THREE of the SIX buttons were now missing the black enamel! WTF?! And I don't have any more replacement buttons! The prices are still good enough to keep me coming back. So... It's Zips. Dry cleaning at $1.99/item. In by 9am, it by 5pm. It's good for run of the mill stuff: sweaters, dress shirts, pants. I wouldn't take my expensive or delicate items here simply because I wouldn't want to take the chance that it could be ruined. There's a seamstress on staff and she's pretty good at alterations but her prices have become ridiculous over the years. I wanted to have buttons on my winter coat replaced. Stay away from this ZIPS. I brought 23 men's button up dress shirts here and 3 were damaged and several had creases going through the shirt including a tuxedo shirt I had to wear the next evening to a black tie event. I was too embarrassed to take off my jacket. The damaged shirts included ripped off buttons and a 2 inch tear. The amount you will save at this one price cleaner will be absorbed by the trips back to Brooks Brothers replacing torn shirts. Suppose I should have checked each garment at checkout but wanted to be respectful of the customers behind sitting in the 90 degree store. I gave far too much credit and figured everything was good to go. ZIPS revenue model is all about speed, not quality or customer care. I can't be the first who has experienced this....assuming they would be out of business if each customer inspected their clothes at pickup. Great place to bring a pair of coveralls or dickies but I would stay away if you are a business professional requiring presentable dress clothes. If you are in a bind and forced to go here be sure to check you garments at pickup. Don't make my mistake and find the tears when you go put your shirt on for work the next day. read more

Wow...picked up my $250 comforter today and am horrified with what they did...it's completely ruined. Asked for it to be cleaned and to have a very small hole stitched closed. There are small ~1/4 inch seams across the whole comforter, one of which was ripped open (but the hole was only the size of the seam). When I dropped it off, the cashier asked for the seamstress, who assured me that the hole needed a simple hand-stitch. It looks like they stuffed it into a sewing machine instead, and sewed a giant, crooked, raised stitch across about 3 inches. I don't know if they ripped the hole further and tried to then sew it shut or just had no idea what they were doing. Either way, I wish I would have paid the $50 to have it done properly at a small, family-owned dry cleaner. read more

You do get what you pay for. It's basically the Mcdonalds of the Dry cleaning industry. If you need a quick cheap fix, this is your place. I brought in 4 garments to be dry cleaned and total price was maybe $7, and they were ready the following day . Now my clothes didn't have any "special" stains, and weren't Egyptian Virgin Purified Wool, just regular department store clothes that I had stunk up from previous wear, so in my opinion ZIPS did their job, they cleaned my clothes and didn't lose them. What else could I expect for $7. This is not the place for your fancy $800 Hugo Boss Cashmere sweater, or if you are looking for a tailor. p.s.
